Did well this week eating wise. Could have done better with exercise. I watch my grandchildren Wednesday thru Friday. My grandson is only 1 year old (the girls are old enough for school and we just put them on the bus in the morning) and it's hard for me to get in any structured exercise on those days. Just got my new walker this morning - I should be able to start walking regularly.

So nice to finally have a couple of days where I don't have to rush here or there. Just TOPS tomorrow morning and then laundry.

Today I took 5 quilts/heavy blankets to the laundromat since they are too heavy for my washer.

Been on the go for 3 weeks now, leaving early and getting home late. Next week ,so far, is a very quiet week but I'm not telling anyone that......lol

Thanks for asking IWANTTOSUCCEED .The football game was a great one but we ended up losing by 3 points. I did great with the snacking. Hit the veggies and fruit with just a couple crackers with cheese and meat. So all in all I feel good and looking forward to the next game.

PAGE2015, Hi! Did your teams win? My Vikings won, and the Eagles with ND's Carson Wentz won, too. After 2 whole games, we didn't watch Sunday night football.

RE: apple juice. My DH built our own apple press so we can drink fresh apple juice all Fall. I plan to can some, since we got a bumper crop of apples this year.

I joined the Holiday challenge, which will certainly challenge me as I have never ever been that consistent. I'm a 2 steps forward, one step back kinda gal. I need to add more exercise to my week, in addition to M, W, F yoga. I wore my HR monitor last week, and I must have improved, as I didn't raise my heart rate like I used to. I need to do more walking and strength training.

That's great Charlene. We can do this just taking it one pound at a time.

Today is football day at our house. There will be6 of us here watching and cheering on our team! We always have something to eat so this week I got veggies, fruit, cheese,crackers and sausage. I will hit the veggies and fruit so should not be to bad. I also went out to a farm that makes apple cider and got that for me to drink instead of pop.

I started yesterday before I go to eat something I repeat in my mind 15 pounds.......14 weeks. It slows me down and I seem to make a better choice.

PAYINITFORWARD----nice to see you. Would you like to join us in losing 15 pounds by 2017?

Did ok today did go over my goal in sodium and feet are swollen so need to work harder on that. Tomorrow is a new day--new goals--and new victories. It is game day but got veggies and some meet and cheese to munch on for the game and this week I got myself water to drink instead of pop! If I munch I will hit the veggies.
Today each time I sat down to eat I said to myself--remember 15 pounds! It made me stop before I took that first bite and thinking do I really want to eat this?? It helped a couple of times.

I have challenged myself to get down to 215 by Dec 30th which is just a pound off of losing 1 pound a week as there are 14 weeks and I need as of today to lose 15 pounds.
So Richard the challenge is on 1 pound a week starting today. My weigh in will be on Friday's. If you want to challenge me let me know and we can do this one pound at a time.
I also saw your goals you have set for yourself on your blog. Richard, I am sure you can also reach them by facing them each morning with a prayer and a strong I can make it through this one day. Don't look at the big picture look at just today.

page if you use recent rather than favorites, then anything you havent eaten in a while will not appear

I am going to post this question in a few forums to see if I can get an answer. Maybe it is not possible.
When posting my food I have done a search on the same food more then once or have gone and eaten something that I won't ever eat again....Is there any way I can go in and clean these up? I noticed that the favorites are in alphabetical order. Would love to do this with my favorites also. I can not figure out how to do this clean up. Can any one out there help me?

DELLA, WTG on getting to the gym and your plan!

DH and I have decided to walk/jog 4 days a week at the park and the other 3 days will be ST, stretching and a day of rest. It'll require commitment for sure, but if we keep our fridge and pantry stocked with healthy foods/snacks, plan and prep meals ahead of time, stay focused on what we want and where we want to be and remain positive along the way... we can do this. Oh yes we can!!

I started lower body ST yesterday after not working out for a few years. Nothing strenuous I thought, until i got up this morning. I can feel my thigh and glute muscles even sitting down. But that's a good hurt I don't mind at all.

Started back to the gym today. I will be going with my daughter 2 nights a week and in October when the pool opens back up I am going to do the deep water exercises 2 nights a week. The rest of the week will be walking videos.
I want to be at 215 by Dec 31st. Won't be easy with all the holidays but I will make it thanks to my friends on here and my family.

Daily goals: Eat with in my nutritional goals *
Walk 11,500 steps- not yet but I have my evening walk to do yet. I will make it!
Exercise 20 min.*
drink 8 glasses of water----still 2 left so will so I am sure I will make it
be a positive person and encourage others*
sodium at 1,000mg or lower--1,035 dang but still better
My feet are still swelling as I have been on them so much at work. This summer I would take breaks and put them up --can't do that at work. So need to find some compression socks to wear to work and continue to drink that water and watch my sodium.I hope that each of you will set daily goals and let us know how you are doing.
We can do this one pound at a time!

I am trying to do 10,000 steps a day, but that does not happen on a regular basis. Only once in awhile. I do wear my fitbit everyday though.

Had a great day at work. I fast walked 20 min this morning and 15 min. tonight. That plus all the walking at work today I have over 11,500 steps ( it has been over a month since I hit this goal) and have not gone to bed yet. I also met all but one of my food goals. That sodium got me once again! I had 1,300mg but I drank a lot so hope it will work the water on through.
Looking forward to a great day tomorrow
Oh a NSV-- We were given new t-shirts at work and when I went to pick minre out of the pile there was some med. some large and 2 3X left. I wore 3x last year and I did not want to go there so I took a large in hopes I could get into soon. Well, I wore that shirt to work today! I felt it was a little tight but both of my daughters said "It looks great mom!" I love victories like this!

NSV- For the game yesterday I wore a shirt size x-large!!! In July 2015 I was wearing 3X!!!! I was so excited that I could wear it and it was not tight at all. I am looking forward to wearing large before I know it! emoticon

Congratulations Della. I am proud of you. I have to wear my compression stockings everyday and they seem to help with my swelling, but if it is from salt intake I usually have to take an extra fluid pill for about 2 days before I see any results. I hope your swelling goes down soon. I made a vision board some months ago, now I am working on what I wrote. I so agree with your one whatever at a time. I do minutes. So good luck, but I know you and I will make this journey work for us.

BTW, I hate those stockings. The new ones which as smaller cut into my skin, so my doctor said just put the others on, as long as I am wearing them.

Still fighting the swollen feet. Once they puff up it takes a while for them to go back down to normal. May have to get out my socks and wraps if they don't give up soon.
I have made a new commitment to my weight loss starting this 1st day of Sept. Had a good high fiber breakfast and I did some walking this morning and I got out the thigh master and did the arm and leg exercises this morning 4 sets of 15 each.I also did 2 sets of 15 squats. I printed off a chart to track my exercising so it is up right in front of me pushing me to not sit here but to move. So here is a new month...a new day...a new start...one step at a time ..one squeeze at a time ..one?????? at a time.
Thanks team for being here keeping me encouraged and motivated. emoticon

no excuse --to much sodium yesterday shoes will not even go on. Water,water,water today and no noodles from Noodle company again My body won't take it. I am sure my weight will be right back down as I was at 225.2 yesterday morning.

I want to improve my sleep - hopefully if I exercise more, as the article suggests, it will help.

I tried giving up dieting but it didn't work! So now I'm doing the NoS diet which is as close as not dieting as I can get at the moment!

I hope that next time I would plan ahead better and when eating out I would make better choices. I enjoy sharing food and fellowship with friends and family so I need to train myself to control my eating.

Thanks for the ideas. I plan on this being a positive year work wise and health wise! I am really working on thinking healthy and not diet. Diet is a --no I "can't" have that--no I "can't" have this no I "can't" go there as they will have food I "can't" have.... I want a ..it's ok I can have this and I will make sure the rest of the day is healthy! I will not give up or get down and out this way. I have been getting healthy for a year now one pound at a time and still enjoying life and not getting depressed because "I CAN'T HAVE OR DO OR GO" I have and will live each day the best that I can one day at a time.

Yes I have that trouble with boredom - seem to cut so many things out that it sends me over the edge after a while! How about salad made with halved cherry tomatoes, bite size chunks of orange bell pepper, bite size chunks of cucumber, rice cakes, tinned fish or boiled eggs? Apple, banana, easy peelers, grapes, a grapefruit chopped into pieces, and wet wipes for sticky fingers.

Took my measurements yesterday for the month and lost 1 1/2 inches! Not a lot but this past month was a down month and I did not do my walking or exercise videos I only did the water classes so I am happy I lost some.
I am ready for a new month and to see more movement and bigger results! One pound at a time ...one inch at a time.

I have three weeks before I go back to work so need to start getting into my work routine. I need ideas for lunches that are low in sodium and easy to take to work. We have a frig and microwave. I seem to have a problem of getting into a rut of taking the same thing and then I get bored and down I go. So any ideas out there would be a big help. Thanks in advance.
