Biking must be the way to go with dogs. When I run the dog just walks beside me. Not a workout for him but it sure is for me!

Hi everyone!
I've been gone for a bit here but back now.
Got the cows off to pasture so my big project now is the yard and garden. I have a bike too but need to get it checked out to get out on the road with it again. LMGH, that is so funny about the dog! I should see what our dog thinks of mine! I've been doing the 30 day Ab workout. Not losing a lot of weight but definitely trimming the waistline. That's good!
Not sure how the copy & paste for birthdays works....my birthday is March 4.
See you all later! 'Smee

Lmgh-- I will give that a shot!
Went to women's 4 wellness today. Got poked, injected, squeezed, and bled. It was a great day! I met a fellow sparked they, but I forgot to get her name. I hope she comes back soon. She was very nice.

I have really enjoyed the bike so far - it is like so many other things - the stationary bike at the gym doesn't do it justice, LOL. It doesn't take much of an incline to slow me down and it doesn't take long for my legs to start burning! I definitely feel like a little kid with a new toy though.
Best part about it is that the dog is so excited that I can keep up to him while he is running, haha. He is a great workout buddy :)
LEHIA13 - I put it out on facebook that I wanted one and it took maybe 2 days until I found one for really cheap, worth a shot maybe?

I bought a bicycle! A used one that this guy is supposed to fix up for me... I HOPE it turns out well, I get to go pick it up at lunch today. It has been YEARS since I rode a bike and I wasn't that coordinated at it then... should be entertaining, LOL :) I'm excited!

I've definitely got changes in my strength and endurance. Not to mention ( and I'm coming to brag here a bit) but I am actually getting a butt. Lol. I must say that with the progress my stress level at work has improved, now if only my managers would do their jobs.... that's a different story.
I too was stuck at a plateau for a while. About a month and a half... but I added some extra weight to my work outs and kept at my diet. I even tossed in. New work out so do once a week. Changing your work out will help. But you have to give it a little bit before the dang scale moves.
Just keep at it and you will come out of it. :)

I have noticed a change in my strength and endurance for jogging and my energy is also up. I'm also gaining confidence because I've been a lot more outgoing lately AND I was feeling great about it all but then I made the mistake of stepping on the scale today and I am STILL on this plateau! It has been probably 3 months stuck here at 160. Come ON!!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've ben AWOL. I agree with all of you about others observing our changes.
Have any of YOU noticed positive changes in yourself?
I was quite surprised when I saw myself in the mirror getting out of the shower. I have to admit, I don't really look at myself in the mirror. I guess all this exercise is paying off.

Nice observations about how great it is to get positive reflections from others around us. It's good to get those reminders to acknowledge our tangible accomplishments.

I believe you are right about us not realizing the changes in ourselves. I just got back from my first cruise (a quilting cruise so there was lots of sitting so I used the stairs instead of elevators) and had people say I looked like I had lost weight. I had actually gained 2 pounds but lost that rather quickly. But I started looking at myself and observing how my clothes fit. I have only lost 1 pound from when I left for my trip but I have actually had to put a belt on to keep my jeans up! I haven't worn a belt in probably 30 years! And I actually have one that fits!
I found a 30 day Ab Challenge online (maybe even on this site) and printed it out for myself. Decided to do it but adapt it by doing each day twice and turning it into a 60 day challenge. i haven't done sit-up since I was in the 9th grade. LOL!!!! couldn't do any of the 12 asked for the first day. Actually got all the way up for 2 on the 2nd day. Yesterday was day 3 and i did 4 of the required 20. Today I actually did all 20 of them. Boy did my tummy not like it and it was a struggle but I did 'em! :) Tomorrow is a rest day. Whew! I have been maintaining at 249.5 for a while now but that's okay. I am going to keep working at this and spend Mother's day going thru my clothes and seeing what fits of the smaller sizes and getting rid of the too big stuff!

I just got a huge compliment from a friend that I had't seen all winter - He said, "Wow you must be working out, have you lost weight?" I said no, I hadn't (because I'm on a never-ending plataeu...grr...) and he said, "oh well you're just toning up and gaining muscle then because you look like you are taking really good care of yourself" Awe:) Made me realize that we are so hard on ourselves and sometimes it takes somebody else to help us realize that even if the scale doesn't move or even if our clothes aren't getting looser that exercising and eatting well make us look better on the outside because we feel better on the inside! Way to go everyone for logging in and being commited to taking care of yourself!

Hi!
I just got onto the site here for the first time (even though I joined about a month and a half ago).
Exploring the site and learning what it has to offer. I am an ex-Biggest Loser hoping to find some of my buddies from there and make new ones here.
Sounds like some of you are getting into the races that come with the warmer weather. Good Luck!

Thats awesome! I was going to to the Women's run in Billings but opted for the Stanford Stampede Poker run in July. More time to get into running shape!!! I struggle with running but am determined to do the 3 mile option! I don't care how fast I finish as long as I can jog the whole thing. That's the goal.

The wind has dried out the moisture we had, so we are praying for rain again. Actually, I don't mind the rain, it is the cloudy without rain that I dislike. It is like someone setting desert in front of you that you can't have.

At our house, we keep saying, "The more snow or rain we have now, the less likely we'll have smoke in July." It helps a little. =\

Icebreaker in GF was a blast today! A PR for me! Can't wait until the results are in. My chronographer is usually a little slower than my real time (probably because I never know which strip to start it on so I start it on the first and end it on the last - 3 strips at the beginning and 3 strips at the end)

Okay, I'm back home where I consciously work out, try and watch what I eat, and don't lose. I went on vacation (to Maui!) where I ate more bacon than I've eaten in my life, did not consciously exercise and remained the same weight. What's up with that?

Well, I did an old DVD that I haven't tried since last year. Great news!! I was able to do it all and I know I am much stronger than before!! Thanks to Jillian Michaels Body Revolution which I just finished at the end of March. Going back to other DVDs for April then I will probably do Revolution again starting in May (it is 12 weeks).
Sounds like some of you guys are runners. I do a bit for extra cardio when the weather is nice, but it isn't my strong suit. Have fun racing! I am glad the weather is giving us some outdoor time (getting the bikes out of the shed soon!!).

I have an idea, on April 22 (Earth Day) let do a virtual 5K, but take a grocery sack with you and pick up trash along the way. Let's make Montana beautiful!

Well I am doing Jillian Michaels body revolution, I am on the last week! It has really made me stronger, but I didn't follow the diet plan. Probably one reason I didn't lose too much doing it, but I am a lot more fit than when I began. I also do Zumba for my cardio. What are you guys doing??

I was new here in August or September when I moved to Deer Lodge, but we had a family emergency in Nov. So I was gone for a few months, but I'm back now and getting used to Montana. Just thought I'd say Hi!

Well, it's suppose to be in the 50s here by Wednesday. Is that warm enough for you to bike Kim?

Holey smokes Deb, brrr is right--! We were positively balmy by comparison in Florence, at over 20 degrees this morning. Skiing has left my thinking and now I'm all about the bike. Hoping for a still day to get out for a ride. So far, looking good for that possibility.

Well since I have been away I gaind a few pounds but only 5 so I would say that is really good since I have been eating problably not the best and I was sick for a few weeks. But I am back on track and am feeling good. I am currently at 194 and am just restarting everything and what is so strange is that for once I have not been beating myself up over the fact that I have not been on here. I need to get back to logging everything I put into my mouth every day. The fact though that I have maintained what I did lose within 5 pounds makes me feel really good about the food choices I made while away. So with that being said I am feeling as though I am back and ready to getting ready for the summer. I have a wedding to go to next week. I will leave from work and drive 2 hours to get to it so I am just going to bring my dinner with me and eat it when I get into town I think then not have to worry about what is being served there. Not a big fan of cake so that won't be an issue either which is good. The next event I have to look forward to is in July for a convention in Chicago...So I am gearing up for summer and to drop a few sizes. Here we go....
If your tired of starting over, stop giving up!
190lbs- Manicure
180lbs- Pedicure
170lbs- One new outfit
160lbs- Not sure yet..
150lbs- Massage
140lbs- 130 lbs New clothing and a new hair cut and color!

Yes, a lot like an expanded Showdown. The fun part for my kids was the fact they could ski into Idaho and back and that there were rope tows!!!

Have been enjoying DREAM Adaptive ski days at Whitefish Mountain Resort (aka Big Mountain), and then 2013 Winter Special Olympics today! It was fun to hike up to the slolom course and watch friends's kids ski. My son is wanting to ski in it next year, so that's a great way for us to get outside and get exercise!
I'm still trying to stay active and motivated. Yes, this ho-hum weather isn't necessarily my friend. I sure wish either spring would come or it would dump! It's too cold to do anything outside and there isnt ANY snow to even go sledding!
Be blessed and am looking forward to hiking, biking, swimming, camping and what-not this summer!

I would love to be having the eastern snow right now! This on and off weather is starting to wear thing. On Saturday after our walk, my daughter and I were excited to go home and ride bikes, but it started to snow so much that we ended up taking a night walk and playing in the snow instead! Just like the weather, we can all start fresh the next day!

Well, it's been a long year and full of hard time convincing myself I'm going to be ok. I have been out of my routine for about a year. I knew I was going to drop last March when I went out of town for a weekend, but I really thought I would get right back into it when I got back. It didn't happen. So here I am, back again. 3rd times a charm? I'm still in good spirits and will still make my goal of 135!

Hey Courtney, I want NY's snow too! Although we got about 6-8 inches. They just don't appreciate it, or know what do with it, out east!

Funny. I'm at the computer on the other end of the day. I'm often at my desk by 6:30 a.m.--! Trick is to keep from staying there through the evening.
