Nope. Not really today. Tomorrow is another day, thank goodness.
Although I had to giggle. I love logic puzzles, suduko puzzles, etc. DH isn't a big fan, though. Anyway, I saw a brand new logic puzzle book at the store today when I was there and put it on his dresser to wrap for me for Christmas, as sometimes he doesn't mind a hint or two of what to get me. Anyway, I wrote a note on the book saying, 'Here's a Christmas present for *insert pet name here that we use interchangeably*.' He came into the office and seemed all embarrassed and flustered. "Um, honey," he said. "Um, thanks, but I don't really like logic puzzles. I thought you knew that." He looked so sweet, and obviously didn't want to hurt my feelings! What a sweetie! He looked relieved when I explained my idea!

Didn't get alot of talk time today, we are babysitting our 3 year old grandaughter, Ellie. It's hard to fit a word in edgewise with her!!! Gotta love her!!!

Great CJ! We'll have our talk time tonight when my hubby comes home from work today!
Thanks. I quit January 4 at 7:33 pm. LOL Gained 15 pounds for my good deed! sigh I've noticed that the more time goes by the less me and my hubby talk and when we do its because emotions boil over and then its just hateful words hollered at each other. Not healthy. We just haven't had any US time since we started having kids. We're just mom and dad, we've lost the husband and wife part. Sorry I'm sure you weren't expecting all that.LOL As you can see its been trying here lately.

We don't always. We struggle to get more than a few seconds together a lot of weeks.
I think that being aware that we are not getting much time to re-connect is the first step in perhaps getting some time together.
Especially when our habits change (as yours did with stopping smoking), the trick is figuring out when and how.
Woo-hoo on the quitting, by the way!

I've been out of the loop for awhile but do most couples have "talk time"? I've noticed ever since I stopped smoking that we've lost our connection. We don't sit outside in the morning with our coffee like we use to. Wow didn't realize how much that bothers me until now....

A little bit. Our great lunch turned out badly as my son wouldn't get off the phone when we called home to check on them. Kind of put us in a grumpy mood.

but looking forward to Friday - it is an inservice at work and he and I are two of the only ones staying on campus - we can work in our own offices but then go out for a long lunch together!

This evening we took time out and sat, had a drink and had a good time talking. I alway enjoy our time together, no tv, just each other catching up.

Yes! He just got home a bit ago and we had our talk time and are now watching a movie together! Actually, I'm typing and he's watching -- but we're together and that's what counts!
Me too. My dh awoke at 6 am this morning when our son's alarm went off an hour early. DH returned to bed, but I was awake at that point, and proceeded to talk his head off! Poor guy. I bet he really wanted to get in a bit more sleep. Oh well. We had a great talk instead!

My dh surprised me Sunday night by asking me what my plans were for the evening and then telling me he wanted to watch a romantic movie with me. We have been so busy lately we haven't even watched a half hour show on television as we just flop exhausted into bed every night. It was nice to laugh and cuddle together while watching a sweet movie.

Not today, but last night we had our "date night" and it was wonderful! We went out to dinner, bar to listen to music, play shuffle board, air hockey and pool, then to a movie and went home and watched tv until we fell asleep. Plus we wanted to get home and kiss our 4 year old son goodnight, but he was sound asleep. What a great night that was!!! :)
Actually we were making up for our 6 year Anniversary on Halloween that we missed celebrating due to illnesses.
You got it, CJ! And, today being Tuesday and my hubby will be working his part-time job tonight -- it'll be a quick phone call while I'm at work around 3 and then I'll see him again after 9 tonight. What schedules! But, as long as we grab those minutes as they come -- we're doing it!
I shared something with my dh today, so we had about 3 minutes talk time! Better than nothing.

Great, Melissa! Keep that communication coming -- best thing for a marriage! Love it! And, I had my "talk time" with my hubby this evening also! At least he didn't have to work and he's home, so it's catch up time!
My dh and I struggle with this. Especially at this time of year. Our children (teens and a tween) are in two sports each at the beginning of the school year, my dh is a vice principal, and I work in the school too so we're crazy with schedules. The last three weeks are a blur. Fortunately, things are starting to slow a bit as cross-country draws to a close, and volleyball is winding up soon.
I miss my dh! We haven't watched a movie together, played a card game, or really TALKED for quite a while!

Today is another day where I probably won't see my hubby for longer than 5 minutes around 3 this afternoon -- and then he'll be off and back home around 9. Busy schedules sure do take that so-needed "talk time" -- but we need to remember to "TAKE the time" to do it and I'll get mine in after 9 this evening.
We don't "do" mornings. We get up at different times and both have a short morning routine and are out the door. However there is always a good-bye kiss or greeting if I'm in the shower.

I'm just adding this post as I think with everyone's schedules, careers, children, and various activities, it gets hard to have that one-on-one talk with your spouse in a day! So, let's share if we were able to get in our "talk time" -- all part of having a strong relationship and marriage!
And, I haven't had my talk time yet today as my hubby works a part-time job a few evenings a week, so when he gets home in a bit -- it's time to catch up on each of our days!
