I don't get on the scale everyday because when I used to do that, it drove me crazy. I usually go with how my clothes fit. Whatever works is good though.

I finally made it to Onederland. I just take it one moment at a time.

I take it one pound at a time with the goal of losing 2 - 3 lb at a time. I used to think anywhere from 10 to 25 lbs as a goal. Never bite off more than you can chew. 10 - 25 lbs was too over-whelming for me. Lower numbers are better and more attainable. I know it is not what you should do, but I weigh myself on the average daily, not only to see if I lost but to see if I gained or stayed the same. Do not go on the scale with expectation, but as a guide. It works for me. I have lost 10 lbs already.

I stripped down to my birthday suit and gently with eyes closed, stepped on the scale after not knowing for a week. Expecting to please please be down at least one pound. (My goal, one pound a week.)

I opened my eyes to see "LO." I tried it again 3 times when it registered with me that the battery was low. I don't have an extra battery for the scale. Didn't even know it would need one, because I am from the generation that used the kind of scales that lasted a lifetime without batteries.

(My DH had replaced our old reliable scale with this new digital one because the numbers were larger for our old tired eyes.)

So I got dressed once again for the day and had to wait for a battery.

Mari3690 I am praying for you. I have friends that have fibromyalgia and I know it is very painful and debilitating at times. Plus you have some added things. I have made up in my mind that we all have something. I am just trying to deal with it one day at a time, which I am very sure you do everyday. Hang in there.

Islaorangestar, I think that is all we can do, just one moment at a time. That has been no motto for a while.

The scale shows I have lost some weight. I weigh in tomorrow at my pre-diabetes class and I will see what that scale says.

It helps me to know y'all are trying to feel better one hour at a time and one day at a time. A week's worth of eating right and exercising the way we should will add up until we wake up one morning and think, "Hey, I feel much better!" emoticon

I told my friend she drew her eyebrows too high. She seemed surprised.

Carrie310 - Sure hope you stay out of the hospital and the health situation improves. I have fibromyalgia, epilepsy and a ton of other things. If one thing isn't flaring up, it's another. So I can totally understand how hard it is to be focused on losing weight and getting more fit. Baby steps!!!!

Hi everyone. I have been MIA. I have been in the hospital for cellulitis again. I am doing well now.

I haven't been here in such a long time. Been back on track since Dec.6th.I found out that I'm pre diabetic and want to change that. It was no surprise to me knowing the way I ate. Love my sweets. My doctor said if I lose weight and take my meds I will not become diabetic! This wake up call was enough for me to keep marching down the villes to Onederland and beyond and not look back. I hope to see Onederland by the summer if my body will co operate. Linda

I made goal today! Time to set a new one, I think. I originally set my goal to be 150 lbs.--the lowest I've been since my late 20s and about 20 lbs. overweight--I think I'll try to lose the last 20-25 lbs.. Thanks, sparkpeople!

I lost a lb this week. Was hoping for more but got sidelined by the flu. However, I lost inches! Super happy about that. An inch from my hips, 3/4 inch from my waist and 1/2 inch from my thighs. Woohoo!

Good for you Cathy. I always want something sweet and that is so hard to find because everything is chocolate and I am not really a chocolate eater. However, I did buy an Atkins snack over the weekend and some sugar free gummy bears. My problem is I eat it all up almost at one time. I need to work on portion control.

Lost 0.8 pounds last weigh in (partial week), but unfortunately didn't lose this week. Too much snacking. Definitely something I need to work on. At least I went shopping Thursday night before it turned bitter cold again, so now I have some healthier options available in the house.

Happy Monday to everyone. I hope everyone had a great weekend. My weekend was good until I got the first news that one of my old church members had passed, then got another call, another person I knew had passed, and then the third call that another person had passed. The saying is it comes in 3s, well the quota has been met.

The weather here was cold, but not bitterly cold. Tomorrow we will probably think we are in the islands with temperatures in the 40s.

Doing great so far. Weight is actually going down. Weekends are the hardest for me, since we usually go out to eat with friends at least once. Restaurant food is often a bit high in sodium (especially the soups), though I try my best to make healthy choices.

Temp here in the Chicago area is 1 right now, going down to -6 tonight. Supposed to be 10 tomorrow, in the 30s for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, then in the 40s for Wed and Thurs!

Woke up this morning and got in a few steps and used my mini bike for 20 min so off to a good start. I made home made chili and cornbread. My mom always did that and it brought back many wonderful memories of her and our days together.
Tomorrow it's back to work so will have to get back in the grove and getting out of the house on time. Having two weeks off was nice but sure makes it hard getting back on track lol lol
Ok team here we go one pound at a time, one day at a time. We can do this and we need to be here to help each other out on those hard days. We Will NOT give up!

I joined this team some 80 or so days ago but haven't really participated. I want to start checking in here daily. I think the one pound at a time is the way to go too. I am 58 and have a lot of weight to lose. I take medications that cause weight gain which makes it harder but my doctor tells me it isn't impossible. I want to get myself out the door and walking more.

It's great to see you back. I have reset my goal starting Jan 1 st. My first goal is 25 pounds and that will get me into onederland!!! I pray I will make it my March. My step goal is still at 10,000, hydro fit class 2x a week, shallow water exercises 2x a week and use my inside mini bike 20 min a day for my legs and my arms.
2018 Here I come One day at a time-----One pound at a time---( with me one ounce at a time) One step at a time.

Great job Linda719! That is a big step. Keep up the good work.

Been working on my todo list and have 4 things marked off already! I took time out to come on here and then to watch the Oregon bowl game and then right back to it. One thing on my list is to drink a cup of water every hour. Iam on 4 and it should be 7 so need to push a little harder. We did groc. shopping and went and paid a coupe of bills and so did not drink during that time. I will push a little harder while watching the game. I did not get any snacks or drinks for the game so water it is!

Staff party yesterday, met with a 2nd Cuz from out of state for dinner out tonight, Classroom parties tomorrow...and on it goes. Trying but not doing well but not giving up and really looking forward to the new challenge. I can and I will do this. I did not hit my goal so I will reset it and try again. I hope we really work together and encourage each other and share ideas of what is working for us and that all of us find what works for us and that we will all see a loss this new year.

Weight has been creeping up. I have a list of excuses as to why but, as I look at them they are JUST EXCUSES! I need to get back on track and throw out the excuses and look at the positives. That is my goal for this week--NO EXCUSES--ONLY POSITIVIES!

Last night was my middle daughters 31st birthday. All three of my girls were here, one boyfriend, one like a son friend, my nephew, niece and great niece were here. We went to a portal escape room and oh my what fun! I was not going to do it but they talked me into it and so happy that they did! We got through all three rooms with 2 min. to spare! We really had to work together to solve all the clues. May have to try a different one soon.

Feeling better, my shoulder still hurts at times but I don't have to use the sling any more. The Dr. told me not to use it as my shoulder might freeze up from not using it and that I would not get that movement back so it's grin and bare it lol

I have gotten part of the weight I gained over Thanksgiving off. My feet are still swollen so need to really bear down on the salt and see if I can get them back down.
I had three days off this week because of conferences so have gotten start with a little Christmas shopping. My number 2 daughter's birthday is next Friday and I have her shopping done for that so I'm feeling pretty good. Tomorrow is the local Christmas parade so will go and watch that and maybe get a little done around here.
I hope that you allhave a great weekend and post often I miss the chats.

On Thanksgiving I didn't have seconds but I did have pie. Also my oldest daughter was in town so Fri. and Sat we ate out. Tried to make ok choices but as my weight showed I really gained. I know water is part of it as my feet are really bigger. I just made turkey noodle soup as my daughter gave me the bones so I will be eating that this week and I hope those feet get back to normal and so does my weight.

went to silver sneakers this morning then took a nap this afternoon so not a lot of movement today.....never even thought about attempting shopping...not my thing on Black Friday......good day to stay home and be safe...

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. I hope that you had a great day and was able to be with loved ones and/or friends. I spent the day at my youngest daughters home helping her with her first Thanksgiving dinner. It turned out great and I hope that I made good choices as far as food goes. Now my feet are up and I am relaxing at home. Have a coupe stores to hit tomorrow and then hope to decorate the house and just enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Here's to a new `season , a new day. a new start , a new us!

Well I have been stuck at 95 kilos for freaking ever... but I bought some workout gear in 2014... the shorts fit but the shirts were too tight. This week the shirts magically fit. They fit well. So although the scale has not moved, something changed. I must have lost some fat off my stomach and gained muscle elsewhere. Since I was on a diet break the last 2 months I have taken no measurements. Time to measure and see what happened.

I consider that a non-scale victory emoticon

TUKARAMA and SKATMAN you both are doing great. Hang in there and never give up. Keep an eye on those non=scale victories! Sometimes our bodies need a rest to adjust and move things around in and around our bodies.

I lost 32pounds as of today, I cam back in July 2017.

My Vision Statement:
To get off of my medications; Cholesterol statin, Hypothyroid levothyroxine,after effects from statin is hitting my quads and sharp pain in knees, to finish a marathon and too get at my healthy weight at 146lbs, so I can look better and do more things; to be able to work more active jobs, run a marathon, wear better clothes- more of a variety and feel better. To have more energy and get rid of my sleep apnea. I am feeling more energetic and sleeping better.

I am starting back on tracking... I took a diet break. I needed it. I still watched what I ate, just no logging for a while.

I was losing 1 kilo a week very consistently for 5 months. I knew it would not last, but there was no slow down, more of a dead stop. I spent the next 5 months totally plateaued. The year started good, but just stopped. I was plateaued so long I learned how to spell "plateau"! That is bad ha ha.

Anyway 22 kilos down (48 lbs to you Yanks ha ha). 10 or 12 kilos to go!

I wasn't supposed to work the gift shop today but Maria had a knee replacement so I decided to be in the gift shop instead of the surgical lounge........besides the chair is much more comfortable......lol...Anyway Beth (gift shop manager) sure was happy to see me so she could concentrate on setting out the new inventory IE: Christmas stuff.........then she sprung a 20% off sale on me...........I sold nearly $350 worth of merchandise before I left.....she took over when I left...

Feeling much better I think I am back on the healthy path.
ESMERELDA12-- I love your post about shopping for jeans. Sometimes we need others to tell us what they see as we don't always see the changes as we re losing. I can not see the difference but others come up to me and will say they can really see it. I have been working on standing in front of a mirror and repeat affirmations about myself. I pray that someday soon I will start seeing they really are true.

Fifty pounds gone! I went to buy a couple of pairs for pants to tide me over this past weekend. I picked 'curvy' cut for the skinny jeans to accommodate me thunder thighs in a size that already felt impossibly small. A saleswoman offered to bring other pairs to my fitting room. The jeans didn't fit through the thighs--too baggy. She asked me why I was getting 'curvy,' explaining "Those are for women heavy in the thighs." I said that's why I picked them and was surprised when she kept saying that my thighs are small. Then I noticed that they are. I've lost a lot of weight from there--maybe because of all the water jogging? She also kept saying things like advice about what kind of jean would give me the sexiest look. I can't believe that somebody thinks I am a woman who might aspire to looking sexy in jeans! I've still got quite a bit to lose but--wow--I guess it's showing! Weird, but I felt a little anxiety about how to shop in the smaller sizes. I don't know what to buy, now.

Stayed home Friday as the stomach flu hit. In fact it hit 3 of the 5 of us that work together. I am feeling better but still not up to par.
This week I am going to work on decluttering. I started with cleaning off a tv table stacked with papers..old mail and papers. Then I started on my desk top I think this will be a good week!
We can and will do this!

Just had to share this funny. I was bringing home from school the little kinder my daughter watches. I told her I was just dropping her off as I had to so some running around(paying bills) She goes your going to run around? I answered yes and she goes WOW! you go swimming and you round around that's a lot! lol lol I did not try to explain to her I just let her think I was really doing a lot. lol lol

My goals are:
1. Walk 10,000 steps each day +
2. Eat healthier foods +
3. Eat out only once a week
4. Drink 64 oz. a day +
5. Stay within my calorie range 1,200 / 1,400 +
6.Deep water hydro class 2 X a week
7. Shallow water exercise 2X a week
8. Keep sodium around 1,000 a day +
9. Do wall pushups starting with I on the 1st and add one more each day for a month. +
10. Do one chair sit up on day 1 of the month and add one more each day of the month +
11. Ride mini bike 10 min in the morning and 10 min every night +
12 Thigh master (arms /thighs) 5 nights a week +
13. Weigh 199 or lower the morning of 1/1/18

I went to see my Dr. for my meds check up and she was so pleased for me! She said that I had lost 55 pounds since she had seen me. I think that was1/12 yr ago She said to keep doing what I have been doing as all my blood work-up came back with no flags in fact she was really pleased with them. I do need to go in for a test to see how brittle my bones are.Since I have never had a broken bone she figures it will come back fine. Said to keep taking my B12,,D and calcium along with my reg. meds.
I really want to reach my goal of 199 before 1/1/18. 13 pounds to go.

The first few days of joining I actually gained a pound but since then have lost that, plus 4 more. It feels great to be in the driver's seat again. CONGRATS to all making progress or at least trying. We're entering the last quarter of the year and I intend to keep at this and see a healthier and lighter me on New Year's Day!
