LOL, HALLUCINATING! Yes, I have noticed the crabgrass grows best in my lawn, too!
Thanks so much for the website, CYCLEWOMAN. It gave me some great ideas of what to look for. I know that some people have tried the buffalo grass in Boise (slightly lower elevation than us) and have had some luck - I 'm heading that way in a couple weeks, so I think I'll check into it more then. Thanks again!
buffalo grass is great if it will grow at your elevation- we are at 7500 in Colorado, so it doesn't do well here. High Country Gardens www.highcountrygardens.com/catalog/b ro wse/native-turf-grasses/ is a nursery in Santa Fe that sells native plants and grasses for the west. We have had success with fescues here.
Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to replant my back lawn, and am wondering if anyone who lives in the "high desert" region of the western U.S. could give me some advice/testimonials on what might be the best grass to plant? I want something that won't want too much water (like bluegrass) and that is resistant to full sun - it gets pretty intense here. Thanks in advance!
