Welcome back. I am sorry to read about the difficulties you have gone through. That was THEN and this is NOW. So kick up your heels, don't look back, and let's go forward! PasterClint's analogy is perfect. So, brush yourself off, lift your chin high, and with all of us here, we'll change our ways NOW!

Hi Bonnijean

Thank you for the kind words. I was reading your Spark Page and I agree with you 100%. I never want to see another seat belt extension in the Airliners ever again. I want to be able to lower the table on the air plane and not have it on an angle do to my belly.

I have about 120 pounds to go myself.

God Bless you on your Race/Journey. I pray we both clear all the hurdles from hear on out.

Peace and Joy be yours
Clint

Clint's answer is so on target, that there isn't much to add. However, I will say that you've come to the right place for tools and support.

Hi CRANKY29732,

I don't think there are too many people here who don't know about reversals. I know I have had them many times.

I heard a preacher preach once about Paul running the race. He used Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

He made many good points but the one that struck a cord with me was this. In the hurdles if an athlete hits the top of the hurdle and falls over with it, he does not get up and go back to the beginning. He gets back on his feet and keeps on going from the point where he fell.

Just because we fell and did some damage to ourselves we do not have to go to the beginning. All we have done in the past is still valid in teaching us how to get back on our feet and keep pushing for the prize.

Once I heard that I looked at how many times I would become defeated thinking I have to start over. How dumb for me to go back there. I just need to keep running towards the goal, even if I fall again. The beginning line is history. All we have left is the finish line.

I hope this encourages you as it has encouraged me.

emoticon We can do it.
Love Clint

Hey everyone. I'm a newbie to Sparkpeople. I'm currently learning everything that this website has to offer.

I am by no means a newbie to weightloss. I started out 5 years ago at 260 lbs. Within two years I lost 100 lbs. I was down to 156 at my lowest point and kept it off for 1 year and a half. Then I started putting it back on. My mother was told her cancer was terminal and I started letting myself slide.

It's been down hill since then. She passed a year and a half ago and I started out this week at 190 lbs. Extremely disappointing. I have been featured in Biggest Loser Club emails and in one of their books and then I let myself go.

I am here for a fresh start. I can do this and I will do this. I have found the food tracking has been a huge thing for me.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. :)
