DALLAS_ANNE posted this on my Sparkpage this morning. Just wanted to share. I certainly will tell my friends and family about it!
Sine you asked about my event - the organization that I run is called Hand Me Down Moms, and basically what we do is hold events or "swaps" where people bring all of the things that their family no longer needs, whether it's your old fat pants (which will hopefully be mine at the next swap!), dishes or furniture you don't need, kids clothes, toys, shoes...basically ANYTHING you don't want that is in useable condition - and trade it out for things that you CAN use. It's not item for item or anything, it's really easy and really simple. In fact, we would prefer that for every one thing you bring you take at least five, lol. It's really successful and we are having another one this Friday and Saturday at Pace Immanuel Baptist Church, so you are welcome to come! Tell your friends/kids/grandkids/cousins/neices/neph
ews/etc. There is always TONS of stuff! I personally haven't bought my kids ANYTHING aside from birthday presents since we started this organization, and I can't tell you how nice that is on the wallet, especially when you have a you baby, because they grow so fast that the clothes that they grow out of sometimes never get worn!
