Favorite outdoor activity is just being outdoors. If I have to narrow it down, it depends on what type of day it is, where I am, and whether I have the proper "equipment". Some choices are softball, volleyball, hiking, using my metal detector, surf wading, "Jeff Corwin"-ing (I often give impromptu nature walks), fishing, and sometimes just sitting and taking in nature.
I suppose, if I have to narrow it down further, it's a toss-up between taking nature hikes (not just hiking somewhere; I can walk anywhere) and using my metal detector.
It used to be softball, but since I was booted from my work league in 2007 I've had a constant string of injuries which prevented me from joining a town league. After the 3-year hiatus I just don't feel the same about it. I'd probably still enjoy playing, it's just not one of my primary drivers any more.
