Have you thought of joining weight watchers? Some times just seeing other people and hearing about their struggles can help. It can also help you make friends that can physically help you and encourage you with meeting your goals. Sometimes it's hard to really connect to people that you only know through social media.

Read three books that you can get at the library:

Gary Taubes' "WHY WE GET FAT AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT" He shows how Insulin is spiked by the sugars/starches we eat and that pumps out GHERLIN, the hunger hormone from the stomach to make us crave more ......right...sugar/starches. He found Dr. Atkins knew what he was talking about.

Judith Beck PHD, "The BECK DIET SOLUTION" which is how to THINK like a THIN person.

Roger Gould, M.D. "SHRINK YOURSELF" on how to deal with stress, which he says is why we regain weight and 95% of people REGAIN.

measure and KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING YOU EAT. i was amazed when i started doing that how much you don't keep track of. few M&Ms here, a bite of something there etc. it really kept me on track. i imagined that i had a "calorie bank". i could spend the calories for each day on what i wanted, but if i used up 200 on candy instead of something nutritious, hate it for me, and learn from it. might not work for everyone, but it made a huge difference for me. if you can walk for 15 minutes every other day, go for it. if you only walk for 5 minutes, go for it. the important thing is you are moving towards better health, one step at a time. good luck!

Cathy

I would start by going back to the basics. Drink your water, and measure out your portions. I have bought several sets of measuring cups to make sure I have enough to measure out my portions. I tend to over estimate by eyeballing.

Also just start by walking even if it's only for 5 minutes at a time. You could do that 3 times a day and work your way to longer and farther.

Remember each day is a new start!

I'm not quite sure where to start (again) or where to go but I need help. I need suggestions of what to do and how to get it going. For a long while I tried and made no progress, it was a weak rather non-committed try, I suppose. Now I'm 50 lbs (or so) heavier and it's not getting better. I'm getting so I can't move well and it's only worse. I just am not sure what to do except stop right now, start one minute at a time and see what I can figure out. I'm lost.
