My husband has been working out of town from Sunday night through Thursday night every week for the last 7 months. Now they are only coming home every other week. The guys have to eat out every night. My husband always insists he don't care. Then makes sure that we go out to dinner as a family when he gets home knowing that our dd and I don't go out when he's not home. This past weekend he finally admitted that he can't stand eating out because it's not my cooking and no one can cook like me. My hubby doesn't admit to anything like that...he's a man!
So I made him up 5 dinners to take with him and this weekend when he can't come home, our best friend who is just a few hours away from him will take care of him over the weekend and premake some dinners for him for the next week.
I just thought it was really sweet of him to tell me he doesn't want to eat out anymore because no one cooks like me. He's also been calling more in the evenings and stays on the phone with me for an hour or more at a time. Even if we don't actually speak he stays on the phone I think it's just because he knows I'm there.
I know I'm a sap. But this is the first time in a long long time I actually feel like he needs me.

A few weeks ago my speedometer broke on my bike. We bike ride as a family quite a bit and this really bothered me. I had to keep asking my husband how fast we were going so I would know how to log it in for my exercise. So yesterday he came home from work and I went out and ran some errands. When I came home he was working on my bike. I asked what he was doing and he said fixing my speedometer. I didn't think anything of it, went in the house and then a few minutes later he came inside and said I would have to fix my numbers so everything calcualtes right. that he put in my weight as 180 (bless him!!) but wasn't sure and that I needed to go adjust everything so it would show the right amount of calories and fat burned. And I am like what are you talking about?!?!?! My speedometer doesn't do that. And he pulls out an owners manual and hands it to me and says "now it does" He bought me a new one!!! This may not seem like a big deal, but we just made a major move about 3 months ago, his pay got cut when he transferred jobs and I am unemployed. Needless to say we DID NOT have the money for a new speedometer for me. So he went through his wallet and pulled out all his Wal-Mart gift cards. Pooled them all together and with only $2.00 out of our pocket bought me a new snazzy speedometer for my bike! It does everything! Gives you the temperature, tells you how much fat and calories you burn, mileage, speed. More than I would have expected. I am so excited!!! Needless to say, we took the kids to the park riding our bikes so I could try it out!
