Vinegar to clean the toilets. Vinegar to mop the floors, and I also just re-used the 409 bottle by filling it with vinegar. I also just filled the jet-Dry receptacle in the dishwasher with vinegar and that seems to be working fine.
The thing that has NOT worked for me is home-made dishwasher soap. I can't find one that is both cheaper and as effective than commercial products -and is still green.
There are some really great ideas here: http://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/ cleaning/all-natural-cleaning-solution s-00000000011547/index.html. It'll tell you how to use lemons, essential oils, etc. The Care2 website also has a great blog on how to put together your own non-toxic cleaning kit: http://www.care2.com/greenliving/make-your -own-non-toxic-cleaning-kit.html#.

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

I am attempting to make my own laundry soap. I am mixing 2 parts hard soap (Felsnaptha, ivory, etc), 1 part borax (not Boraxo), and 1 part Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (not baking soda). Grate the soap. Add the other ingredients and blend in a food processor, or blender. I have heard where some have added Oxy clean powder to it too. It only takes a coouple of tablespoons. I also use vinegar to rinse (1/2 cup). Just pour it into the dispenser, or Downey ball, or directly into the rinse cycle. There is no heavy vinegar scent and the clothes come out fresher and cleaner smelling.
