I want to feel as confident as I act. I don't want to worry about the kids' friends thinking I am fat. I will still be overweight for a long time, but I want and need to get out the morbidly obese section and into cuter clothes!

Success is just around the corner for the person who refuses to quit.

I would love to be able to go on a 2 or 3 mile hike in our state forest here in Wisconsin. It's so lovely in the fall! I also want to just work on becoming a health-conscious person.

My biggest change I hope to see this year is to become a person who can run. I've never been able to run. As a kid, I was always the last chubby kid to cross the finish line during the President's fitness run.

I want to be able to play volleyball with the young people at our family reunion at the end of summer.

I also want to be able to ride horses with my friend and not feel like I'm breaking the poor thing's back. It would be an added bonus, if I could actually mount the creature without the aide of a step ladder or a truck bumper.

I'm not telling any of my friends that I'm doing this. This is for me. I want to see when someone actually notices the difference.

I would like to be able to run 5k easily. I hate running really, especially outside, so I will say for now that as long as I can do it on a treadmill I think the health benefits of getting there will outweigh not doing it. I trained for 6 months a few years ago to do the 5k Race for Life, got a shock when I realised I hadn't trained on real ground, but I did it by jogging and walking. It wasn't easy. But the point is that after the 6 months of just training regulrly as best I could, I felt fitter all over. Why did I just stop - who knows!! I am 42lbs heavier this time round so I will take it slowly and even if I only achieve 3k by Dec, it will be better than the nothing I am doing now!!

My biggest challenge is putting my life back together. I am currently separated and will walk for my master's degree on 6/22. There have been other life altering events as well. By the end of 2013 I would like to see myself on track financially with a good paying career in my field.

I will have to have knee surgery in June or July. I want to fully recover and get back to normal. I want to be able to sit in any booth or chair and not worry if I am going to fit. I want to not feel ashamed of myself.

I think the biggest change I want to accomplish is to get my blood sugars under control and get off insulin. I've been taking at least 4 shots a day for so long I can't even imagine what it would be like to NOT have to take any shots.

I would like to be able to walk away from any food and no longer be a slave to sugar. I would like to be able to go to my in laws house for Christmas without feeling ashamed of how I look. I would also like to be in some program that is going to help me get a job such as x-ray tech or back to school for teaching, not quite sure yet.

By Christmas 2013 my health goals are to be at a healthy weight and BMI (I'm thinking the 130lbs range). To lower my blood pressure and not have to be on medication for it. I hope to wear clothes that are single digit sizes, or without an X in the size. I hope to be able to SMILE and WILLINGLY let my picture be taken at Christmas (hopefully I'll feel comfortable with this one sooner than that)

Other non health/weight/appearance goals are to be working in a job I enjoy (or at least don't despise haha) and to be on my way to repairing my credit (started rebuilding this month) and get out of debt.

Surgery for me too. Plus being able to buy clothes from a 'normal' size shop, cheaply, instead of outsize shops where you pay a premium. Even though they still can't make t'shirts that are long enough to cover your wobbly bits.
Also, hopefully, have a new business venture up and successfully running

I'd love to know what everyone's biggest change they hope to accomplish this year (outside of losing weight) is.

Mine is showing my kids that eating healthy, and in proper portions, can be both filling and tasty. Also that exercise is not only good for you but can also be fun.
