We finally started this group...anyone interested in joining us, let me know.
We start at Jefferson Park on Summit...meet in front of Suite # 12 at 4:45 PM. We walk/run on Summit to the swimming pool and back...equivalent to a 5K.
All levels are welcome. We plan to go Monday unless we get rained out.

Dakota...Kelly has had a busy week. We are being audited by Medicaid this week and she will be out of town next week for work.
I would vote for waiting for cooler weather, but you and Kelly are welcome to go for it when she gets back to this thread.

yes, i know where you'r talking about. but i gotta warn you, i'm not very fast, probably an 11/min mile, especially in that heat at that time, so i don't know if i could keep up with someone training for a marathon!

Wow Kelly...I work with you and had no idea you had such goals! I haven't ran much outside since it has gotten so hot, but I will do it with you on the days that I can. I used to run/walk from our office in Jefferson Park up Summit to 12th after work most every day. That's a little more than a 5K. Sometimes I would go the other direction on Spanish Trail.
You should ask Janice G. about her Saturday morning runing group. They train for longer runs.
Dakota...do you know where I am talking about? There is a sidewalk on both Summit and Spanish Trail...good place for running. Could you meet us at Jefferson Park? Maybe we could do different routes. I love to run downtown (well...run/walk actually). I used to do McGuire's every Tuesday, but I would get there early to get ahead of the crowd (and to get it overwith! LOL!). What days, Kelly?

I've been bit by the running bug again. It's always my *fall back* exercise because it's easy to do it and get it done for the day. I also still want to complete a 1/2 marathon and a full marathon. Wondering if any Panhandle Sparkers would be interested in running one or two times a week at 5 pm-ish in the Cordova Mall area?
