Nice to see how long it has been since I have posted here. In June I was complaining about being stuck in the low 220s. I'm now consistently below 215 in the morning, with my low being 211. This is BELOW my goal weight, so I need to set a new goal. I thought 215 was beyond what I could accomplish.

I do tend to gain weight in the autumn and winter, but most years I get new lows in the summer. I guess I'm just a Bear. My fiancee is the opposite, we're calling her a Wolf.

Harvest Festival for my Family is this weekend. Hope it all goes well.

We had a major issue in our relationship last night but it could turn into a positive, as my honey now recognizes some of the ways she has been trying to manipulate me. I know it's not who/what she wants to be, but she wasn't seeing that she WAS being that. I hate blow-ups but there is always something positive to be gained if you're looking for it.

I'll stop now, as I appear to be rambling. Bright blessings, all!

That sounds wonderful Camille. I've always heard you can change your mood by putting a smile on your face. Positiveness brings about more positiveness, even when one is going through a rough time. That has been my belief anyway.

I'm preparing to dump my current lifestyle and adopt another. It's an experiment. During the past 3 decades I've developed a belief system, and it's time to walk the talk.

The steps of the journey are to maintain a positive outlook, refuse to entertain doubts or fears, banish efforts to control outcomes, and gracefully surf the waves of change.

Surprisingly, one of the most effective skills I'm using to maintain perspective and equanimity is to intentionally keep a half-smile on my face. This is actually a skill I learned and have taught in mood management and emotion regulation classes! Like I said...walking the talk....

As far as my progress, now my High is 233, and I've been as low as 227... well, the other day I was 225.6, but I think the battery is going out on the scale and I need to check that. Usually you can step on the scale three times and get the same weight all three. This time I stepped on the scale and got 225.6, but then an E; the second time was 226.8, and I tried it a third time (again, it usually gives you the same weight, and I was concerned about the health of the scale) and got 227.6. So I'm not giving much credence to the low weight. I was 232 today, but I went to Mr Gatti's Pizza Buffet last night so I expected it.

Thanks. I seem to have floated back up to 233 but that's still not bad. I can't count the number of months I was bouncing in the 244-247 range.

I know how you feel about taking on administration. I helped out with some of the Challenges at Pagan Place, and wound up being made a Moderator there to run the Challenges. We had some really good ones... but the last one turned out to be me and Liocoro, with me being handicapped by surgery (no exercise allowed). Feels like a failure, but I'll persevere. I'm going to skip the next challenge period to recover, and the one after that covers the holidays (when everyone is down on themselves), so it looks like we'll pick up again at Imbolc -- and I don't like letting it go that long.

Thank you for your response. I've felt a little abandoned since I assumed leadership of this group, and am trying to lead by example by actively posting and huddling in the group...

Its nice to know that someone is at least out there listening, and I'm not just throwing my voice into the wind, as it were.

Congrats on your continued success!! I'll send along some good thoughts to see you break 230 this week!

Sorry you feel that way. I don't pay attention much to what group I'm posting in, have about 5 pagan/alternative SparkTeams I'm in. But the ebb and flow of messages is a natural thing, and any group with fewer than 100 members is sure to have some long ebbs. (I haven't checked the number of members in this group, just speaking from my experience running groups.) I read everything SP tells me is here to read, and only respond when I feel one is needed (such as your post).

Life is being very lifelike lately, and I have more stress than ever, which leads me to do a lot of virtual foetal position and whimper a lot instead of post. Hope yours is going better. The good news is I'm losing weight, my low is now 230 (from a high of 305) and I'm threatening to break that this week.
