Actually thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. We are both really getting excited about just spending some time together.

Beautiful, Bridget! Thanks for sharing that. And thanks, too, for getting us back to the real topic. I had hijacked it there for a bit.

Abetterme77,

Try warm massage oil and give each other an all over massage. I am not saying a sexual massage. Massaging the hands, face, back, legs, all over...gives you a chance to relax with each other and get to know each other intamately, lovingly, sincerely, deeply again. Remind each other why you love each other and how much you have missed one another.

My husband works out of town. And yes sometimes this leads to making love but quite often it just leads to a good feeling of knowing he still loves me and we end up falling to sleep in each others arms. Our massages take no less than an hour each and we talk to each other the entire time. The first time my husband massaged me; with each body part such as the eyes he told me he loved my eyes because without having to speak the way I look at him tells him I need him and still think he is sexy; my hands, are strong to take care of my daughter and I while he is away yet soft enough to hold his hand when we go through something stressful; my feet because they allow me to walk a mile in despiration if I need to but run to him when he gets home... it's just little things like this that remind us of why we can keep going.

Bridget

I wish you well with your weightloss, then, because I would love to see your stuff when you are ready.

Good Sign and Good Luck!

I do some stand up...I actually go to church groups, mostly women's groups and make them laugh and then give them a message that God is with them always no matter what, if HE can put up with me and still love me, He definitely loves them! emoticon .
I was inspired by Women Of Faith Speakers and Kerri Pomerolli (if you look up Kerri, her and I speak and act on stage about the same way) I'm working on getting some things on my myspace and youtube. I really want to lose weight though before I put myself on a camera! Whale vs Seahorse (whale, pretty BIG Seahorse Has Curves! That's the only visuals I could come up with at the moment. I don't know where that came from. happens sometimes, random chaos.

I'm going home from work now and making dinner and then going to my MK meeting. I would would really rather stay home though. They miss me though if I'm not there. I missed last week and my phone and e-mail was blowing up the next day. It's nice to be wanted.

take care and keep in touch!

You're welcome!
I've been using SparkPeople since July of 2007. I was going great guns the first 6 months, plateaued and stayed the same weight for a month or so and got a bit discouraged but didn't give up! I kept going and lost a bit more. I then (near a year) thought I should be at goal but wasn't and got even more discouraged again. I have been in a holding pattern for quite a while now and have just recently decided that I need to get my rear back in gear if I am ever going to get to goal.

Yesterday I wrote a sign for my fridge that says : DECIDE!! It reminds me that I have to decide
(a) whether or not I will reach goal and
(b) make daily choices towards a healthy life.

Wish me luck!

I have historically used sparks fitness and nutrition trackers as well as the boards in my teams to lose weight and find the motivation I need to continue. Up until last week, I had stopped using the trackers and was gaining weight. I am back using them now!

Good luck finding those ways to motivate yourself!

Are you a stand up comedian?

Thanks for your reply to my blog I couldn't figure out how to comment back or if I even could. I am somewhat techy challenged. LOL

How long have you been using SP? How do you use them? I check the blogs and teams comments everyday, all day and I love to read everyone's thoughts and encouragement to each other. I really need someone breathing down my back though to get me motivated sometimes. When I was in WW going to the meetings and having them say you gained a pound are you ok with that? MY ANSWER NONONONO! helped me so much! Oh and my Mom telling me she would buy me a $100.00 outfit when I made it to my goal helped to.

One of my friends here at work challenged me to do the mini martathon with her this spring in May, that should be some motivation.

I LOVE that saying! I use it in my stand up sometimes.
Have a GREAT tuesday!

I think the replies right now to the original question are great and I have nothing to add.

However, I saw CHBADILO's question and as I didn't know the answer - went in search of it. I will let you know when I have posted this if my test worked.

cj
Edit - heehee. It worked! I now see the words "This is a test. This is only a test." under my ticker on my posts.

I will leave a comment on your page to let you know the details in case you don't see this CHBADILO, but all I did was go to my own sparkpage. I then clicked at the top right hand corner where it says "Edit SparkPage". Once in edit mode, I scrolled down until I came to the spot that says "Personal signature" which is on the right hand side and is a blank box in which you can write info like quotes, scripture readings, etc. There is also a button to use if you wish to add a link to a myspace address or whatever. Save any changes you make and voila! you have a personal box under your posts to call your own. Hope that helps!

We usually go to the movies or go to the beach. Just doing something just us. Just spending time together is a nice change. We need to do that.

Just remember..........one day at a time;-)

Ok, I've been married to my wonderful husband for 18years I should be an expert right. haha j/k
Just snuggling and being together, really being in the moment with each other, not reading while whatching a movie together but just me & him watching the movie together. That works for us. :)

(off note) I see a lot of screens where you write something but it's split with your "myspace" address in it and scriptures and things how do you do that?

What about something you liked to do before kids. We usually go for a walk on the beach or go to the movies. Sometimes we cook a meal that the kids hate but we love.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle

Maybe try watching a movie he likes together with some popcorn or any of the other ideas sound pretty good.

You're married and have 5 kids, so you probably think you know your husband fairly well, right? But what about picking up a "getting to know you" game or one of the If... (by McFarlane) books? They're sure to get you talking, and I know that when my husband has been away for work for awhile, they help to break the ice. So much has probably happened in the last 2 months that you may not even know where to start with a weekend to yourselves. Just a small thought.

Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must first set yourself on fire.

*************

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, breathe, and just hold on till the ride stops...

*************

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think wise, risking more than others think safe, dreaming more than others think practical, and expecting more than others think possible.

Everyone's marriage will be under some amount of stress in their lives. I have been working 72 hours a week for the past 2 months. We have hardly seen each other. We spend what little time we have together but it definately has tested us. This weekend will be our first time together alone - No kids (we have 5), no work - just us! We are going to celebrate no more overtime. Of course it will be the regular romantic things - candles, dinner, music, etc. you know... but I really want to do something special for my husband for all he has had to deal with during this recent time. Anyone have any suggestions?
