I have a friend who adopted all the feral cats from where he used to work. I think he ended up with 7 total, though one was a kitten that one of the others brought home. It was one of the males that brought home the male kitten.

Now my friend's wife has 5 cats that she found in her "garage" a few years ago. Four of them were small kittens with their mother when it was really cold. The mother cat left so she took them inside. A year or two later another kitten showed up, so she took her in, too. All the cats stay downstairs. She has two dogs and they stay upstairs and she has about 12 canaries and 2 parakeets.

Well I haven't seen her in the last few days so I hope she has a home already. I think I will just leave food out for her when I see her and go from there.

We had 3 adult cats and the cat next to my MIL had a litter and we rescued them and kept 2. The others socialized OK with them and they just love my old tom (they both rub up against his face and body when they greet him its so adorable). I wanted to keep the Mama but I don't know what became of her-she wouldn't let anyone near her to capture her- its very sad- she was the neighbour's nephew's cat and he just decided one day to get rid and just let her outside to fend for herself.

I got my first cat from my father's cat's first litter. I had him from a kitten. He was also a very special cat. He passed away a couple of years ago :( When I adopt again I'm going to adopt from a rescue shelter because there are so many cats there who need love :) Or I might foster for a while. My building doesn't allowed pets right now though.

When I was looking for my first cat I found it through the newspaper. It didn't work with the owners cat. They would have preferred to keep him, but had their other too long and couldn't part with it. I was actually interviewed before I finally was able to bring the cat home. Apparently, it was almost given to someone else, but he was meant for me and I was selected.
We had some good times. He was quite a cat. emoticon

I understand your "pain". I just have that heart that makes me want to take in any "stray" that comes my way, human or Kitty. LOL. I agree with the animal rescue comment. Or you might try your local newspaper. Some papers let you post an ad for free if you're offering an animal for free. I would just pray that the home she finds is a good one. emoticon

If you have a Cat Rescue in your neighbourhood that will take the cat in, make sure it's healthy, and find it a happy home, that's the best bet. I know not every city has them.

I have a black cat that is doing the same to me. I have a picky cat so I have been feeding it the leftovers. For the longest time it was unapproachable, but now comes right to me, and scratches at the door. It wants so badly to get some attention, but I just can't handle another cat right now either.
The picture you have, looks very much like my snowshoe Elmo. Caught my attention. emoticon

This is torture!! This cute girl kitty keeps coming around my house, sleeps on top of my screen porch and now since I went out and pet her for a while and gave her some treats, she is meowing outside my window! I want to take her in! But I have 4 cats already (all male too). And I'm not sure if she maybe belongs to a neighbor? But she is so hungry and desperate for attention and her face and ears are quite dirty so maybe not? ugh......I don't know what to do!
