this may explain why you gain after exerting yourself more than usual. Whenever I exercise a great deal more than I was previously, or change up my strength training, or do more cardio, etc. I gain weight as well. This is reassuring!

Litte late, but I would like to join in. I want to loose 1 lb a week. I was doing so, but this week seem to be stuck. I always gain a little a couple days after a really long walk. Hopefully my history will cont. to repeat and I will loose the gain + in a couple days. I wonder if it is a water retention?

CPHT03, It can still be possible for you to loose that much weight before Christmas you just have to be patient and positive. i know exactly how it feels because my weight cant seem to be moving either, but i will keep excising and controlling my diet. hopefully by Christmas i will have lost some weight.

I'd love to see the one-teens by Christmas...and still be there after the holidays! I've had some motivational issues the last month or so (plus being sick), so I need to get back to the gym and being more intentional about making good food choices.

I would love to lose some weight by Christmas. I have been stuck stuck stuck for most of this year right now. So... I am going to join in, but I am not going to be overly ambitious, because I am afraid I will get myself down. So dream weight by Christmas would be to lose 30 lbs. But, I will settle and be more than happy with breaking the 200 barrier! So, 195 is my goal.

Imperfection is important. If we were all perfect, then there would be no such thing as growth, and everyone would be extremely boring, which is, paradoxically, not that perfect.-- Dr. Matt

Doesn't 2 kilograms a month work out to about a pound a week? Or am I missing something?

(2kg = 4.4lbs so per month it would be about 1 lb a week as there is usually about 4 and a half weeks in a month)

I want to aim for a healthy BMI for Christmas. That's just over a 7 kg weight loss for me (0.5 kg loss per week is considered steady) 1 kg = 2.2 lbs

I have decided, while writing a blog, that I was going to challenge myself to reach my healthy BMI weight by Christmas (we are going to Las Vegas for Christmas to see the in-laws). For me this is doable. I need to lose 22 pounds to reach that point and there are 16 weeks until Christmas, at 2 pounds a week, that would theoretically be 32 pounds available to lose... Obviously, that is a pretty big goal, so just the 22 would be great! Although I won't complain if it is more. : )

I usually work better when I post these things or there is a contest, so I am inviting anyone who would like to participate in a Christmas challenge to post here. 1 to 2 pounds a week is a good goal to give yourself, don't try and give yourself a goal that you can't reach. I am going to post every Sunday with where I am at and how it's been working for me and invite you to do the same. I love using the challenges as a reminder or tool, but I, personally find that giving myself a number amount makes me move and shake a bit better. : )

Jeni~
