I lost the 8 lbs. I gained on my trip last weekend plus another 3 lbs. this morning. Obviously the 8 lbs. was pure water weight because it went on so fast and came off so fast. I lost 5 lbs. of it by Wednesday morning, another 3 lbs. Thursday morning, then I lost another 3 lbs. this morning. I think my body is rewarding me for getting right back on track when I got back. I couldn't have hoped for better results.

Thank you BEACHBELLE. I get what you mean about not moving the ticker. I am dreading Thursday through Monday because I will be flying and out of town. I HATE being out of routine because it is almost always DISASTROUS. Good luck with keeping the pounds off while having your guests over. Have fun!

Good for you! I think I'm down a couple pounds, but I have guests this week and lots of eating out going on, so I'm not moving my ticker yet!

I think you are right and that I was holding a lot of water weight. I have been a stand-still since losing that last 3 pounds but that's alright since I lost so much in such a short period of time. I have been working on eating small meals all day. I exercise for at least an hour six days a week.
How has everybody else been doing?

You are probably being much more active, and you could be holding a lot of water weight, so 3# is good. If you watch "THE BIGGEST LOSER" they eat small meals all day and still lose LOTS of fat each week. Get moving!

Lanne, I live in Spanish Cove in Lillian, which is a "planned community" I guess. We have a large community pool (with a view of Perdido Bay - really nice!), and they do the water aerobics classes for the people who live here.
At this moment, I am waiting on going to the pool because there's a small thunderstorm about to hit Lillian!

I lost another three pounds today which kinda sorta freaks me out because I am all of a sudden losing weight really fast the past few days and I know that's not recommended because it's supposedly hurts your metabolism or something. As far as I can tell I'm not doing anything drastic. I would have been satisfied with staying at 256 for a few days but I guess that's not what my body had in mind. I know I should be happy about the big drop but I think I am more concerned or even maybe stressed about it. Yet I do not plan on doing anything to sabotage my weight loss either.

Today's water aerobics was better - they use water weights on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it's a good workout for the arms! I have a borrowed set now (made from PVC pipe and "noodles") but I need to get my own.

I went to the water aerobics class at the pool today. It was okay, but it's designed for "seniors" so it wasn't very strenuous. Still, it's better that laying around the house! I stayed to get some sun and swam a little. Maybe I will work on my endurance and swim a bit more each day. I like it better than other exercise.

I've lost another 3.5 pounds since Friday 6/6/08. Only thing I really did differently was closely monitor my sodium intake. Seems to have made a big difference. Now the struggle is continuing to stay within the recommended range for sodium. It's much more difficult than I would have thought.

Every cardio machine has its own tv with cable. And they have a cardio cinema where there are a bunch of cardio machines in a room with a big movie screen. They play a lot of new releases and change the movie every day. There are plenty of cardio machines. Even when it's super busy, I can still get on a machine.

I have lost 15 pounds since I started at the gym, with strength training, on 4/29/08. I got measured on 5/9/08 and then today. I lost half an inch off my hips, 1.5 inches off my torso, half an inch off my upper arms, 1.75 inches off my bust, and 2.5 inches off my shoulders. Very slow process that requires a whole lot of patience. I am doing as Carol recommends, tracking my food and exercise every day.

I've officially hit 40 pounds lost. You can do it too...track your food every day. One of the reasons it works is because it forces you to eat things that are easy to track. I don't eat perfectly, but I stay (most days) where I should be in terms of calories. Let's support each other and do this!

I've lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks of being on spark faithfully. The down side is 6 of it was weight I had gained since November, so the 2 was off my original starting weight. To everyone else, your success is truly an inspiration!!
