Believe it or not, I first started noticing my weight gain right around the time I had to start putting my Senior Art Show together last year. I had to get everything together in less than a month and I would be graduating only a week after I got the art show finished. I started stressing out like crazy. The day of the art show I tried on the dress I had planned on wearing and realized a few bulges in the tummy and it was tight around the arms. It's been a year now since I graduated and about 2 weeks ago, I weighed myself for the first time. Needless to say, I was surprised to learn that I had gained over 60 pounds since last May...very depressing. But then I found SparkPeople not too long after weighing myself, and with some advice from tons of people up here, I'm on my way back to a healthier life. I've lost 14 pounds in about a week and a half. Hoping to continue the success.

Good luck, Kennesis!! I'm at a plateau, too. I'm only a couple pounds less than I was in January, but at least I'm not gaining any. Last year I gained back almost 25 pounds of the 40 I'd lost the year before. I wanted to lose those 25 pounds again, but 15 is probably more of a realistic goal in time for Halloween now.

For what it is worth, I have noticed that I can gain and lose as much as 7 or 8 pounds (according to my scale) just from morning to night time. I have even noticed that when I work out I can drop a couple pounds in an hour. Probably water. The place where I started really noticing some weight loss was when I started going to a new belt loop hole. I think Winston had it right, thanks for the quote. I also have hit this spot where I am not losing as much as I was before even though I have been working out harder. I am just excited that I can workout harder. I haven't felt this good for quite a few years now.
The 3 extra pounds? I guess they were a fluke 'cause they're gone. But now the scale won't move an inch. I guess I'm at a plateau which completely sucks. But I tried the incline treadmill today which is very different than my regular cardio and I'm hoping it will kick start my summer of major weight loss. My goal by Sept./Oct. is 180/175 which I think is very reasonable. Wish me luck!!! I must say it's been very hard not giving in completely and pigging out. I just have to remember that success means never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give up. That's a quote from W. Churchill I think.

What happened with those three extra pounds, Kennesis, were they just a fluke? I'm debating on whether to weigh in tomorrow or not ... I'm afraid I may have gained since last Tuesday. I've had a cold and haven't been able to exercise at all. Le sigh.
You guys are amazing! Thanks for your stories. And wow, the talent out there is so inspiring. I need all the help I can get today as I stepped on the scale this morning I had 3 extra pounds - since the morning before!!! How is that even possible. I didn't pig out or anything. And to the gym I go!
