I think it is great to be getting older - there are fewer in the age brackets the older you get so I look forward to it in the idea that while I may never have the legs of a Kenyan - eventually I will move up in the standings just be sheer titration =)

Hillary, don't let age be a deterent! Toy are only a few years older than ,e, and one of my heroes is 91 and runs....yes, RUNS 5K's. He is the only one in his age group! Seriously, I did a 5K on Thanksgiving, and it was just great dto get out and burn some calories before the feast, even in the sleet! I now get up early every holiday and do a virtual 5K.......or more. Guess I will be out walking on Sunday before I start wine-ing!

Thank you Beth ... I went and explored the page and saw that most people were a bit younger than me and got all self -conscious !! .... Do they have a Wooden Spoon prize do you know ? Seriously though on this side of the world we have a 5K Walk for Life which I had thought of entering but don't think it is until the New Year ...so guess that precludes me ?

Thanks for the info it might be just what I need to re-motivate myself and get back into a training program. I got the news from my doctor that me jogging or running is out for my future or I will create more internal damage to my right knee soft tissue. I did get the green light to do races as a walker though. Maybe I can figure out how to increase my speed walking and do interval that way instead of with jog/run intervals.
