I don't know how I missed this thread when it first started, but I'm glad I caught it when it was on the Digest!

I think the water one and the huddling one would be easy starters. I know that I need my water, and unless I actively TRACK it, I tend to get too litle...

Huddling would keep us connected...

I'm on another little team, for my SP Class. We have a daily sound off thread. We keep it simple. Just a quick post on how you did that day, i.e. went for 20 minute walk, did well on cals, anything really.

Hi People, Im back as well, as sparkpeople has been the best thing for me while loosing weight.

I would love to huddle and stay updated with you guys - when I came in here a couple of days ago it just didn't seem like this group was that active anymore.

I do understand it can be difficult to get time to post and be active in every single team. I too can feel I lack time to get around all my teams - we do after all luckily all lead active lives away from the computer!

However, I do think it's a shame our little team here seems inactive to the occasional passer-by, when it really isn't. (just look at all the great blogs from our members). How to solve that problem?

Easy: Huddles.

Huddles are quick, short messages. You can ask for support, celebrate, moan, complain, and/or just say hi in seconds. AND you earn Spark Points while doing so.

Result: The team stays alive, we stay in touch, and we earn points.

So come join the new Team Goal and let's huddle!

Hey all,

I have now been without spark for some months, and its not working out. Ill be back and join in the goals of the team as soon as i have this conference that im attending done with. I don't have a walking counter - and i mostly use my bike - but im up for loosing some dress sizez :P

Excellent ideas everyone!

I agree: Let's try something simple and easy to track.
The 8 cups of water-challenge is great. Getting enough water is one of my own (many) challenges.

Still, I like the "lose x cm" challenge as well. I'd really like to drop 2 dress sizes! How many cm do you figure 4 people would be able to lose in a month? Besides, we have to measure the same things. I use Teresa Tapps measurements: Upper arms; chest; bust; under bust; waist; abdomen; hips (hip-bones); "hips II" (I've thrown in my own personal measurement of my saddlebags - urgh!); upper thighs; over knee; calf.
But we can agree on less!

OK, I've put up a Team Goal of drinking 8 cups of water/day
AND my personal pet goal: Walk 10000 steps/day

Now, we just have to figure out the cm-thing!

Jenarul - think you have a good idea there. An easier commitment is probably the best at first.

I'm definitely up for a 8 cups of water per day challenge - as I always only seem to get to 6 or 7, and I'm sure that those last glasses would actually make quite a big difference at the end of the evening - preventing me for wanting that extra sweet!!!

Otherwise - what is everyone's biggest personal challenge? Maybe we could get some ideas from that too?

How about we start off with something simple. This way everyone can ease into the new routine of tracking the team goal and soon turning it into habit. For example. Team goal: Drink 8 cups of water per day./ Stretch 5 minutes per day.
Once we get the hang of committing ourselves to simple goals we can afterwards start challenging ourselves to more difficult things. How about that?

What you eat in private shows in public.

Hello all :)

ok, so far it seems we have 4 people in our little team goal setting for losing cms:

Jenarul: 167 cm
Poly-E: 172 cm
Marni_Kay: 172 cm
Frida11: 177 cm


Think it'll take quite a long time for us to lose the height of someone if it's just us 4. Maybe we could set up the goal on the team page and wait for people to join us? Poly-E, what do you think as our team leader?

Yes, as I understand it, we can have several Team Goals. Yep - "up to 5 goals" it says.

I don't know if it's possible to compete between single members, but it's possible to set up two identical groups who compete about who meet the goal first.

The idea with inch-loss is great, imo! I vote we do it in cm's, though - heh!
I'm 172 cm tall, btw.

Det lyder som en rigtig go ide' de har fundet paa, saa hva' ka' vi finde paa?

Det kunne maaske vaere en go ide' til at starte med at finde ud af hvor mange 'aktive' medlemmer vi har - saa naar vi saetter et maal regner vi ud fra et mere realistisk antal.

Hey everyone - before vi start off with our new Team Goals - it would maybe be a good idea to find out how many of us are still active on this Spark Team - in order to calculate more realistic goals. To do that, I guess you can just write it here! And of course any suggestions as well :)

My suggestions would include:

Together to lose the height of the tallest (or smallest) person in our team - calculated from the measurements of your own choice - ex, waist, hips, thigh, arm, calf and neck. We can choose to do the calculations in either cms or inches. Think it'll be very motivating to have a visual goal like that.

Another idea could be to have a simple competition between us - who can lose the most, either in weight, measurements or even as a BMI calculation. Think mine is 22, for example, but I would like to get it a bit further down - to maybe 19.

We can have more than 1 Team Goal at a time, can't we?

Første forslag, jeg lige kan komme på er at beholde skridt-tællerne på og fortsætte med at tælle skridt, når Tæl Dine Skridt slutter d. 27/4.
Så, 10.000 skridt/dag er mit først umiddelbare forslag.
