We have Wii and have used Fit Plus for a couple years. The thing I don't like about that is that there are breaks between activities. We bought EA Active a couple months ago and tried it out only once. Same problem--too much time between activities. And getting down on the floor after 8 knee surgeries isn't something I do easily.
We bought Walk It Out for Wii a couple weeks ago and love it. It will be a viable option for this summer when the temps are in the 100's and I might find an excuse not to exercise--no more!

I have the Wii Fit/Fit Plus and used to use it all the time to exercise. I loved how I'd be sore from "hula-hooping" or "riding the bike". I much prefer to walk outside or use my Sweatin' to the Oldies DVD's though.

I got an XBOX and Kinect, but just didn't like it. After about 1 year, I ended up selling it. There's an XBOX team on Spark, for those who might be interested in that.

Hi - I have the Wii and use it to 'play' the Wii Fit plus games plus use it for Yoga practice. I have the Just Dance on Wii along with Zumba, Yoga and Pilates workout plus the Wii Cardio dance. All of these discs get used as I like the fact I can exercise when I want in the comfort of my own gym. I also have Your Shape which gives my voice a workout as well as I normally make comments to my 'personal trainer' when she claims I'm not doing the exercise correctly ! My daughters also use the Wii and especially like the Just Dance workouts.

I have had a Wii for a couple of years. I do use the Wii for walking and Wii Fit Plus. I do think I get a better workout when I walk outside, but many days I get home too late or it is stormy. I don't like walking outside when the weather is bad.
They do offer flexibility and some other options.

I can honestly say when I play with the Wii system I LOVE my Wii fit plus and the Golds Gym Cardio Workout which is basically shape boxing workouts and exercises.
For the past 2 days I have used the XBox 360 Kinect games- Kinect Adventures, Dance Central, and Your Shape. Each of these games has you really moving and you cannot cheat the system- my son found ways to do just that on the Wii games. Not so with the Kinect. I work up a serious sweat (hair plastered with sweat) in a very short time but then I am really putting my best efforts in the game and your heart rate does go up since you have to be active during game play. Dance Central was FUN and I liked that it broke down the dance steps so I wasn't completely lost before taking on the entire dance. Using the Your Shape is like doing circuit training and I used the personal trainer mode today to really get a great workout which kept me focused, using proper form and doing my best to stay in rhythm with the trainer- not one of my strongest suits in the fly jogs but I kept at it.

I was wondering how many members out there are using a gaming system for added fun to their workouts or ways to move and be active despite stress, demanding schedules, or to beat boredom and the couch potato attitude from forming. Do you have or have you used a Wii, Playstation, or XBox for fitness? How about the DS?
I will admit in my household we actually now have all these systems. This is due to me being married to a gamer who has passed on that passion to our 11 year old son. I am not big on gaming but when we got the Wii system a few years back- that I could GET into since I was moving. I tend to like to be busy and when I am sitting its usually to read a book and exercise my mind.
Recently we just added the XBox 360 system with the Kinect feature to our house as a Christmas gift from my parents. Let me just say- setting the system up last night was a workout all in itself due to the room I decided we had the most room to move in. I finally got to work off my holiday stress last night with my son and again today. Just doing the Kinect Adventures game has me sweating and laughing for at least an hour with a raised heart rate. Plus it was amazing seeing my son doing boxing and really trying to throw punch combinations with the Sports game where as in the Wii system he found a way to cheat the system so I don't feel he gets the same interaction.
What do you use and do you have multiple systems too? Which games to do like to do best?
