My cat Mr Paws used to amuse himself by hitting the play button on my phone answering machine. I had to by a wire 'cage' for it - a wire basket. But I left it off when I travelled & left a recording on it just for him.

1 of my 4 cats has discovered that if he hits the big button on top of the alarm clock (the 'nap alarm' button) that it will go off in a few minutes to wake us up. Makes it hard to sleep in on the weekend. And he lick us on the forehead to wake us up.

Hi! I love your stories about your cats. Sorry about your other Kittie.

I had a cat that used to spray whenever anything upset him and it was horrible. Now my male cat, Baby, acts up almost every night but doesn't spray! emoticon One thing for sure--cats are fascinating animals (and smart!). Have a nice weekend. Chelsea, Baby and Lucy emoticon emoticon emoticon

Love it...my cat that past away would let me know if I forgot to change her litterbox, that I used to keep in the basement....she would relieve herself on my husband's side of the bed, or if we went away for the weekend..she was not a happy camper.

Happy to report, my two cats, now have 2 litter boxes in an area where I clean them twice a day.

Oh ya and my Mitty, she'll sit and stare at the cabinet where their wand toys are and look at me and then back at the cabinet until I feel so bad I play with them.

So much fun. Well except when my RIP Missy would leave me a very on the spot reminder.."my cat litter box needs changing" :)

Oh one more, in the morning my Mitty, when I get up from computer chair for a drink or restroom break, she jumps up on my chair and looks at me, like "ya what, you moved".

You know what is funny? When I went to college, I had 3 cats and didn't use the alarm clock except when I had 8 am classes. The rest of the time, I didn't need an alarm clock since I had 3 LIVE ones! emoticon People who had never owned cats didn't understand how efficient cat alarms were. emoticon

The cat says, if humans are not awake on time, to feed me; stomp across beds and sleeping forms several times. IF that fails, stick wet nose in ear. If that fails, then feign hairball attack on bed, at the foot of the bed, so they have to sit up.

Failing that, then feign a small cat disagreement down the hall.

Nothing works unless you do.

Funny, Susie! Reminds me of my cat, Lucy, today who FLEW and landed on my keyboard as I was typing. She had been trying to get my attention and I told her I needed to finish my email. No waiting for Lucy! And you are right--we love them no matter what!

P.S. I had one cat in the past who used the tub to pee if he was mad at me for anything. Oh well....At least NOT on the carpet! LOL

My current furbabies sometimes like to get on my computer desk between the monitor and me and put their butts in the air so I can't see the screen. They are very clearly saying,"Enough with that thing, pay attention to me!" emoticon emoticon

ROSALIEESTHER, they do!! People who have never owned cats, don't understand how intelligent they are. My female cats looks at me as she slowly starts to walk towards where the plastic tape is (she loves the tape and now that I am packing to move, she knows where to get it!). As I start walking towards here not saying anything, she slowly continues to walk to the tape. As I get closer, she starts to chew, chews real fast, and then runs! As I slowly move away, she slowly moves back to the tape. Keeps me on my toes! emoticon emoticon

What I love is the game I call "Monkey Tail." That's when everyone just starts running around like a maniac! The reason I call it "Monkey Tail" is sometimes they curl their tails under like you see some monkeys do, and they hop to one side before they take off. It's hilarious.

LOL! Yup!

I have one friend who is allergic, but he is just absolutely in love with my Juli (my little tortie.) He always says if he had is own place, wasn't allergic, and was ready for a pet, and Juli needed a home, he would take her. That makes me feel good. She's a very special kitty.

(The one in my user pic right now is Tori, my favorite-favorite.)

Both my cats have done most of these. To the list I'd add:

- When they have guests, identify the one that doesn't like cats and go sit on them.
- If visitors sit in your place - sit in the waste paper bin and stare reproachfully at them.

Hi everybody! I got another funny cat joke. Enjoy! emoticon Chelsea

**A CAT'S THOUGHTS ON PUNISHING YOUR HUMAN BEING**

Sometimes, despite your best training efforts, your human will stubbornly resist bending to your whim. In these extreme circumstances, you may have to punish your human. Obvious punishments, such as scratching furniture or eating household plants, are likely to backfire; the unsophisticated humans are likely to misinterpret the activities and then try to discipline YOU. Instead, we offer these subtle but nonetheless effective alternatives:

Use the cat box during an important formal dinner.

Stare impassively at your human while it is attempting a romantic interlude.

Stand over an important piece of electronic equipment and feign a hairball attack.

After your human has watched a particularly disturbing horror film, stand by the hall closet and then slowly back away, hissing and yowling.

While your human is sleeping, lie on its face.
