my biggest problem is eating out of boredom late at night. I do not know how to stop.

what you might want to do is drink a lot of water and perhaps start drinking protein drinks also. I was frustrated for a long time and my weight kept on going up and up until just this week where it is beginning to go down and I hope never goes up.
slowly but surely I will get to where I am going.

I'm frustated because no matter how much time I spend at the gym my weight goes up and up. I'm trying but nothing is happening and i'm not sure why.

Thank you so very much for your candor. I share your frustration. I joined SP in April, with a goal to lose only 10 lbs. Sounds easy, right? Yet over the next 5 months, I gained 13 lbs while keeping to a strict ~1300 calorie diet daily, and being very MyPlate compliant. I followed all dietitians' suggestions AND exercised as much as my health would allow (exercise walking 8 hrs per week). Then I started losing slowly after months of stagnation--a 3 lb weight loss which became a plateau that has not changed for a number of weeks now--though I still eat ~ 1,300 calories daily and exercise as recommended. Soooo . . .I just don't get on the scales unless the pants get looser. Strangely enough, I'm feeling much better mentally. Maybe just getting to a place of acceptance because my bigger goal is to be as healthy as possible physically, nutritionally and emotionally. And letting go of weight expectations has eased the stress. Hope this somehow helps a bit. You sound like a really dedicated, loving Gram, and I have to believe good results will come your way as you continue making healthy choices for fitness and health. My frustration is no matter what I eat or how much I excercise the weight goes up or stays the same. Some lose weight working out not me I gain more.

We seem to have issues...I struggle all the time....we must pick ourself up and start...again...don't give up.....we are worth the effort....try. to stay focus..eat breakfast, drink water often......
