Hello everybody. It has been ages since I dropped off the face of Sparkpeople. I left because I just did not have the time to keep up with everything because of some very time consuming obligations that I sorta inherited. While I still have those obligations, I have also managed to gain back almost all of the weight that I had lost and, by necessity have found my way back to the group. Hopefully this will help. I probably won't be on here everyday, but my goal is to give it a try.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Everyone, I do not make resolutions I make goals. Resolutions to me is something that people do not stick up to for long. Goals on the other hand is something that a person strives to meet.

1. Of my goals this year is to get my dl back.
2. exercise on a regular basis even if that is a different kind of exercise each time
3. declutter my home to make it more liveable
4. get to know my new daughter in law (my son is getting married Jan 4, 2014)
5. learn more about my health issues and how to handle them better
6. get our online business making money and make things to put on the site more regularly
7. make healthier choices

those are my top seven goals.

The first one is getting worked on this month Monday Jan 6th I go see the doctor that took my dl for apparent no reason.

So we are already working on that.
The decluttering both dh and I are working daily on that one.

Hugs
Shirley

The sky is the limit: you can do anything you put your mind to!!!!!!!!

The turtle on my ticker is how I want to lose weight slow and steady!!!!!!!

Weight lost goal is to lose 20lbs by May 26th, 2014

My motivation has not shown it's face all month. The holidays are coming - time to find it. Maybe if I start going through closets, drawers, etc., I will find where it is hiding.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I had motivation in the morning and did get my bed changed, two laundry loads done and my floors washed yesterday. Then the motivation went downhill. I am hoping today will be better.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Two zones to work on this week: maybe I have a better chance of accomplishing SOMETHING! The end of September - it was a crazy month for me. I am hoping October will be more settled.

I spend the morning driving 1 hour 40 minutes to a 3 hour class and 1 hour 40 minutes back. Interesting class - I don't like that I travel so far for it. Now it's time to get moving and do what I haven't done all week. I haven't been a good flybaby.

I'm staying with my great-niece and great-nephew and the pets while my niece and her hubby are in Vegas. I told her that next time that he goes for business, I get to go with him.

When I mentioned a new month and a new chance to get on schedule in my last post, I guess I didn't realize how busy I would be this month. But, I won't have time to get into trouble.

My computer that I bought in February completely died the night before last. I hated that I lost a lot of pictures and documents. Now I KNOW that I will back up important things more often. My friend called the company and it will be sending out the components to completely fix it for free I'm glad that my friend knows about computers.

I admit that I got very little done yesterday as far as housework. I went to the afternoon movies with my sister and then stopped at the grocery store. So, I am hoping to be a little more productive today.

I'm getting better at taking 15 minute chunks at a time, but I feel that there is so much to declutter. How long is it going to take me to really get organized?

Monday wasn't a productive day - I was a little off all day. Yesterday was better and I got a few things done. So far this morning, I feel better than I did yesterday. I am shooting to be a little more productive today. I'm still a new "flybaby". I have to remind myself to take life in 15 minute chunks at times.

I am trying to start the week positively. Got a few things done already this morning and have set up a loose schedule. I am going to write down how long it takes me to do things to give myself a better idea. I want to schedule time accordingly.

I'm working on my own control journal. I bought a binder at a garage sale and inserts and dividers using my points from Kmart. I started printing out lists last night. I've got to start putting it together today and see what I'd still like to put in it. I'm sure it will take about a month to really finish it, but at least I started.

I'm starting to get into the swing of things. A schedule is slowly emerging thanks to Flylady. I had been trying all year to get into a schedule and kept falling by the wayside. Today is the beginning of a new month. I am looking forward to see how far I can come during the month. This month I am going to work on planning my meals better and trying new recipes. Have a great month everyone.

I am at a point in my life where I need to review what I am doing, what I want to do, and to get on a schedule. I need to go through my place and get rid of things that I've been hanging onto for far too long. I've got 5 pounds that I gained that need to come off. It's a new day dawning!

Finally chiming in again.
Life here has also been busy. One daughter is married, another graduated from graduate school with a Masters, another is traveling around the USA working as a performer, two youngest children started a half-day school in addition to homeschooling, we began building a house, my mother has come down with dementia, and depression because of it and some of us siblings have reservations about her caretaker but can't do anything about it, my husband's jobs keep changing, married daughter's dog gave birth and she is giving us one or twp of the puppies, who have mange she found out today at the vet, Traveling daughter is in town, with her kittens who are staying here while she is out of town working in the area and I am allergic to cats, as is youngest child who insists on playing with the kittens all the time, I am having foot surgery on Tuesday and will be out for quite a while.
And I keep loosing weight but it keeps finding me again!

Hello Ladies, I hope you are still around. I know I have been gone forever. But things have just been crazy. I started keeping a newborn in Sep as both of his parents are military. Put that together with taking care of my mother and handicapped sister, who both live with me left me with little time for much else.

Now the reason that I decided to take care of the baby was to make extra money for my dd's choir trip. Her choir was invited to compete in a Choral competition in April in Italy. So since we homeschool, we took a military hop over early and went to Germany, London, and Paris before we met up with the choir in Milan. Once they left, we stayed with some friends in Italy until we got a military flight back on the 19th. All total we were in Europe for 3 wonderful, adventurous weeks. We visit places my dd never remembered since we left Germany when she was just 18 mo. We visit friends and relatives in Germany. Looked up an American neighbor in Paris and stayed with our homeschooling buddies in Italy. It is a trip that neither of us will ever forget, I'm sure.

The best part is that the choir won a gold cup and placed 2nd in the overall competition. There were 20 choirs and most to them were adult choirs.

Anyway, I'm back now and I have managed to gain back all the weight I had previously lost. Life has settled down and I'm praying that I'll be able to get back on track.

So having said all that anybody up to a few challenges? Let me know...

I am with you! I've been in a rut of gaining and losing the same 5 pounds for the past three years. In my normal routine, I would gain those 5 pounds back over the holidays and lose them in January. But, this is a new day! Thank you for your encouragement! I am going to go on from here and not backtrack this time!

You are on your way to success!

I would do the same as you -- lose, and then gain, yo-yoing my way through life. Your realizations are true. It is important to always be mindful of what you eat and exercise to create a good balance in order to maintain. Good for you to realize that now.

I have maintained for a little over three years now and it does get easier, but nevertheless, after a big feast yesterday, I must be very mindful this weekend, so any temporary weight gain is only temporary!

It has been quite a while since I have even signed on here. A lot has happened in my life and the result is that I have put back on the weight that I managed to lose. I've been forced to buy new clothes because I got rid of all the old ones that i swore I'd never have to wear again. So now here I am back to the beginnng of my journey.

For me a new day is dawning. A day where I have to realized that I will never be immmune from this journey. There will never be a day when I will not have to think about making good choices. There will never be a day when I will not have to work to fit in a workout. There will never be a day where I will not have to consider if I am making healthy choices. For I have fallen too many times back in to this hole and climbing out is HARD!

So if you have come to a nes realization and had and "aha!" moment, here is a good place to vent. This is a good place reach out for hand, And a great place to give encouragement. The holidays are here and things are about to get ugly.

Personal Motto: There, but for the grace of God, goeth I.
