I'm here too! As far as topics are concerned, I think anything that we see or hear in the media about the environment/eco-friendly matters would be good to discuss. For example, I subscribe to a magazine called Mother Earth News that has some great ideas for doing things for your home and the environment around it. I can post some of the info as new topics when I get home from work!
Plant seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and weaknesses.
It is totally believable. That transition from the 70s to 80s was weird in our history. The ecological movement that rose in the late 60s was gaining political prominence only to be wrenched and discarded by time the 80s rolled around.
For example in California Jerry Brown created an Office of Appropriate Technology in the 70s that was disbanded when George Deukmejian took office.
Yeah, I think I read that some time ago as well. The facts are a little blurry at the moment, but I believe Reagan did it because it was during the late seventies and early eighties when oil was cheap and everyone thought it was the answer to all our problems. HA! I just wish people would look past the tip of their noses for once in our muddled history! (Pardon the cliché.)
Here's a thought for the day... I was reading an article in a magazine last night about solar energy and it said that Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the White House in the 70s, and then Reagan took them down when he took office in the 80s! No details, just the blurb, but I can't believe he took them down!!
