I started SP at the same weight as you 214# and I'm 181# now, so I know where you are and I can say FANTASTIC to you, because I still have too much belly fat to RUN at all. You did GREAT. And like Oprah says about being in a race "you are going against YOURSELF not anyone else." So, your 38 minutes is wonderful. Next time it will be 37 minutes, I'm sure.

Well, I did not run the entire race but I made it to the finish line. It was hotter than it usually is when I do my running/walking. I am proud of myself for the fact that I participated. I was all by myself. I was not going to let the fact that my husband and son are out of town stop me. They would have blown past me anyway. My time was 38:13. That is not a great time but as least I did it! I have not ran a race in years and my times then were around 29 minutes. I am exhausted but I look forward to the next 5K.
