I was an Omron user before I jumped to Fitbit just over a year ago--Fitbit has been amazing for me (the web interface is really neat and seems to keep me on track).
I've had the legacy model (but I broke it), upgraded to the Ultra, and don't have plans to move to one of the later models. You only need one--believe the Zip has less functionality (like it doesn't track sleep), but it's far less spendy than an Ultra or One and smaller. I'm hearing the One is better than the Ultra in terms of water resistance (these aren't water proof, but sweat has never bothered one of mine).
Lots of folks clip to the bra, some clip to the waistband or put in a pocket, I wear mine on my underwear (less standard, but I've gotten into the habit hiding it under clothing, and I've found it's a lot less prone to falling off--for me anyhow). Because of the price, lots of folks swear by a pedometer "leash" as well.... just in case.

Oh, and in breaking news, Fitbit links to Sparkpeople now--SP food can be uploaded to FB site (FB database has always been a little weak) and FB fitness/weight can be uploaded to SP). LOVE LOVE my Fitbit; can't say enough positive things about it (including the customer service--they have replaced more than one for me at no additional cost as well).
I USE A OMRON HJ-112. I REALLY LIKE IT FOR IT TELLS ME MY STEPS CALORIES AND FAT BURNED. I ALSO HAVE A WEIGHT WATCHERS PEDOMETER AMD I LIKE IT TOO. IT TELLS ME THE STEPS AND HOW MANY ACTIVITY POINTS I EARN A DAY. I LIKE TO SEE HOW MANY STEPS I CAN GET; USELY 10,000 OR MORE.
I use a Fitbit Ultra. I really love it. I sync with my computer and can keep track of how I've done over a long period of time. The battery holds up for a long time. I'm not an athlete and am just trying to get healthy. I absolutely walk more when I wear my pedometer. There will be times when I'm getting close to a certain number and will just go out and walk so I can my pedometer reach my goal. It also seems to stay pretty sturdy.
I've edited my ticker to reflect my total weight loss.

Glad hubby bought you a new one, I always feel so lost when I forget my pedometer. I'm dreading the day when it takes its last breath! LOL I've had it over a year and a half, so I'm sure the time is coming soon.
My Omron died. 2 new batteries and still nothing. So sad. It is my all time fave. Hubby bought me a new pedometer this weekend. Not an Omron but will do til for now. I do walk so much more if I can see how far I have gone!
I had tried so many different pedometers and nothing worked/was accurate. Then a SP member from Australia told me about the Omron pedometer. I found it on the internet. It was pricey, but I really wanted an accurate pedometer, so I ordered it. It is fabulous. I've had it a long time and have only had to replace the battery a few times. I would recommend it to everyone. The one I have is the Omron Walking Style. I can just put it in my pocket, or hook it on my waistband. I usually put it in my pocket if I have one. It tracks many stats.
Recently while visiting Diabetes education at the Diabetes Center in Omaha, NE the educator told me they sold them at a much cheaper price than I paid. She also said they were coming out with a new one that promises to be fabulous.
