Not a problem! I know the weather was a bit daunting, and lots going on on weekends. We'll see you soon I'm sure.

Well, we were small in number, and well bundled up, but we had a great time this morning out on the Rillito River Walk!

AMESCALBEAR55 and SARYFAIRY12's +1, Tom, and I met, and did a 2.25 mile loop, got to chat, and also got to see all sorts of barn yard critters! There was a fund raiser 5k going on for a local farm and the trail had chickens, goats, sheep and bunnies!

We did a brief look through the exchange box and AMESCALBEAR55 got a great Pilates resource and I got a juicing book that helps address different health conditions.

All in all it was a fun morning!

As the SparkMails said, anyone can set up an event, or if you want to do an impromptu walk/event, feel free to post it in one of the discussion forums. It's a great way to get out, meet folks and be active at the same time!

Hi, I just joined SparkPeople and saw this Tucson team. I would love to attend a rally or get to know others here in town that also like this site.
I would be able to donate a few pizza certificates to a rally ( I know....pizza? but there is a thin crust version offered that has half the calories and half the fat of a regular pizza).

I'll keep checking back to keep posted on any upcoming events.

Thanks, I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi MamaHomesteader! I think I remember seeing you at that rally - it's the one at the River Walk, right? You have/had the chickens?

Either way, welcome back! :)

So have done some re-thinking and realizing that I, along with most other folks here are super duper busy, and I know with the holidays coming up I don't even /want/ to think about adding more work to the overloaded schedule, so I've got another plan that I'll send out a team email about shortly.

Thanks for all the feedback and if anyone is excited about setting up a rally, please let Julee_D and I know!!

Thanks!

I was a member many years ago, but just came back to SP this week. I attended what I believe was the 2nd rally and will attend any that are set up.

So the questions are:

1) If the world doesn't end in December, does this sound like fun and something you'd attend?! Definitely!
2) If it is something you'd want to do, would the weekend of the 12th or 19th be good? Either weekend as far as I know.
3) Any ideas/requests for activities? I enjoyed the walk with my friends and the raffle was really neat also!
4) Any volunteers to help get this organized? I have so much on my plate that I cannot volunteer to organize this, but am willing to make a couple of phone calls and see if I can get some donations for the raffle, might even be able to come up with a 1 month, quart a week of a goats milk herd membership type of thing if someone would be interested in it.

Perfect!

I like the idea of folks bringing in fitness items for trade. As for raffel prizes, I'll think on different options...

Thanks! :)

I do still have the fitness exchange box - there are several workout DVDs in it. There may be other fitness equipment in there, I'm not sure as I haven't looked at it closely in a while.

I will be unable to donate any big ticket raffle prizes as I've done in the past.

Hi all!

So there was discussion at the Rally a few weeks back of having another one in January to kick off the new year on the right foot... maybe do a recipe/exercise equipment swap, meet an accountability buddy, do a walk, and just hang out.

So the questions are:

1) If the world doesn't end in December, does this sound like fun and something you'd attend?!
2) If it is something you'd want to do, would the weekend of the 12th or 19th be good?
3) Any ideas/requests for activities?
4) Any volunteers to help get this organized?

Thanks!!
