Thank you, Lynda. The one that came in on Wed. works but is far from accurate. It was pretty cheapy though. So I ordered an Omron too, which will be here tomorrow. Glad you love yours, that makes me feel better about spending the extra money. Can't wait! emoticon

I love my Omron pedometer and have found that the 'cheap' ones have disappointed me so many times, it's worthwhile to spend a couple of extra $$ to get a good one - hope your new pedometer arrives quickly and does the job well for you!

So I tried to revive the pedometer that I had to no avail. This morning I ordered one from Amazon which is supposed to be here on Wednesday (9/12). I've been walking and jogging even without the pedo, but it definitely is a motivator for me when I'm wearing it. I'll be happy to get back in the game!

I wrote a blog 7/6/11 about mine going through the wash and what I did to get it going again. I never thought I would actually succeed but I did.

You may want to get one that is inexpensive for now, but you may also want to invest a few more dollars in a better one. You can get one for a bit more and it will measure your steps more accurately and will give you other information.

The treadmill will measure distance so your mile will be roughly 2000 steps. You can count the number of steps in a block, etc. and find out how far you walk when you are out walking. It won't take care of the little steps you take when at work or around the house, but it gives you a little more boost than just doing without.

You can try taking a blow dryer to your current pedometer to see if you can get it to dry out inside. Or put it in a bag with dry rice. There are ways to get the things to dry out.

Walmart has some for $5 if you have a store near by? About 2000 steps = a mile give or take. This site had a chart www.stepup.excellusbcbs.com/healthInfo.jsp

It's def not the battery. It's just a crappy cheapo one that someone got for free and gave to me. I think it's because I sweated on it when I was on the treadmill. I'll look around for a cheap ped. on Amazon or something. It would be interesting to learn how mileage translates into steps!

You may want to check the battery...if it is low it won't work properly and could be the source of the weird stuff...

Don't you dare let a broken pedometer keep you from this team! Can you afford to go out and get a new one? Even a cheaper one is better than nothing right now. There is also a way to convert activity & mileage into steps...hopefully someone else can post how, because I've never done it!

If we lived close, I'd give you one of mine that I don't use!

So I went to put on my pedometer this morning when I got out of bed. It was reading some weird digital nonsense that certainly did not look like numbers. No matter what I did, it would not reset. I'm sad; my pedometer is broken. Not sure if I can continue in the September steps team. emoticon
