Effort and output must share equal time, especially when it comes to food. It's about the proper care and storage of produce to minimize waste -- and it costs nothing. Keep fruit out of the fridge -- cold air turns plums into raisins. Same goes for onions, potatoes and garlic: think cool and dry. And what to do about wet produce (lettuce for instance)? Toss it in a paper bag, then place it inside a plastic bag (recycled from the produce section). It'll stay crisp and delicious.
