Next question. I am assuming that 1 cup of icecream means the little 3-4 ounce tubs that you can get icecream in and not a proper measuring cup of icecream? That would be nearly 1000 calories if it is a measuring cup.

Also here in Australia a frankfurt is considered a sausage. Those and what we use to BBQ are about 1/2-3/4" thick and about 6-8" long. I think you what you guys call a sausage is things like mettwurst, bratwurst etc isn't it? About 2 inches thick and about a foot long?

It is always interesting how different countries have different names for things.

Thanks SSTEPTOES I had sort of assumed a hotdog must be a frankfurt type of thing. In Australia we have a long skinny frankfurt that goes into our hotdogs (has the red skin on it).

So now I can perhaps try this for something different. I think sometimes we need something to give us another little kickstart.

Thanks again,
Jennylee

Hi HONEYBEAR1461:

A hot dog is a Frankfurter. Not the same as a sausage of any kind. A hot dog is skinny and goes on a small soft roll just made for them.

Hope this helps.

The diet is incredibly high in fat, salt and cholesterol. Most of the cals come from a few foods, like the hot dogs and ice cream.

Day One: 1035 cals
Day Two: 1020 cals
Day Three: 1040 cals

It has been known as: American Heart Association 3 day diet; 3 Day Heart diet; 3 Day Cardiac diet; Kaiser 3 day diet; Hospital 3 day diet; Bubbas 3 day diet; D. Perricone 3 day diet; Baptist Hospital 3 day diet; Hershey Medical Center 3 day diet; Birmingham England Cardiology 3 day diet; Florida 3 day diet; Ochner 3 day diet; 3 day Navy diet, Birmingham cardiac diet, and 3 day Army diet.

I have a question.

What do you guys classify a "Hot dog" as please?

Here in Australia an Hot Dog is a red skinned sausage wrapped in a long bread roll - I am guessing that can't be what you guys call a hot dog if so that is around 460 calories for the 2 rolls, then 374 calories for the two sausages that go in the rolls. Way too many calories. Not to mention the fat content.

Please enlighten this Aussie girl as to what is meant by the 2 hotdogs listed for one of the dinner meals.

Thankyou,
Jennylee

I just wanted to say that you don't need a "diet", you need a meal plan! Honestly that is the only way you are going to develop good habits that will last a life time.

I've been on 1,000 diets and I am not the first to say they don't work because they are not sustainable. You can lose weight on a diet true, but what are you going to do when you come off of that diet?

Go on a "meal plan" that you can be on for the rest of your life. Follow the guidelines for a healthy life style that will fit your situation and your bady type and fight the good fight right here with us, learning to stick with the basics and enjoy incredible success.

We laugh, we cry, we sweat, we fall down and we get back up. Then we laugh some more.

I just finished doing this diet, and I lost 9 pounds in 3 day. I am so excited i did it exactly as it says and i was a little hungry especially the last day. But i am so happy, I want to do it again in 3 days. BTW what happens if instead of 4 days i wait only 2? Will i still loose weight?

Thank You :)

Which info would you like?

BTW-after three days I was down four pounds-and that was three days with no extra exercise. I start again tomorrow, but so far I haven't gained back any of the weight I lost during the three days.

Wow seven pounds is good. It works if you stick to it exactly. I worked out during those three days and lost 9 pounds. It seems to vary for different people. Good luck!!!

I tried this diet about 14 years ago. I didn't lose any weight and the plain tuna made me throw up.

I understand that the reason I wanted to try it. I felt my scale was sitting idle for too long. Its given me a boost to keep working; a motivator for me. Day 5 and still have maintained the pounds lost. I hope I can keep doing well over the weekend.

Thanks. I'm sort of interested in this to see if I can get the weight moving again. It's been pretty slow going the past few months.

I believe it was mostly water too so I'm going to test it after the four day and see what happens next week. I've worked out a menu schedule for the next four days and hopefully keep myself in check. Will keep you all posted. Thanks!!!!

Thats great Ettie_R. A lot of the 9 pounds was probally water, but maybe you had to get rid of it anyway. Keep us up to date on how it's going for you and if the weight stays off over the next 4 days.

I finished the 3-day diet yesterday and I lost a total of 9 pounds in three days. The diet worked for me. I'll be eating regularly for the next four days and then start again next week for 3 days. I also exercised everyday but not as much as I usually do. I didn't feel weak or starved although I am use to a low caloried diet already. I was curious about this diet and wanted to see if it was possible. I know 4 other people who are doing it and they are seeing some sucess. However if you cheat, it won't work. I'm enjoying my normal diet food again. I'm over my plateau which was what I was hoping for.

I started this diet today. I'm use to low calorie diets so I think I can handle this for 3 days. I did a little research some positive and negative reviews. I'm the type that needs to try it out for myself. 3 days doesn't sound so bad. The remainder 4 days I'll got back to my regular diet and see hat happens. After day 3 I'll check with the scale and see how much I lost. I'm skeptical so I'll also weight myself at the end of the week for a total real loss.

Thanks. I'll give it some more consideration before trying it. I was really hoping maybe some members that have tried it could tell me how it worked for them.

I had a quick look at it and it doesn't seem that bad. Theres fruit, veggies, protein and good stuff but it's going to get boring in a hurry. The trouble with these diets is that it isn't something you can do the rest of your life. It's better to start eating healthy right off the bat and do something you can learn to live with.

Someone my daughter works with gave her a copy of this diet. Can anyone tell me is it for real or just one of the millions of concocted diets that someone labels to get you to try it? Any information or feedback on this would be appreciated.
Thanks!
