I have actually lost weight on a weekend??? And I have eaten out for 2 meals, plus I had sugary sweets at the lingerie shower Friday night. Huh???

I'm ressurecting this thread yet again...I reread most of it...weekends are so hard. I like to go and have fun on the weekend, but it seems to always involve food in one way or another.

I am managing to log my weekend food recently instead of just ignoring it. It is much easier to just look the other way and pretend it didn't happen.

I do the same thing on weekends--let loose a little or maybe a lot. It is so much easier to be disciplined during the week. Carol, It looks like your ticker is down from the last time I looked. I know that you are doing great and the scale has a mind of its own. I check my weight most days--I don't like surprises. Sometimes it makes no sense--up 2# one day, down the next. I do know what you mean...hubbys can be a bad influence when it comes to food. It took me a long time to realize that I just can't eat like he does. AND, I may be trying to eat healthier, but it doesn't mean he's gonna do it. If he brings buffalo wings or Chinese food home...I just have to deal with it.

Carol - No way you gained "real" weight ... keep on doing what you're doing cuz it's working!!

As for me ... hunting season opens Wednesday which means I'll be flying solo most weekends for a few months. Will certainly free me up to walk when I want, eat low calorie meals, etc. I'll miss him; however, it's easier to stick with the plan when he's gone if you know what I mean!

Resurrecting an old subject here. I challenged myself to lose weight this weekend instead of gain. I hate it when I lose during the week...then undo all that hard work on the weekend. I stayed within my calories Fri and Sat. Dropped a little yesterday morning, but gained this morning. I didn't work out yesterday cuz of my spa appointment and so many other things to get done before we go on vacation. I've already worked out this morning. Imma try to keep those calories down today. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Food at work is a horrible temptation for me, too. Someone brought in a huge cake today - a half sheet from a bakery! Yes, I had a piece. Then I ate out at a Mexican restaurant tonight, but managed to eat light - mainly because the meal was smaller than I expected!

We had an office party at work today...lots and lots of food. The boss smoked ribs outside. Yes, I ate things not on my plan and I know I went over my calories. Then, I was too lazy to go to the gym or work out at home. The good news is I had a really good weigh-in this morning. I'm certainly not hungry now. I think I will be able to get through the rest of the day without eating more. I will work out in the morning and get back on the plan tomorrow.

My daughter lives in Chicago, and I have only seen her about every 8 months since she moved there. We have always been close, so it's hard.

I managed to get through Spring Break without gaining, but I didn't lose anything either! Back to school tomorrow...

I'm glad you had a good visit with your daughter BB. Where does she live? It's OK that you gained a little. After spring break, just get back to it. I'm doing ok this weekend. I've been using those Wish-Bone salad spritzers and I was hoping one day there would be a Ranch flavor. Well now there is! I found it at Wal-mart last night. Only 15 calories per serving and it really tastes good. Maybe this will help me to chose salad more often.

I think I will be lazy and lonely this weekend! My daughter was just here from Chicago, but they had to leave early this morning. Now I am feeling the loneliness that comes after a visit like that, and I don't feel like doing anything! I gained a bit during their visit, so I need to get back to my diet and tracking my food.

Spring Break for me this week, so I have more than just the weekend to be careful!

So the long weekend didn't do me in. I relaxed my diet a little and worked out an hour Fri, Sat, and Sun. I gained about a pound, but that will be gone tomorrow. Next weekend should be uneventful!

I'm afraid I don't try real hard to be good when it's a special occasion. I have a pretty quiet life, so if I get a chance to go out and have fun, I plan to enjoy myself!

Weekends in general are not worse for me, though, because I tend toward stress eating at home on school evenings. On weekends I stay busy with yard sales and some home projects I've been working on.

So this weekend is my niece's wedding in Perry, FL, about 4 hours from P'cola. Another weekend of tempting food. And since we'll be traveling, it will be harder to find time to exercise. Plus, my mother loves to feed me...it's what she does best. This is going to be a tough one.

I kept my promise to myself to work out Sat and Sunday, but I did take a break from the the calorie restriction. We ended up spending the night in Orange Beach Saturday night and partipating in parrothead fun until the wee hours of the morning. After a hardy breakfast of my favorite comfort foods, I'm back on the Spark journey. I haven't weighed to see how much damage was done. I'll probably wait a couple of days to do that!

I made it through this weekend without blowing all my progress. This coming weekend will be harder since I'll be hanging out with my parrothead buddies. That always spells trouble! I will work out Fri, Sat, and Sun for an hour. I will use caution when it comes to eating and take nutritious snacks with me for the day.

My weekend plan is to not gain any weight. I don't have any special activities planned (that involve eating out) so I should be OK. I will work out for an hour on Sat and Sun. I will drink my 12 cups of water. I will stick to my calorie plan.

I need more accountability on weekends to stay on track. It helps if I record my plan for getting through the weekend, then evaluate how I did after the weekend. I thought it might help you guys, too. I didn't work out on Friday, then ate about 500 calories too much (eating out with friends) so Sat. morning I had gained a half pound. I worked out Sat and Sun and did OK with calories. I hope that half pound will be gone in the morning.
