Ideal weight range is 162 - 178.2 lbs. (73.6 - 81 kg.).
Contratulations! Your weight is ideal!

Interesting... My minimum weight is about 10kg (22lb) higher than my lowest BMI...

It gave me a goal range of 184-202...I'm 20 pounds below that now (164), but I probably looked fine and was perfectly healthy at 184, or even 190. I think I hit a healthy BMI at 189 or so.

According to that I'm at an ideal weight. But I don't like the weight I'm at now. So weight wise I might be "ideal", but looking-at-myself-nekkid wise, I'm not even close. :P

That's the best calculator ever! It told me I'm right, therefore, instant win. ^_^; Heh. Which is good, cause some of the goals I've seen on other people would (and did) look so funny on me.

Thank you for this - according to the chart I am large frame, and my current goal is actually a few pounds under.
Since I have always been overweight I have no idea what is a normal weight range for me. My old doctor pegged me between 165-180. When I hit 200, we shall see and go from there.

Blessings -

according to this i have a small frame. which i realized myself recently. i'm 6'1'' and it lists my ideal weight range as 174-191.4lbs. well, i weighed 196 earlier this year and looked and felt pretty bad. i'm actually 175 at the moment and i feel good. i could stand to lose another 10-15lbs which i guess would put me underweight according to this. right now my weight is not bad, but i have no tone to speak of.

Just a bit further...

apparently i have a small frame, which i find quite surprising. i think my wrists are just the only skinny/small part of me. anyhow, i should be 150-165 according to this. it's good to know my goal(s) aren't completely dillusional!

THANK YOU!!!

I've been struggling with an acceptable goal weight since starting SP. I was apprehensive of going strictly with BMI as I tend to be on the muscular side. I'm actually changing my goal weight based on these results, which indicate my "normal" BMI (183 is the MOST I can way and be in the "normal" range) isn't even in the RANGE for a large frame (my wrist measured 7" - my range is 188-207)

I'm thinking I'll go for mid-range - 195 - as a new goal weight!

I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments on this. I think one thing that is good about this is it focuses more on a weight range. It may seem a little high for some people, but it seems more healthy to me to think of a comfortable range for our body with a little "wiggle room". So many times I get caught up on a number. I think I want to weigh 160. Well, if I ever get there I won't be exactly 160 all the time. By allowing yourself some flexibility it is one less thing to stress about! Have a great weekend everyone!

NEAT! :)

Mine was kinda close... I mean, less than 7" wrist for sure, but not quite 6.5", although could my wrist measurement change? It's really close to 6.5" But anyway -- if I'm large frame, it says 200-220lbs, if I'm medium it says 190-209 lbs. BMI STARTS the healthy range at a high of 190. So I guess my target is still probably a pretty good one, but I guess if I get to 200lbs and feel good, I'm probably ok there as well since it fits within both large and medium frames.

Since the smallest I have ever weighed after high school is 220, it helps to have as many tools as possible to gauge a realistic and healthy goal for myself when it's still so far away.

Although, I have to admit it's kind of encouraging to realize that I'm 40lbs away from the highest of those "ideal" weights, 40lbs away from my lowest weight after high school -- AND I'VE ALREADY LOST 30lbs!!! So really, I'm close to halfway to that particular milestone. That's pretty exciting! :D

Thanks for sharing!

Interesting! Thanks for posting this - I'm going to share this with a few friends who were also discussing the whole 'what should I shoot for' thing.

But for me, I can touch with my fingers - although I also think I have very long fingers. So using that my range is 168 - 184.8 lbs (6' tall). I then did it for medium since I think that's more where my shoulders and body structure is - and that range is 178 - 195.8 lbs which ironically also falls better into my goals.

Really interesting - if I was 'large' boned I'd now be underweight! huh? wow! But very cool... good food for thought as it were.

I am 5'11" and it considers me large boned with the measurements even though my fingers do touch (I too must have long fingers). That means my range is 182 to 200 which means I am in range. However I still am not where I want to be and do not plan on stopping at my current weight.

Hmmm...according to the website I have a small frame. Which is odd to me. It says I should be between 155 and 177 ish. (My goal weight is 165.)

I find this strange, because I have always thought I have very small wrists (I have wide shoulders and wide hips). But if I calculated that I have a medium frame, I am right on target. Interesting!

That is really neat, though I found in interesting that I am a small frame body (growing up I thoght I was huge as my chest cage is pretty large) But now I have a different idea of what an ideal weight for me should be. 17 lbs to go!

interesting. Maybe I have long fingers, cause my thumb and forefinger do barely meet if I squeeze. I saw one once that said to measure the width of your elbow bone. I don't know. I'm pretty damn sure that my frame is considered large. At 5'11, it tells me the range is 182-200, and that's definitely the highest range I've ever seen, and it means I'm healthy. Hrm. Maybe that's true. I don't know. I'm not done yet, although I've had a hard time figuring out where I do stop.
My mom told me once you've been fat, you'll always think you're fat, even if it's not true. I'm just saying, I still have plenty of it, objectively speaking. So I don't think I'm done yet. Pretty happy with myself today though!

I think we both found it encouraging. I too measured my wrist and then did the calculation.
At 5 10 and large frame, my high end was 192ish. I'm sure there's room for arguement that less is better, but personally, I found it encouraging to be "only" 41 pounds away!

Let's see, that's supposively 4 sizes, so that would put me in a 10. Hmmmm....I doubt it, since I'm not a solid 18 yet, so probably a 12. Which I've said all along would be ok with this old lady. Who needs to be ultra skinny at my age! lol.

That's really interesting! I liked that it had actual wrist measurements for small/medium/large frames, rather than just guesstimating with your fingers. Using the finger test, I should have a small frame (finger and thumb overlap), but if you look at the actual measurements, I'm at the maximum for a medium frame (6.5"). I just have REALLY long fingers.

Anyways, I'm 6'1" and a medium frame, so my goal range is 184-202. I'm at 187 now...yay!

The weights listed by that website are much higher (and I believe more realistic) than other websites, including Weight Watchers. Based upon my age and height, WW gives me a maximum weight of 182 - and even though my personal goal is lower than that, I don't think that's necessarily reasonable for EVERYONE. And forget the BMI, that's never been a good test for me and my muscles.

I came out with high end goal weigth for a large frame in the low 190s, which, I found very encouraging! We'll see what I look like when I get there :-)
