Welcome, Shelley, to the team. I am sorry you don't feel you are off to a good start with this team and hope you will give it some time. Like JCEDIT mentioned I, too, say you other post titled 'Surprised'. You started this thread a little before 11PM my time PST and posted the 'Surprised' thread around 6:30AM. That really doesn't give team members much of a chance to respond. As it has been mentioned, we all have other obligations to meet. During the hours between your first post and second I was sleeping, then it was up to workout, eat breakfast and off to work, then home, workout, prepare dinner, eat and after all that I have a chance to check in with SP. Sometimes teams, including this one will be quiet because members are busy with life. But, I have found the members on this team are supportive when time allows and given the chance. I have found participating in team challenges helps to keep me motivated. We have just started a new challenge this month, part of which is centered around this month being the month including Valentine's. Part of the challenge is to help us strengthen our marriages and the other part is to help strengthen our bodies. We would love to have you join in with us in this challenge.
I only belong to a few teams, because I am co-leader of another team. I have found the members to be supportive, but I see fewer people posting on this team. However, I mostly post in the monthly forum.
I too just saw your post surprised. I can only get on Sparkpeople in the evening, and tonight I didn't get home until 7pm. I hope you find the support you need. We did just start a Valentine's Day challenge. You may want to join us.

Welcome to SP, Shelly! I am just seeing this post now. I also saw your post labeled "Surprised."
I've been on SP for over 2 years and found this team early in my experience. I find this team helpful and supportive. I think the challenges are quite effective.
Like any team effort, much depends on the members and leaders--all of whom are volunteers--balancing a wide variety of family, professional, and personal needs. Every one of us here is somehow creating the time to be active on this site to the best of his/her ability.
Personally, I use the nutrition and fitness trackers first, read articles and learn new things next, then participate on team challenges and discussions last, depending upon how much time I have. These are my SP priorities; others' will be different.
I would suggest you try a few teams first, learn how to use some of the tools on the site, and read from the vast library of articles.
I try to limit my teams to about 12-15 and have joined and dropped many over the years I've been here. I've kept this team for a long time as every month of participation brings me something new.
I'm not much for daily board discussions (especially the chit-chat, I prefer that face-to-face) but try to post when I can.
As you use the site more, you will find what works best for you and how your experience here can be maximized.

Okay so right now I am looking for someone to help me or maybe even someone I am held accountable to but I am not sure if this is the right team for this? Are you a pretty supportive group or do you only interact with the successful ones. I know I have been very unsuccessful and that is only my fault but it is very difficult when you feel like you do everything right and still dont loose so then you feel like it doesn't matter you will just give up!! That is kinda where I am at but don't want to be there. Does anyone else feel this way?
