We have a clean up the community day..both town employees and citizens get out and sweep the streets and pick up winter debree. NH also has an active "Adopt a Highway" program..local people and businesses adopt a section of highway or roadway to keep clean of litter.

We totally have to participate in Earth Day!

I don't know if there are any local events goign on involving it...

I like the idea of cleaning up a couple of times. I wish there was some way to get others to do this too. Once the snow melts around here it is a mess.

An April challenge... there has to be an Earth Day tie in there. Perhaps volunteer at a festival, go to a festival, volunteer to be a zero-waste monitor at a festival (I did this last weekend).

Some of us are busy with multiple jobs, parents, so a less time consuming practice may be to strike up at least one conversation per week about resource use with someone or research the topic if we are not knowledgeable.

I like it Mel. When I walk my dogs (twice a day for their "long" walk) I make a point of collecting one piece of litter each time. it is amazing how I never run out of litter to collect... I do like it.

I have a suggestion for a challenge!

During the month of April take 2 opportunities to collect litter in your neighbourhood.
I live on a main drag and I can easily fill a grocery bag every other week.

What do you think?

Hi William,
Sorry I can't volunteer to be a co-leader yet. Only been with Sparks for a little over a month. I am looking forward to new challenges in April. Nice to hear from you.

Hello Eco Sparkers!

How is everybody? I hope well. First I would like to apologize. I have been a bit MIA lately. Work has been insane and when I get home from work (I have 2 full time jobs) I donít have energy for anything else (Now it is the perfect time for one of you to volunteer as co-leader! LOL), but I want to keep our team going and even jazz it up a bit. So, Since I am a procrastinator by nature (Am I ever going to learn?), I am trying to plan ahead and start working on Aprilís challenges. Any suggestion? I will be trying to be more present. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
