I went to a ladies tea and enjoyed all the goodies then later that night went to my High School reunion and had a few beers on top of all the goodies I had enjoyed earlier in the day...oops But thats ok! Back on track now and trying to think of what I can eat on my trip out of town next week for work.. I am not gonna stres over it! Just remember I have a GOAL!!

Stress affects me a lot. I don't actually have a stressful life, far from it, but I do worry a lot and that sometimes interrups my sleep.

I am getting my 8 hours but I have to sleep in some if I get the chance or go to bed earlier than normal for me. The biggest problem is I usually wake up with mild headaches.

Oh no. Sorry to hear you are suffering from sleep issues you guys. Not getting adequate sleep can affect so many aspects of our lives! It really is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle. All the best in conquering the sleep disturbances and getting into regular routines again.

Hello girls...I am dealing with psoriasis and have been suffering from an itchy scalp. So at night when it gets so bad I take melatonin and Benadryl. When combined a get a good night sleep.
If you know anybody suffering from psoriasis tell them to join the Psoriasis Support Team. We need to support each other and hopefully share homeopathic treatment.

Melatonin is a vitamin and my Mom used to take as well to help her with sleep as well but for her it didn't work very good. I think her thyroid problems have a lot to do with that. Well yesterday my rummage sale went pretty good with my mother in law and just so glad it's over. Now ready for this week to settle down some but next weekend is Sarah's birthday so will be getting ready for her big party. WOW!!

I did try nitol at one time but I felt so awful the next day that I decided not to take anything. I think this lack of sleep is emphasising the flashes so I have to try and get back into a normal night sleep. Thing is that I worry so much and my mind seems to wake up when I am really very tired.

Melatonin is a hormone produced in the brain by the pineal gland from the amino acid tryptophan. The synthesis and release of melatonin are stimulated by darkness and suppressed by light, suggesting the involvement of melatonin in circadian rhythm and regulation of diverse body functions. Levels of melatonin in the blood are highest prior to bedtime.
Synthetic melatonin supplements have been used for a variety of medical conditions, most notably for disorders related to sleep.

For sleeping problems you can try melatonin, it works well for me.

Oh dear, that's upsetting. But you may have something about the sleep. When we don't get enough, our body seems to hold on to its weight.

That sounds great cj. I had a steak and kidney pie today with no pots just cabbage and fruit to follow, although I did have a small piece of bread to mop up the gravy. The I think I blew it this evening when I had a scrabbled egg, bacon and mushroom wrap followed by more fruit. There are times when I just have to eat. Next week I am out for a morning's late breakfast and an buffet dinner on Friday. I think I will have to wait for next week to pass before I get back on track. I am also very tired as I haven't been sleeping well. So not a good week this week. The weighing scales showed I was 1.5 kilos more than I thought.

on your good choices!
You know what I noticed? (and I am posting a mini blog about it in a minute). I did a 'whole food' challenge last week. Practically every food/meal I put in my mouth was from scratch. It was either 'as God made it', like fresh fruit and veggies, or lean meats, or else as close to its natural state as possible. The only thing I had non-whole foods was milk (it's hard to get raw milk) and two meals out.
Anyway, so what I noticed was that although I went over my higher calorie limit (1760, I think) some days, by eating mostly whole foods, I still lost almost 4 pounds. I guess WHAT I eat is just as important as HOW MUCH I eat.

Hello Ladies!! Today is a good day for me. I did well on my calorie in take. I budgeted and made a good choice of meals. I ate a lot of fruits today. I eat rice today which makes me very happy!! I am not weighing in until Sunday. So until then....
I will not work out until July since that is part of my plan...I have posted my plan on my blog.
Can't wait for the weekend...

Maybe you will be fooled and have lost more than you think. I have not been doing bad with food intake but not getting the exercise in this week due to Sarah being clingy. With the older kids here they usually can help me pacify her but with them being gone it has really hurt getting the exercise in. I have gotten alot of cleaning done though and getting my yard sale together as well. I just hope I sell it all and don't have any to bring back home. Ready for the next challenge to begin.

Hello I have noticed that I have been having a highly acidic stomach, I guess it is due to very low calorie in take. Today I did not make 900, I am a bit lower than 1100. I want my body to get used to the low calorie in take before I work out. Low Calorie intake can cause passing out.
Over all I am doing good!! Best of all I am happy to be back.

Good idea to raise your calories, Christine. 900 is way too low for health.
Thanks for all the hugs, guys. I sure needed them!

Today I decided to increase my calorie in take, my goal is still 900 per day BUT I will be okay if my in take will be 1,000 to 1,200.
I can't wait to work out. I am just building up on my energy and getting use to the lower calorie in take. My goal is to start my work out program by July 1st.

I did bad today it is always bad during this time of the month. I feel weak, grouchy and I crave. Girls you know this time (unfortunately it comes every month). So I was not able to maintain my calories, I went 400 over...from 900 to 1270. However, I know I am doing the very low calorie diet. Some part of me feels but part of me wants to say oh well....tomorrow is another day.

Hello Friends, I am doing fine with "MY PLAN", I have seen progress from the . I do not feel deprived of the low calories offered by the 5/1 Medifast which I modified plan. My calorie intake is 900 to 1100 calories but there are days when I barely make 900. If you wish to read more about my plan please visit my blog. It is hard for the first few days but now, day 6, I feel great!!

Way to go girl. I haven't done the weigh in yet because I have been so busy getting the kids ready to start church camp on Monday. It's as bad as getting things ready to begin school which I also got that list as well for next year. Boy life stays busy for me and in a couple of weeks my little one will be 1 so throwing her a little party as well. Christine hang in there and I will try to email you when I can but I may not hit every day girl with all I have going on right now. I know you can do this so just hang in there and God will show you the way. I wish you all a great weekend and have a family reunion to attend tomorrow for my husbands side of the family.

Hi Christine! Long time no see. We've missed you!
I am taking one goal and one day at a time as well. It's the only way to do this. Otherwise we get too overwhelmed and we are defeated before we start.

That all I ever do Christine. Some days I have bad one but now for most days I have mostly good. I bought and read the Spark book and it really helped me get jump started. I don't know if you have bought it yet but you might check it out at the book store and see what you think. It has been a great tool for me.

Lost inches are great!
Another Team I'm on had a great challenge. We kept track of our weight and inches. We got to stay in the challenge if we lost weight, or we lost inches. If we didn't do either we were out, but it was great for those weeks when we might gain, but lost inches. It was great fun. We should do that here maybe.
What do you guys think?

I haven't changed my weight for weeks, but I did loose those inches, so I am not too worried. Here's to another week!!!

I'm glad the scale is moving in the right direction, rewarding your hard work!
I would rather it be sunny and cooler than a bit warmer with clouds!

I wasn't able to have children, and it took time getting over it, in fact I never really did. But I am able to put my energy into trying to help others and to make a life for myself without them. The positive side of this is that I put all my faith in God, I know that whatever I do he is with me and giving me all the strength I need to cope.

Thanks for sharing your story. I love to hear positive, uplifting situations like that. Just when we despair, things turn out well in the end.

I totally agree with the God's plan. When we went to have our kids we littlerly got pregnant with our oldest the 1st month!! And I had just come off the pill too... Then with our second, that was a whole nother story! We were really beginging to wonder if it was going to happen. We had been trying for over a year when out of the blue my hubby asked me if I'd gotten my 'visitor' and it could hurry up so he'd know I wasn't pregnant (things were bad at his work - who did end up closing) but in God's plan... Suprise your pregnant! And we got our little Sammy! It's amazing the way things work out. I lost my job with our first and was able to be home with him for 18 months, and with our second my hubby lost his job and is able to be home with him. God's plan!!!
I gues I tell that to reinforce you just have to believe and hang in there. If it is meant to be it will be and worrying about wont help at all!!!

That's true. I always wanted another child after my youngest, but it hasn't happened yet, and at my age now, it probably never will. I guess God's plan was different than mine. I've accepted it now, though, as I realize it is His plan, not mine. There has been opportunity, but it just never happened.

Thanks for the thoughts. I wonder if I'll be able to have more, but if it's truly meant to happen it will. God has a plan for everyone.
That is a difficult cross to bear, FRANCESCA1955. I will pray that God will see you through this new suffering.

I had to come to terms with not being able to have children, and boy it was tough. Now I am having to come to terms with hot flashes and weariness, but with God's help I do see through my day and manage to cope.
It's not easy trying to conceive but I do wish you the very best of luck and hope that you will succeed.
Glad you're feeling better. All the best when you try to conceive! I know some women have trouble when coming of the Pill.

I'm finally doing better. :) I love my birth control pill. I may not want to come off it, but I desperately want another child with my husband, so I have to.
That's wonderful that you both can be such role models for your children!
I remember working out with my youngsters next to me. Even now, my older dd (15!) will ask to strength train with me. It is precious time together.

I am feeling great this 'Fat Tuesday!' between our site and the book I feel I am really on track! It is so cute even my 5yr old is getting into it, he 'worked out' the other night with some of my stuff. So cute! I want to set a good example for him & his brother. I am feeling my energy coming back! Yea! So I used it yesterday to clean my house, it's not spotless but it's better!

Hey Anna! Congrats on your beautiful little girl!! I would love to suggest a team I am also a member of called 'Breastfeeding Moms' it is a wonderful team and has lots of support. It really helped me when my Sammy was little and I needed lots of support dealing with breastfeeding and weight loss. It's nice to be able to talk with people who have the same issues. Check it out! Enjoy that little baby!!

Hey Anna! Good to see you! Your daughter is beautiful, congratulations to you and your dh!
Definitely keep your weight loss goals on hold for now. You are recovering from birth and your body needs a few extra calories to maintain your milk supply (500 calories a day or thereabouts).
Happy nursing and have a great year with your new little one!

I hear you about the hot shower and into bed, that's exactly what I feel like doing, but I suppose I have to feed my children and do some laundry. *sigh*

Just ate my dinner. Now I just want to take a hot shower and get in bed. But will have to walk the puppy, in the freshly falling snow.
I was at the gym and did an hour of circuit training. Man does that make me want to take a nap. :)

Thank goodness! I am eating a lot lately. It's sooooooo cold here (-40 with the wind chill) that I want to eat warming foods or drink hot cocoa all day! Not good for the program!
