My oldest, Stonie, knows when I normally go to bed or take a nap. It will get close to that time and he'll come by where I am sitting and look at me. If I am not ready, I'll tell him "Not now, wait a minute," and I'll hold up my index finger. He'll turn and flounce off but he'll come back again a few minutes later, letting me know in his opinion it's time. If it's nap time I'll say to him, "Go nappie in the big bed?" He'll run for the bedroom. Same thing at bedtime. "Want to go nite-nite in the big bed?" Zoom for the bedroom, LOL.

So many of these things sound like my cats. The two that died did the crazy stuff like mess with my water in the glass. One of them used to pick the straw out of the glass and drop it on the floor to play with it. The other one could not stand for a pen or nail clippers to be on the table near my chair. As soon as she spotted a pen or pencil she had to knock it off and then she was happy. Mine too enjoy licking plastic bags. I have one, Big Guy, who brings bags and clothes (dirty clothes like socks and underwear) to the water bowl and dunks them. Big Guy also snores terribly. he sleeps on my pillow and I often have to jostle him to stop him from snoring. Earl Gray starts meowing when we click off the TV. He hears the little noise the TV makes and he knows it is time to say "goodnights." He starts meowing and comes over to us for his goodnight rub.

Maggie likes to lick the shower curtain. She'll also chew on and eat pieces of plastic grocery bags (which means that I have to unpack all groceries right away and put the bags away (when I forget to use my reuseable bags, that is).

Alice will stare into any glass of water (or tea) that I leave sitting around. Then she'll either stick her head in the glass and drink or she'll tilt her head a little (studying the situation). Then she'll daintily dip her paw in the liquid and lick her paw. It's cute except when I'm still drinking it or she tips it over.

And they both run and hide when I pull out a sheet of aluminum foil from the box.

I have three cats that are so different. Molly waits by the bathroom door after I take my shower then likes to lick the shower water. There is always a bowl of water in the bathroom for her but she loves shower water.
Samantha feels she owns me. Loves to drink out of my water glass and jumps in my arms when I ride my exercise bike. She also follows me around the house. She needs to know that I am in her site.
Scooter loves to nurse on my neck! He is three years old and weighs 13 pounds. He also runs around after he uses the kitty box.
They are so funny and strange!

Sasquatch plays with his water. Puts his paw in & swirls before drinking. He also prefers the metal bowl over the ceramic. But the metal has a curved base & tips when he swirls so I keep it in the bathroom. He finds me & meows when it's too low or out of water. He has trained me well:)

My cat Honey actually cups his paw and scoops water out of the bowl to drink it. And he does his food like that as well. He is really funny, when he lays on the floor he lays flat on his tummy with paws outstretched. Will have to take a pick and post it.

Too funny reading this topic. Our furkids are so alike. Mine also join me in the bathroom, have a thing for plastic, sit on things especially books & papers. My Sasquatch sleeps by my head, sometimes with his head on my pillow. & he must be on the side I face. If I turn over, he goes to the other side.

My Figaro loves to answer the door. And it's funny because he's a tuxedo, we call him our butler.
All of our cats like to barge in on us when we are going to the bathroom. We are remodeling so the door doesn't have a lock.
My brother's cat has developed a strange obsession with me. She follows me everywhere I go, she sits next to me and stares at me, and she's constantly licking me.

does anyone elses cat go mental after using the litter tray bellarouche gets so psyched up that he races up the stairs and around the house crashing into walls and furniture, also all 3 of my cats have had a thing about visiting me when i am in the toilet with one it was the only time he would sit on my lap. bella will push open the door with his front feet and if its me he comes in for a chat if its my son he will stare distainfully and walk away. bella also loves clean towels just off the line, smelly old hats, the pedals of my sons bike, plastic bags and all sizes of boxes which he tries to crawl into even if he is five times bigger than the box

Although I have had cats my whole life it was the first time I ever saw a cat have what I thought was a fit. Tiger was sitting looking out the window from some distance away when all of a sudden his teeth began to chatter and he seemed to be shaking. I was very worried until I discovered that this was his response to the birds he could see outside and in his imagination he was chasing and biting them.

Cats can go either way on the plastic... my kids freak out at plastic bags!

But, they do like to sit on things. They'll sit on the counter, but if you have a magazine or a cookbook out, they'll sit on top of that. same thing on the bed... they are fine on the bed, but if there is a towel or a shirt on the bed, they'll sit on top of that!

My theory is, when cats stare into space, they're just trying to psych us out or make us look.

Mimi used to dance in front of he mirror, looking at herself. Rani doesn't do anything particularly weird but she's funny and entertaining. When we first got her we used to lock her in a room with all her stuff when we went to work. It wasn't so much to keep her in as it was for keeping the dog out. Then we got a gate hook so now we can keep the door open wide enough for her but not wide enough for the dog. When I put the door on the hook in the morning, sometimes she runs out of the room and dances around like she's saying "ha-ha, I'm free, fooled you!"

It may seem difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first.

My cat will stare at bugs but never play with them or kill them. Comes in handy because she spots bugs a lot better than I do! Another weird thing she does is LOVE plastic bags. She'll claw the heck out of them. A lot of the time she just loves laying on them.

My cat Evie kneads a teddy bear as well, she has since we first got her. Paris will lay on you and knead your breasts or your tummy. Zoe will bat at the flaps of cardboard boxes. She will sit on her hind legs for minutes at a time just staring off into space continuously batting at the flaps. She also likes to try and, I guess dig up, stacks of paper. Evie will burrow under my covers if the room is cold and then turn around and poke her head out, or I'll even just see her tail. Evie like string cheese and they all like eggs.

My O'Malley (and sometimes Tigger) love to play ice hockey in my kitchen. If anyone goes to the frig to get ice for a drink, O'Malley is right there hoping you will drop a nice chunk so he can bat it around the kitchen. I usually let them play with it for a while and then try to find whats left of it so no one winds up with a wet sock after the ice melts and they step in it!

Wolfie loves to knead his teddy bear!

Years ago, before I even had cats, I was going to give it to my niece, but I stuck it in a box and put it in my trunk to mail to her, and never did. Years later, the car died and I donated it to the Humane Society. When I cleaned it out, I discovered the box with the teddy bear. My niece is now all grown up and wouldn't be interested in it, so I brought it inside and Wolfie immediately set to work on it. He doesn't knead anything else! We leave it on the bed, and it's the same color as the sheets, so he can't see it. When he wants it, he'll hop up on the bed and headbutt me until I find it for him. He will spend hours with it!

Jasmine will sit at the front window staring into space and then suddenly jump down and run to the dining room, look out that window, and then jump down and run back to the living room where she will resume her watchful stare. Who knows what she sees out there.

I work from home so my three cats curl up under my feet at my desk all day long.

My calico Isabella loves to sit and look at the ceiling even though we don't see anything there. Today she starts batting at the bathroom wall like she was trying to get something but again nothing there.
