I am grateful for the ease of access to a recycling drop off center in my small town, as well as for those in the surrounding areas.

Personally, or day to day, I'm grateful for curbside recycling, since I walked mine a half mile at my last apartment.
Thinking larger, I'm grateful that battery technology (for cars and RE systems) is working toward smaller and less expensive.

Wake up every day knowing you make the decision to begin your journey anew.

This choice in this moment defines now.

What is your now?

I'm thankful that more is being done, albeit still not enough in my estimation, to restore the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

I'm thankful today for the linear parks in drainage easements that are being built throughout my town (which due to anti-tax politicians in the 1800's has very few parks). These parks are simple walking trails but some of the views and the feeling of wildness in the city are quite striking. I'm thankful that many otherwise anti tax voters voted for a continuation of a sales tax to pay for the development of these parks and for more land acquisition.

I'm also thankful for informed and forward thinking people. I'm very pleased to see alternate forms of energy beginning to gain acceptance and use. Here, in IL, I'm happy to see growing funding and building of wind turbines emoticon

I'm thankful that we live in a country that has so many groups of educated, passionate, and well-meaning people who only want to see us remain true to nature, true to ourselves and true to the environment that we need for our survival and quality of life as humans!

What are you thankful for ecologically speaking?

What developments in the world, in society, in science, in culture, in whatever are you thankful for today?

I have a long list. But to start with I am really grateful that the people of California defeated the Prop 24 (pushed by two of my hometown oil companies) that would have rolled back California's forward thinking pollution standards.
