Thanks for the reply ladies - Don't the movers pack it all up for you? I'm just throwing like items in a box unsealed since Hubby was told they will pack it all. I'm so confused :( He also said that they will be unpacking and repacking everything in our storage unit too.

That's what I was gonna say Fighter. Skinnie, the storage totes protect from the elements and from bugs much better than boxes. I would have to say just do a room a day, or if you have time each day, do a tote/box a day and maybe 2-3 on the weekends. That way you're not overstressing and you're giving yourself plenty of time to get it done. I'll be glad to pack everything up and head out of here. I can't say Fort Riley is my favorite place to be.

Skinnie sounds like a busy few weeks but yes December does bring lots of good things for you and your family. A suggestion on the packing is getting Rubbermaid storage totes and this time of year they go for pretty cheap and stack really well and go through room by room and make sure you get the important stuff. If you forget a small item don't sweat it...at least you didn't leave it somewhere you will never be again.

I'm just trying to go with the flow for Dec. I work from home PT as a benefit administrator and we are closing out benefit open enrollments.. and then there is the next 2 weeks of submitting to carriers, etc, so it's just sooo busy between work and the kids and now it's official that the moving company will be collecting our stuff to take to my hubbys training station mid month. Which I hear isn't too bad - but I live at my inlaws right now and our stuff is intermingled with their stuff so I kinda have to "pre-pack". I only have 2 more weekends to do this! Any suggestions on how I can make this easier? I hate packing.. so overwhelming. But I am ready to move on - live with the hubby and start this army life adventure!! Yay Dec brings good things!

Congrats Mama...hope you have a great visit with your family and way to go with your husband finally getting his board. I hate the hurry up and wait game they play with these guys.

We'll kind of be having Christmas here, but only because my mom and sister are coming to visit. The last couple years due to circumstances here on post we haven't had Christmas in December, but when we went home it was like Christmas. This year my husband is *finally* getting the medboard he should have a year ago, so we'll be waiting for 1. taxes and 2. going home by March since its an accelerated MEB.
