First of all, thank each and every one of you for your prayers and support. We could not have made it without them!
Laura was in surgery for 9 and 1/2 hours and is in recovery now. She is in stable condition with a breathing tube and her vitals look "pretty good". The cancer was everywhere, but her doctor feels that he removed approximately 98% of it. The 2%, with this type of cancer, is still a big concern, but God can handle lots more that 2%!! Her lower colon was removed and she has a colostomy, and her bladder also had tumors that he removed, but he couldn't get a seal on it so she will have two drainage tubes there.
She will be in ICU for a while, and we are so happy and blessed that she made it through a long and dangerous operation. It's still a touch and go situation until she is fully awake, but as I've said before, she is one strong woman. In fact, the doctor told my son that "she is one tough cookie."
I can never express how much I appreciate all the prayers, the support, and the encouragement you've given us through this. If I could reach through this portal and hug each one of you, I would. I thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. No matter what is in the future for Laura and Wallace, I will never forget my wonderful teams of compassionate "buddies". May God bless each one of you beyond measure.
Please continue to pray for her recovery and her healing, and for my son and granddaughter. They are in a fog and still fear the future.
Again, thank you so much. God Bless!!
