Here is the Doc's website. You can take the Nutrtional Typing test. IAt the end of the test you can download the 300 page ebook for free. This is the plan I started out with over a week ago. There is still grain in that diet, but not a lot. I started the No Grain diet when I saw his name on the book in the library, and recognized the "No GRain" diet he had talked about on his website. Doc Mercola is VERY trustworthy. I believe in the Doc, so I'm in this with both feet.
You are such an inspiration! Im trying hard to lose fat. I'm pretty ripped but I have some belly flab to get rid of so it's time to step it up. I'm just coming to terms that I can actually eat (I lost my weight the wrong way initially). Eating 1500 calories is blowing my mind so I'm going at it slowly. Is there a website for the plan that you are on currently?

I'm on Day 2 of Doic Mercola's No Grain diet. Today is an all time record low for low carbs. 44 grams. I don't feel hungry or light headed or anything. I also worked out for about 50 minutes today. Intervals and abs. I don't think I metabolize carbs very efficiantly. I only have to LOOK at a carb and my waist EXPLODES! Check my food tracker if you want. I eat fruit, but the first three days of the diet doesn't include fruit (I slipped and had 1/2 an apple yesterday)
I'm doing something like that but instead I do M&W high carb (I run those days and go to class so I need my carbs!) and T&TR&St are my low carb days and F&S are my moderate days. I can't do complete low carb so I eat carbs after my workout and then try to make it thru the day not eating any grains but I do eat fruit. How many grams do you intake on your low days and high days?
Yeah. Everyone is different. The first three days I was really tired and headachy. Now, though, I seem to have lots of energy. I initially lowered my cals to 1300, but I am feeling beter at 1450-1550, although my carbs are staying the same (if not even a little lower). I have also found out that my BMR is about 300 less than Spark's estimate. This could explain ONE of the reasons why my calorie deficit of 300-400 cals per dayw wasn't working. But even when I had a 1000 calorie a day deficit it wasn't working. I have lost 3 pounds this week (I had gained 3 last week cause DH was here wining and dining me. he he) So, the real test will be next week. We'll see what happens. I just finished reading Tom's other ebook, "Super Lean". There is some good info in there.
Yea, I just posted a blog with my stats for the week. I've lost about a pound and a half for the week, but for feeling so tired I am not sure I can keep up this plan. I'm going to give it another week then go back to higher carbs and maintain for a while then go back on it. I really struggle to lose weight and I'm such a slow loser....always have been. I know I know, it is better to lose weight slowly, but averaging a pound a month is a bit too slow yet a person can gain 5 pounds in a week. Annoying!
My workouts are about an hour a day as well. I took off this morning from the gym because I've been feeling so run down, but I will probably go to Zumba class this evening. I'm not expecting that to be too strenuous.
My carbs are about 105-1115. I try to get them as low as I can, but I am definitely feeling the loss. I had a high carb/high calorie day so I am hoping to have more energy today! I wonder if we will get used to it. I am fine with dealing with this craziness for a month as long as I lose some weight, then I'll follow his other calorie suggestions for maintaining that weight loss for a while. It is just after a little over a month of NO Movement on the scale, I thought I would give this a try.

I started on Sunday too. I feel a little tired. It's because your body has run out of it's favorite fuel. Carbs. It now has no choice but to burn fat. Just make sure you eat lots of protein so your body doesn't use up too much of that (muscle). Let me know how it works for you. How low are your carbs? I've gone down to 100 grams a day, which is pretty low for me since I workout everyday for at least an hour...
Has anyone tried Tom's 3 days of low carb/1 day high carb cycle? I just started it about 4 days ago and I'm noticing that I've been tired. I am not sure if that is the reason so I am definitely going to give it a good faithful valid effort for the next two weeks. I just want to know if anyone else has given it a try and if so what were your results??
