I am so enjoying this cooler weather. I am doing a bit of fall cleaning right now. Getting rid of some clutter before the holidays are here.

Another reason for losing weight is that I fell in the garage on Saturday. I landed on my left knee and thankfully it's just bruised. I had a hard time getting myself up. At least my hubby was there. I need to increase weight work outs which would have helped.

Anyone else going to the Elberta Sausage Festival? Hubby and I are planning on going early this Saturday. My twice a year treat. German sausage with homemade sauerkraut. YUMMY!

I hope everyone will have a wonderful day!

So sorry Cyndi about your fur-baby. I know how hard it is to do that. At least you didn't give in to eating to make you feel better. You will meet again some day. emoticon

Mostly I've just been maintaining. This horrid heat and humidity really gets me down. Plus with the storms coming and going my back and joints really, really ache. So looking forward to cooler weather.

Hello everyone! Hope you are in the right mindset for healthy eating this week.
I had to put one do my dogs down yesterday so it is a very sad time for me. I was hurting so bad yesterday that I wanted to eat my way to feeling better. I realized that it would not help so I was good and had a big salad for dinner. Eating poorly would not have brought him back.
I have to stay strong!

Yes...homemade is better. Eating out really sabotages all my efforts. I've gotten very picky about eating out. It has to be something I REALLY want and worth the consequences!

Thank goodness we aren't getting a hurricane though it might have cooled it off a bit.

I wish there were better restaurants here in the west side of Pensacola near Mobile Hwy and Saufley Field rd. There have been some that opened up and they started out pretty good. But then the food and service went down hill and of course the restaurants closed. I hate going too far and do not like a lot of traffic. Oh well homemade is better but it's nice to get out and have someone else cook and clean.

Oh, I hate cold weather so much, that I am loving this time of year in Pensacola. I don't run the A/c as I don't want to have the heat be worse when I'm outside. I have fans in the house.

I see we have a new name for the team. Threw me a bit but I think it fits better with our members being here on the Gulf Coast.

I am so looking forward to the cooler weather if it ever gets here. The heat and humidity sucks. I don't feel like doing much at all.

So does anyone have any tips to get through this and do something productive?

We had a nice weekend. We did go to the fireworks. The crowd wasn't too bad and the weather was nice...not too humid.

I'm getting back in the swing of my workouts...feeling motivated again.

It's Monday again. LOL Our dryer knob broke this weekend and I'm having someone come out and fix it. $44 to do so. We tried finding a knob and no one sells one for dryers, but we found some for stoves and they were too big. Oh well. Still cheaper than replacing the dryer.

We stayed home for the 4th since it's just too chaotic out there driving. The people who live around us kept shooting off different fireworks which I hate since some of them land in our yard and the field next door. It's pretty dry out there and I'm always worried about a fire occurring. But we made it through.

I hope everyone is having a nice day.

Woke up to loud thunder claps. At least it waited until just before the alarm went off. LOL

I've been trying to buy my produce at my Flora Bama fruit stand that's on Mobile Hwy. I am trying to keep it local, and hte people there are really nice. Plus the produce is really fresh and they have the best tomatoes. Where does everyone get their produce from?

Off to do some chores

Today, I wonder if it will ever stop raining/storming in Florida! UUgghh! I did not feel great today, and had very low energy. However, I got up and did some exercise anyway!

Every little bit is progress!

Cyndi-Sorry to hear about your neck, and hip. I also have a lot of neck and back issues-nothing diagnosed. (B/c I don't go to doctor unless I think I'm dying!). I don't have any advice, but I hope you get some relief. emoticon

Cyndi, So sorry about what you've been going through. I hope you get good news with the MRI. I also have Bursitis in my hips and can now tell when a storm is coming. My doctor said that using a pool for exercise is a good idea too.

My daughter gave me and my hubby a couple of box turtles for my birthday and his father's day presents. They were just hatched so a very tiny, but so cute. She also save the last couple of eggs from my favorite hen, Red, who passed on and they hatched out. Hopefully I'll get one hen out of the two. LOL

Just been doing some gardening, and getting rid of some clutter. Not much new really.

I hope everyone will have a nice day.

How was everyone's weekend? I am so frustrated. I have had neck issues for over 7 years. The pain gets worse at times but then is hardly there at times. Lately it has gotten really bad. I get tingling down my arm into my fingers. Also wake up with a headache most mornings and there is pain in my chest. I even went to the ER several times thinking I was having a heart attack. Certain sports bras make it feel worse because of where the strap lays on my shoulder.
I have stopped my running everyday like I use to. Now I have only been getting out once or twice a week and doing a run/walk.
They told me a few years ago I had some slight change in a few of the disc in my neck. I went for a CT scan last week and the neurologist said that it had gotten worse. I have been diagnosed with Cervical Degenerative Disc Disease. I will be having a MRI so he can compare the two and then we will discuss surgery.
I have done the medication, physical therapy, heat, and TENS unit which all help for a while.
Has anyone had surgery for this? I am open for other options but feel that this May be what I have to do.
OK...and then there is the bursitis in my hip. LOL! I have been medicating myself for that also just so I can get out and run.
We are seriously thinking of putting in a pool so I can swim and do water aerobics. I have read that thus would be good for both of my health issues.

We'll...that is it for me. How about all of you? What is going on in your lives?

I know I have been posting lately. I will try and do better.

We came through that storm okay. When I came down here I had a Realtor who worked for me, and told her I wanted to be in a flood free zone. Thank goodness I had her. We are in a good spot.

Carol, my colonoscopy is next month. I am on a 3 year cycle since I had to have part of my colon removed. I know how much fun it ain't but it's so important.

Cyndi, so sorry about gaining some weight back but glad you came through the storm okay.

I do need to get a better control on my eating and doing more exercise which is hard since it's so hot and humid out. I need to unblock my treadmill.

I hope everyone is doing well today.

It has been a while since I have been on here. I was ashamed because I have gained weight. Well, I updated my tracker. (Ouch)
I have started tracking my food and exercise. I have got to get this weight off. It may not be the cause of some health issues but it sure does not help.
I am going to a family reunion next month and I do not want my family to see me.
Time to get serious!!!

Hello everyone. I had my routine colonoscopy this morning...2nd one for me. That 5 years just flew by. I'm home recovering and all is well.

I started 30 days of serious food tracking the first of June. It works.

We came through the rains just fine. I made sure when I bought our home that we would not be any where near a flood zone, and it's paid off.

I've been trying to get outside more and get some sunshine. This weekend hubby and I spent most of our time outdoors.

I tried growing tomatoes in pots though not hanging ones. As long as the Flora Bama has good tomatoes I'll just get them there. I'll concentrate on garlic, onions, peppers, and asparagus. LOL

Got some plants repotted, and hubby fixed the privacy fence gate. I hate this time of year because of the mosquitoes. Since I'm diabetic I am a target. I bought some organic bug repellant and it seems to work. Uses oils from herbs instead of chemicals.

The heat and humidity was in force this weekend, and it looks like we are getting some thunder storms tonight. I hope everyone will be safe.

I grow tomatoes in hanging baskets. There are fewer bugs and so far its kept the raccoons out of them. I started pruning the azaleas this weekend.

Enjoying the weather these past couple of days. My daughter-in-law will be over and we'll work out in the yard. I have some plants I want to plant and a couple of other things.

I think I am over the sugar cravings. I cooked steak, baked potato and had sliced fresh tomatoes that I had bought at the Flora Bama stand near me. I don't seem to be able to grow tomatoes for some reason. At least at the Flora Bama I can get tomatoes that are local and taste like tomatoes. Going to start eating more salads and vegetables.

I hope everyone is doing well.

The scale was not happy with my Easter choices. I did not do very well with feeding the chunky monkey. But enjoying a nice meal with the family is priceless. Back on track now and ready to press through to my next planned cheat day...my birthday at the end of May.

Survived another Easter. LOL I have got to not have candy in the house as I will eat it all. I have been having sugar cravings too, and that's not something I do crave. Usually it's meat believe it or not. Must be spring fever.

I'm not doing very good with the workouts. I thought I would get up early every day and get on my treadmill...not happening. I coulda made a class tonight. I just didn't plan very well. But I'm sticking with my food plan...even when the clutter or noise starts to get to me. It's just for a short time, and then I won't see them very much. I'm glad to have them and happy we have enough room for all of us.

You and my friend NVDONNA have mentioned the sugar thing lately. She is not eating anything with sugar in it. I eat dark chocolate every day...just 2 pieces. I look forward to it and it is enough to curb that craving. I guess for some people a little just makes the craving worse.

We have the daughter and granddaughter living with us so I know that is is sometimes a challenge getting in time for a workout.
I got in a walk on Monday. Nothing yesterday and nothing today. I am battling a head cold. Ugh! Feels like my head is going to explode and that I swallowed an egg.
I have not been making the best food choices either. I have been craving sweets so much lately. All I want is sugar.
I really need an intervention. Here it is getting bathing suit season and I would not be caught on the beach without my cover up.
No word on the job I interviewed for. I hate this waiting game. I really want this position so I can get back to working normal daytime hours.

Well,,,I hope you all are having a great week.

Hit body sculpt today and the toes survived. They were pretty bad over the weekend, but I think it's going to be ok.

My daughter, sil and grands have moved in with us for a month. This is going to make getting to my evening workouts a challenge. I'm going to stick with the food tracking and get the workouts when I can. I've hit a plateau. But I know if I hang tough, it will pass.

Ugh! Sorry to hear about Miles getting sick. I hate to see sick kids. They are so helpless.
Sore hope your toes are better.
I kind of went off line over the weekend and are slow about getting back on track.

Working out on Wednesday made my toes so much worse. I was in a lot of pain last night. Advil helped, plus my grandson was here and he got so sick in the night, throwing up. He's just 2 and that had never happened to him. He was so frightened...and wanted his mommy. E-E (that's what he calls me) had to be mommy and grandmommy too. That'll take your mind off your own stuff.

Toes are better today (so is grandson)...I may lose a nail before this is over. I will ne to do workouts that don't require shoes. I plan to just work on lifting weights until I can wear my workout shoes again.

Still, I will stick to detailed food tracking...work out or not. I know that it works.

I know what you mean about sore toes. I have one toenail that is half way falling off. It has been giving me trouble for over a year. Even with buying new shoes, it is always the one that causes me pain. Guess that is just something I have to put up with.
Not much exercise for me today either. I did walk around the mall for an hour and a half but that was casual with some shopping mixed in. LOL!

Trouble sleeping last night from the sore toes...hair apt today, so no workout. I'm going to have to give the toes a rest.

Yes...looks like rain is coming. Maybe it won't hang around long.

I've been popping in and out today. Enjoying the nice day before we get the rain that's predicted. While we need the rain can't it rain during a couple of days during the week? LOL

Had my yearly eye exam yesterday, and while my prescription changed my eyes are healthy

Cyndi, better to have one Mt. Dew and get rid of your headache. You are getting there on figuring out what to eat at work. Where do you work?

Carol, hope your toes feel better and good for you for exercising anyway.

I hope everyone will have a nice day..

Beautiful day! I hope you enjoyed your walk. Both my big toes are sore from the half, but I went to body sculpt tonight. Time to get over it and stop being lazy.

Looks like a nice day outside. I have been doing some cleaning this morning and preparing some healthy foods for dinner to take to work. I think I will go out for a walk.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.

You are figuring it out Cyndi! If your hadn't tracked, you wouldn't have been able to figure out what to do next. I left you some feedback on your page.

I did great yesterday and got in some exercise and tracked all of my food but ran into a problem. I work the 3:30-midnight shift. I took food with me to eat but realized after logging my dinner that I had only gotten around 1020 calories. There is no where to get healthy food after hours. This is going to take some pre-planning on my part. I will have to figure out in advance the foods I will eat for the day and the calories.
Also...I had a terrible throbbing headache and gave in to a Mt. Dew. I told myself that I still had calories on my log and it would help get rid of my headache.
I am not going to give up; I just need to be strong and carry on!

I agree that food tracking on the weekends is the hardest. It sure makes a difference on the scale for me when I do it. I am back to my lowest weight after sticking with it over the last 12 weeks. I took a break over the weekend. Now I'm ready for another round!

I actually do use the food tracker for breakfast and lunch during the week since I am diabetic and it helps me with the starchy carbs. Weekends when hubby is home is hard. Schedule gets messed up. Working on that one.

I think one of the hardest for me is exercise and eating non-starchy vegetables. I try and limit one starch on my plate and have a salad and another vegetable like green beans or broccoli. I found some easy on my body exercises here and just need to do them.

So today I will make a new start!

Good for you, Cyndi. You will see results. You've got to stick with it for a good period of time. Decide how many days you can go until you get a cheat day break, then stick with it. Take your cheat day, then get right back on it. I tried to go the whole 12 weeks of the healthywage challenge with no break. I had 2 slip ups where I just ate too much. That tells me that I need a break about every 6 weeks. I will probably take a monthly break this round.

I've had a cheat weekend...feeling a bit miserable right now. I will be back on track tomorrow. We'll do it together!

I also recommend the plan challenge. It's posted on one of my blogs. And make sure you measure so you can track those non-scale victories.

So proud of you completing the 1/2 Marathon. emoticon

I agree with you about logging. I am starting tomorrow morning. I had to change my weight tracker today and it hurts but I had to be honest. The last time I changed it was in December and I was 12 pounds lighter. Yikes! Well, I am ashamed but ready to do something about it.
I went grocery shopping and got some healthy items. I will drink lots of water and exercise even if it is just a 30-60 minute walk everyday.
I did it before so I know I can so it again.

Get serious on the food tracker ladies. That is where the success lies. Get those carbs under control.

My half marathon is done. I can check that monster off my list. Glad it is over as well as the training. Going to post a blog with pics.

Cyndi, I too need to get accountable on getting healthly and losing weight. So let's do this! Now that the weather is getting nice before it turns hot and humid getting outside and doing some walks or working in the garden sounds good.

I need to do better. I am getting my blood sugar under better control but I could do a lot better. My doctor would like me to be at 279 by my next appointment on June 3. It's not that much and I can do it. I just have to do.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine today.

Girl...look at Tasa...she is proof that consistency works. Her workouts are only the walks we get in during the day at work. She is tracking her food like a nun and it is paying off on the scale.

WooHoo! I am really going to try to check in daily. I meet the support and accountability. This group as well as Sparkpeople mean a lot to me.

I got in a good run this morning. I am on track with lots of water and I have logged my foods.
This is going to be a good week!

Thanks. Did a practice half marathon yesterday. Took me almost 3 hours. The training sure is a huge time commitment!
