Wow! It has been a few (okay maybe a bit more) days since I have checked in!!

Christmas has passed, new years has passed, and I just started my new job today! I probably wont be checking in everyday, but I am going to try for every week now. I also have school starting again on monday, so busy busy. I really hope the new year offers great and wonderful things for everyone and for the weight loss and great health we are searching and striving towards!

Checking in!

I may have overslept today, but man was i tired. I am not used to going to bed at 11:30/12:00 at night, my body is now used to going to bed early between 8-9 and getting up between 5-6. Yesterday I ended up driving all over the place and I am not a fan of driving, makes me feel really tired, and then I tried to go to the gym last night and I was unsuccessful. I forgot to bring my workout pants with me and then headed home and just got so busy that I didn't end up going.

Well lets hope today will be a better day!

So it has been two days since I was able to post and I will just keep trying until I get it to everyday! I ended up getting to meet Jennifer from our Fremont Sparkers team at Planet Fitness last night. It was wonderful to be on the treadmill, walk and talk to someone while exercising. 30 minutes went by and I couldn't believe it.

So today I have yet to go and exercise, but I also had a telephone interview and I have a re-employment interview with edd later today! So cross your fingers Sparkers!! :D

Good Morning Fremont Sparkers!
I don't know if anyone will read these, but here it goes.

I only started to really work out last week when all of a sudden my sleeping schedule and attitude did a 180 on me. For months I had been staying up all night, watching tv and eating junk food, sleeping most of the day, putting off my homework until the last day, and just being a fat lazy lady. Well I guess my body had enough and switched things up on me. I can't say I blame it! So now I am getting up every morning, eating healthier options, going to the gym and just trying to push myself in to a healthier me.

So I am up today to start posting and keeping track of what I am doing daily here on my spark page and this team page.

I work out at Planet Fitness at the end of Mowry, sometimes in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon, and almost everyday! So if anyone want to join me let me know! I am always happy to meet someone new and work out together.

Lets get healthy Fremont!

I live in 7 hills on the fremont/union city border and walking around the hills here is a great workout. I also like walking around quarry lakes---or riding my bike around there too. Anyone care to get together for a walk or bike ride around? leave me a note

This is the first time I checked out the Fremont Sparkers page, even though I joined it when I signed up for Sparkpeople in February.

I'll just throw this post out there in case anyone is looking.

So I am hoping to lose 7 pounds in the next 7 weeks. I know it is lofty for me, but I need something to get me on track. The problem is mostly my eating habits. I walk my dog pretty much every day, and I go hiking up Mission Peak every other week or so, and I go the gym once a week. It's just that I make poor choices when it comes to the food I eat.

I hope we can encourage each other and support each other in our healthy goals!

I wish I had known there was going to be a walk, my backyard is behind Lake Elizabeth and I would have loved to join you and meet some of the Fremont Sparkers. Was there a post on the teams site? I haven't seen one maybe next time there could be a single post as things get overlooked on the general thread. Going to go for a bike ride with family on the Alameda creek trail it's a nice trail to ride my kids get a kick out of watching the AC boats race. Have a great day! emoticon

Hi Debbie, Yes, I enjoyed the walk around Lake Elizabeth. I hadn't done that in probably 20 years. :-( For other Fremont Sparkers - I recommend it. Really interesting wildlife, pets, children, people participating in many varied activities. It was great! Yes, we did conflict with the Pete Stark meeting, and that may have discouraged some others from joining us. I hope we try it again soon! Marlyn

It was so nice to meet a few of our sparkers today - Thanks JimWise and Marlyn for showing up and walking around Lake Elizabeth. My apologies if I missed anyone that came. It was poorly planned and I'll do better next month. My Popps is in the hospital, so trying to stay in touch long distance. I go up on Friday. I don't like the fact that my parents are aging and they are not close by :(

Sujus! I love their 'special' coffees and visit them when I've lost a couple pounds here and there. It's my reward system. I know we shouldn't use food as rewards - but it keeps me honest, and I'm saving money by not having one whenever I please. Take care and stay nourished! emoticon

Jimwise here, Though I've been a sparker for seven months I still don't know how to use the site that well.

Yay - My mom and popps arrived - ready to spoil baby and Kelly. I reached my daily calorie total before 5pm today so stopped eating (still full so no big deal) and even got to go for a quick 2 mile run while everyone was eating. Yay! Feel the burn - and I broke into a 10:45 avg mile pace for 2 miles.

Got a little indulgent this morning. Have been very much back in line with my eating plan since returning from a business trip last week, doing well so far - but am getting VERY hungry in the afternoon and evening, to the point of lightheadedness. That's not good, so I have given myself permission to eat a little more (300-500 calories over my budget) to keep going. This is also keeping me from exercising, so maybe I need to bump it up a little more.

This morning, stopped off for a small mocha and an "oatjack" at Sujus on Thornton. (Yay Sujus!) That was definitely a pretty indulgent breakfast, so that will replace at least 2 of my shakes today. (I'm on http://www.medifast1.com a 600-calorie-a-day meal replacement diet, but am doing it 'loosely', shall we say?)

Hopefully the rest of the day will go well. Good luck and have a great day, Fremont Sparkers!

If I eat right and exercise, the weight will fall off eventually by itself.

Feel starved since didnt' really eat dinner - just fruits since lunch was at Peony's in Los Altos - I tried to eat small portions but we had a group of 11 and everyone ordered a dish. I still think I did ok and tried to only eat the meat and any vegetables I could. Got in my 5 fruits/veggies. Will do better tomorrow - back to my home packed lunch :) yay.

Hi Emcesco - it's easier getting the exercise out of the way earlier for me, but on Tuesday and Thursday I do get a "second chance" as at my daycare I have to get baby at 5pm. For now with it being light until 8pm that leaves lots of time for "creative" ways to exercise with my baby. But - relaxation is also important for the mind and soul, so just taking time for you is good as well.
Aprila - I remember those "almost out of the stroller days" - the days I carted it everywhere only to have Kelly want to walk and then the days I didn't bring it, and she had to be carried! good luck! Maybe a wagon? That way you can put groceries in it and maybe he will want to ride or help pull?

The weekends are so hard to stay on track. So many temptations that I have a hard controlling. Exercising is always a thought but I just don't get out and take advantage. Like this morning at 6:30 am thought I should go for a walk instead sat,read and checked email. The day is still early. Maybe a walk around Lake Elizabeth later. Have a good day.

I usually get home from work and take my kid(s) to the store to pick up dinner for the day (although I have not been able to do that this week. but I know if I drive I buy too much but if we walk its just what fit under the stroller. The bad thing now is my son wants to walk and so that means I have to carry with we buy, and hold his hand... LOL.. makes for an interesting trip thats for sure.. but wow does it keep me going. =)

Aprila - glad you got up and walked - next time it'll be a little farther and then it may turn into something you look forward to. I am trying to make my daycare early work days the days I go to the store - I pickup the baby bring him home, get him in his stroller and then we walk to the store. It is a relaxing change of pace and I only buy what I can put in the bottom of the stroller so mostly fruits/veggies :)

Its w-o-r-k-i-n-g!!!!!! As much as I don't feel like walking at 7:30 in the morning I have to admit once I get around Lake Elizabeth I DO FEEL GOOD! My food choices are much better thanks to the Nutrition tracker. I even used someone's suggestion to make it a menu- meal planner for the day. Some days I stick to it, other I make substitutions, it all works. I'm happy. emoticon

Well Hello all! Its the beginning of a new month and I am tired! LOL.... ok, but I am trying I am getting my new supply of vitamins and I sure hope they help get me going!! OK After being lazy all weekend I picked myself up this morning, got on the exercise bike and did 30 minutes.

Welcome Debbie, Thank you for becoming a team leader!
Do to 2 knee replacements in the last 6 months I haven't been on here as much as I'd like.(it was hard to sit in this chair for very long!)
It well be nice for someone to guide us along!
I just started back to weight watchers at the Hub. Thankfully I haven't gained any after all this time off!!Between that & Sparkpeople I know I can lose another 50lbs!
