I am still doing my morning pages and more.. stress has put a damper on my art journal, it makes me clam up so I can not be creative..

Hi, I have been writing in my journals since 1987. I have started dabbling in art journals to combine 2 practices in 1.. I am finding it difficult.. I still just write in my reg journal everyday.. I am planning short stories from life's journals. tried thinking of a "novel" story but could not make it work.. short stories is possible..

This is Camey. I just saw Jan53l on there which I hadn't seen for a while. I am the same person. I changed my service and couldn't get on with Jan53l so I came on with Cameyl3. Just wanted everyone to know and not think this person wrote the same book.

Hi. I just joined too. I recently finished my second novel. First was It could happen to you that was published 1981 and is out of print now. Trying to find publisher for Memories of the Past, Open window, a children story, and 3 barns, another children. My other published friends tell me that publishers are no longer accepting from unknown writers because of the ecomony. It is a shame, but a lot of the big companies only want books from writers who's books have been selling. But I would not stop writing because maybe down the road things will change. A good book to get is Writer's Market, which lists what publishers are looking for and word count. I sent Memories of the Past out and found I only have 6l,000 words and he wants 80,000, so I am working on it now to extend it. I wish you luck.

Hi Everyone. Havent checked in for a long time. Ive reduced my teams and now I can concentrate on the ones improtant to me. Ive been writing daily papers also. Im starting Criminal Justice Program tomorrow. It's the first day of classes. Im going for a degree in Corrections. Im still writing alot but Ive always wanted a career in criminal justice so Im going for it. It took one month to get the financial aid. Im very excited to be starting. My classes this term are Foundations in Math, Computer Information Systems, Success Strategies. That class has alot of writing techniques. That will be very helpful for my writing. I hope everyone is doing well. Ive reached a huge goal for me. Im now under 400 lbs. Ive lost 90 lbs so far. Im so shocked this is working so well.

Hey I have been writing about 5 pages everyday but they are only "Morning Pages". Haven't written anymore on my mystery novel or my fantasy novel, and haven't wrote a poem in over a month. Just morning pages and a lot of angry words. Guess I just need to get stuff off my chest so I can get back to my novels.

I'm writing a historical fiction set on the Oregon trail. Haven't exactly decided what year to set my story. Researching the history. The story is done.

Okay my sweeties, for a writers' team, this is a bit lame. Who is writing what? Let's share a bit. The protagonist in one of my stories, the one I'm almost finished with, is a state trooper who suffers a traumatic leg amputation in an explosion. The crux of the story is how he changes and grows from the experience.
I write poetry infrequently because I have a tendency to get into doggerel. The last piece I wrote a couple of years ago got quite a bit of attention locally. I was protesting the burning of Harry Potter books by some church group so I had fun with it-I'll see if I can find it to post.

Have a great week all!

Just wanted to share something with my fellow writers. I had almost given up on my writing career, when I decided to start blogging on my Myspace page. I simply write about my life, the comings and goings and such. And within a few short months, I had my spark back! I am ready to get back on the writing train. I am so excited!

Good afternoon everyone,
I've had a very restful holiday vacation and I hope you all have as well. I am a writer, as yet unpublished. I began way back in elementary school, winning awards for my short stories entered into the county fair and a poetry contest as well.
I completed a bachelors in Creative Writing at the University of Miami, but, in doing so, I became turned off with poetry. It wasn't a good program (the Creative Writing). I had to become something other than what I was in order to get As and Bs on my work. So I gave up on it. Now thanks to absolutewrite.com I found an online university called National University (www.nu.edu) to do my MFA in Creative Writing. And all I can say is wow...I really enjoy "going" there. It is completely online-- no residency (I really don't have the time/ability/finances to do one at this time in my life). It's only 10 classes and I am halfway through. My writing has improved and I found a way to marry my love of movies with my love of writing...screenwriting. I am absolutely thrilled with the school. One of my life goals, teaching at a college, is getting closer as I finish each class.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on about the school (I'm not getting paid to do so). I just know by the time I complete the program that I will have publishable work. I know I will have work that will sell and that I can be proud of 10-15-20 years from now.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that's within...

Greetings I'm new to this group. Hello everyone. Bakingqueen36 did you have a wonderful Christmas? I live in Queensland Australia where it is usually hot hot hot for Christmas but this year it was nice and cool with rain. We needed it because we have had a severe drought with strict water restrictions. We still have the restrictions until our dams have been replenished. I have written quite a lot of poems and am working on a book. I have had some short articles published and poems displayed at our local library but that's about it. I'm trying to loose weight but having trouble as I like having food in my mouth he he. happy writing Hannah
