Yup! I know all about the meatloaf pose. We call it "rock with a head", because they tuck their legs under, and then they don't move. LOL!

I don't think cats will ever stop being adorable. :P

Hee! When I see mine curled up like that with the paw over the eyes, I have to gush at them 'awww, look at the widdle baby kitties seepin' so cute', which makes them give me a disgusted look. When mine are all tightly curled up, I tell 'em they're curled up like little shrimps. And, the position where all four paws are tucked in (a variation of the 'monorail' position) is the 'meatloaf' pose.

If you google 'monorail cats' and 'meatloaf cats' you get some great photos of cats in these positions.

I like it when they curl their heads under, so they are sleeping chin up. I call it "upsiddowny head." :P

That's cute!! I think it is really cute too when they put one of their legs over their eyes while curled up; like little babies. emoticon

IMAREADER'S comment reminds me of an email I've gotten a couple of times that has dogs and cats sleeping in odd positions. I think one of them a cat is on a chair back with legs hanging on either side. Orzo either curls up with his head under his leg or just lies on the back of this chair that is fairly thick or in my lap.

My blog today has my cats (2 photos) in some of their favorite sleeping positions. Cats do know how to take care of themselves.
Love them! emoticon Baby emoticon Lucy

My brother has a cat that likes to sleep on the back of the computer chair. We call it his 'monorail' position.

Orzo is fine. He doesn't have a balance problem. When he fell getting on the counter he just didn't go high and far enough. that is the only time he has fallen. He is being bad getting on my chair, though, because he has been climbing part way before hopping up and his claws are going into the leather. I don't really want to have to recover this chair. I usually keep a blanket over the side of it (it is also my bed since I don't have a good mattress). Much of the time Orzo sleeps on the back of the chair during the day and it is a rocker-recliner so I am often rocking it a little.

Poor Orzo (great name, BTW)! I'm sure he was so embarrassed that you saw him do these things.

Yesterday Orzo ended up in a tub of water. I was drying off and draining the tub and he jumped in it. He just stood there until I asked him what he was doing. Then he jumped out and up on the counter to eat. Then today he tried to jump on the counter to eat and fell off backwards. Not only did that scare him, but Cassie rushed over and scared hiim more. It just wasn't his couple of days.
