Even though this has been a very stressful week I still was able to lose! I did get the car stress taken care of and I pray my daughters health problems will be an easy fix very soon! I just need to lean on Him and He will give me rest. Have a great week and be positive!

9 PM and it's still 87 degrees......just went out and hand cut the weeds around the AC unit as they were over waist high......also cut the stuff around the steps....taking the weed whacker to the repair shop in the morning so hopefully I'll get it back soon as I have lots of weed whacking to get done...........the weed whacker has been broke most of the time lately..also got my laundry off the line so now have to hang it up or put it away..

up 2/10 pound at weigh in yesterday morning..

I joined a challenge about fiber. I have not met my fiber or protein goals in months and then it was just once in a while. I started yesterday and I met my goal and I also just posted today's food plan and again I met both!! So my goals on here are to meet my daily goals in calories,sodium,fiber, and protein. One step at a time...One goal at a time. Are any of you working on meeting a special goal?

7/4/16: 226.3 (+.4) New battery in the scales so I hope the weight is back on track and that I am back on track. T 7th will be 1 year on this path. I have lost #'s and I have gained energy. I am able to do so much more then I did a year ago! NSV's are just as important.

SURPRISE!!!!!!! Well thanks to our car we only went 20 miles and then turned around and came back home! I had it floored and the top speed it would go was 45! on the freeway ! Took it in today and got part of it fixed as they do not do the other part.. Checking to see if friends might be able to do it Or find a place that will not charge an arm and leg. We will see maybe we can go see family next month. Just feel so blessed that it acted up so close to home and not out on one of the mountains where it would have cost us an arm and a leg to get it fixed and no choice where to take it so God knew what was best!
Stress eating really hit and I did not give in fully but enough to gain a pound but, I hope today it will come back off as I am really working on watching what I am eating.
So here we go into a weekend and looking for a good one. Will help mow the lawn to get a little exercise tomorrow and we will need to groc shop as we were not planing on being here.
I hope that you all will have a great Sat. and I will be here for weigh in day.

I would love to go to a heath and fitness camp. Sounds like fun.

Della, I have found that water aerobics and line-dancing have made such a difference in the way my clothes look on me. I have not lost that much weight because of the way I eat. I am working on that daily. My eating habits are not what they used to be, but they could be better.

Congratulations Della for your hard work and sticking to it attitude.

Went to a health and fitness camp 2 weeks ago lost 7 pounds and this past week I lost 5 pounds. That was to get me started on a loosing streak! I had been gaining steadily for several months and I needed to turn it around. Now I am hoping for 1-2 pounds a week. emoticon

7/11/16: 225.4 (-.9) mmmmmmmmm well very close to 1 pound maybe I should have gone to the bathroom one more time before weighing lol lol But that is ok I went down and that is all that counts. I had two none gym days this week so that might have made a difference also. My daughter was sick, This coming week I will be leaving to go see my sister and her family and my brother and his family. So will miss two swim days and at least 1 gym day so I will really need to watch what I eat and try to get in as many steps as I can We are going to be going through boxes of old pictures and see if we can get names to them.. I will not be home for the weigh in so I pray by the next weigh in I will be down 2 pounds.

As I read this article I just wanted to share the information with each of you. I planed to make a low sodium veggie soup dor my dinner meals this week . Then I read this and wow I am so happy I chose to do this. It's not only low in calories but it is so healthy for my body.

One year ago today I started this new path in my life of working on becoming healthier. In that years times I have loss 30.2 pounds, I have gone from 2,000 steps a day to over 11,500 steps a day, I have gone from no exercise to going to the gym this summer with my daughter 3 times a week. I have also started going to deep water aerobics with a co-worker 3 times a week and most of the time we stay for both classes. So how do I feel about this journey?? I feel great! I feel so blessed by meeting so many nice people on here and I feel good about the changes I have made. I am now ready to get off the next 25 more pounds so that I will be below 200. I pray that they will come off soon as I so want to be below 200. I think it was in 79 the last time I was below 200.
Here's to a new year of making new friends,and becoming healthier.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU for the encouragement and for showing me I can still do it...it is never to late.

Good evening team, well I forgot to weigh myself yesterday so will wait until tomorrow after my TOPS meeting. I was away this weekend and stayed in hotel and ate restaurant food but tried to make sure lots of salad. water was hard as I have bladder issues and don't like to have to much fluid when traveling.

Welcome Liz......most of the time just starting is the hardest...as for veggies...do you like tomatoes?....they are super this time of the year....how about apples or peaches?......just pick one to add to you food choices beginning with once a week for one week, then 2 times a week the next week, and etc......don't try to do it all at once.......even potatoes are good for you and low calorie if not adding lots of gravy or butter....I put unsweetened applesauce on my bakes potatoes...

hopes this may help.....I am one of the fortunate people as I love fruits and veggies...but being rained on a farm and having a garden almost every year we were married helped too....my dad was firm believer that if you didn't raise it you didn't need it so we had very little store bought foods growing up..

Hi everyone! I am not much on posting stuff myself but I do enjoy reading everyone else's posts. I get much encouragement from them. I have started and given up so many times it is unbelievable! This time I am going to do my best to stick with it. My daughter has invited me to use their pool anytime I want to so I have started swimming at least 3 times a week at least for an hour or more. Hopefully that will help me with the exercising. But it makes me soooo hungry. I am a very picky eater and of course that means I don't like veggies. I am trying. One pound at a time seems like it is doable but so far I have gained instead of losing. Oh well onward and upward ( or should that be downward?) I will try to do better with my posting.

Elsie, Thanks and yes I have seen and felt many NSV in the past year. Thanks for the reminder to look back. Also love your name. My mom's sister's name was Elsie and I always loved saying Aunt Elsie. So you bring back other memories also. emoticon

Lorie this is a good place to start and one pound at a time is such a good saying to work with. When I look at the big numbers I get lost and feel defeated but when I look at just one pound I feel like I can see victory. emoticon and emoticon together one step at a time.

FABGRAMMA- emoticon Take it nice and slow and as We all have seen it is so much easier when we take it one pound/one step at a time. I even take it one day at a time. Here's to a new start!

Come back often Carrie not many post here any more.
Well this is just about the end of week 2 of my summer vacation. Here's how I am doing on meeting my summer goals.
1. get below 200 by Sept.4th-------working on it very slow
2. go exercise in deep water M W F with a co-worker -----met
3. with my daughter to her gym t th sat.-----met met
4. still walk my 11,500 steps a day------met
5. clean out my VERY MESSY garage(get rid of stuff I have not seen or used the last 4 years)----not this week
6.make cards,scrapbook,and just down right relax! --- met today
What a great start!

I knew it was to good to be true! My daughter came over and got weighed and she weighed 7 pounds less on my scales then on hers and she had jusr weighed! She moved my scale just a little and she was back to what her scales said!!! So I go on it and no I did not lose! I have been in tears as I have been working so hard and really thought I had finally broken through well here's to another week and I will not be fooled again. So here's the truth ,

Thank you for the rose. My first week of summer was a full one,a fun one, and it ended on a happy note! I am almost afraid to post it as I can't believe it! I ate more this week as it said to with my workouts so I was looking for a pound loss and here I lost 6 pounds!!!! I pray that it is gone forever this time. I put those 6 pounds back on that last month of school so maybe they were emotional-stress pounds and when I let go of the stress and opened up to relaxing and moving and using my body ...my body decided it was safe to let them go???? What ever the reason I am happy and after my day of rest I will be ready to do it all over again. One day at a time..One pound at a time! Here's to a new week and a good start.

I made it for a week and I really,really like the water aerobics! I have also enjoyed going to the gym with my youngest daughter. Tomorrow will be a week at the gym also and then Sunday is my day off. Here's how I am doing so far on my summer goals.
1. get below 200 by Sept.4th-------working on it
2. go exercise in deep water M W F with a co-worker -----met
3. with my daughter to her gym t th sat.-----met
4. still walk my 11,500 steps a day------met
5. clean out my VERY MESSY garage(get rid of stuff I have not seen or used the last 4 years)----worked for 1 hour
6.make cards,scrapbook,and just down right relax! --- have not done this yet.maybe tonight.
What a great start!

BCRUSSEME.. I am an oldie and I keep losing the same pounds over and over. This past year thanks to Sparks, and my daughters I have gotten on a better path and seem to be doing better. I have lost 30 pounds since last July would love to hit my next goal of 35 by my 1st year.
I made it through both water aerobic classes today. I felt a few sore spots from the gym yesterday but not bad. My daughter said we would work on different parts of the body each time to see if that will help me from getting real sore and then wanting to take days off. I have a positive mind set this time and that seems to really help me.
We can do this and with friends on here to encourage us we will see a difference this time! If I can help in any way let me know I.

This week is starting out on the right foot! I took both water exercise classes yesterday and I went to the gym with my daughter this morning. I really enjoyed the water exercise as I knew my heart beat was up but no weight on my body. Today was kind of an eye opener. The first machine we went to I had to keep stopping to get my breath and only lasted 5 min! But I was able to do the weights, and the bike and the ab machine and waist machine all with 25 pounds on them. We will see how I feel tomorrow lol But I know the water will help tomorrow. I am looking forward to building myself up so that I can do more reps with more weights and make it a longer time on the bike and the other machine. One step at a time!
Now I need to go out and do some weeding before it gets any hotter. I hope that all of you have a great day!

Day 5 today and I'm had 5.6 lbs gone this week. I don't want to say their lost because I don't want to find them again. I've struggled with my weight my entire life and after retirement, I became really lazy and stopped exercising plus not walking around at work made weight gain really easy. I've now started to get healthy again and my impatience shows with wanting to be thin over night. I have to constantly remind myself I didn't gain 60 lbs overnight and I can't expect to have it gone that fast. I have started using my Wii and miss the aerobics side of it. I purchased a Zumba Wii dvd about a year ago and now I've misplaced it. The short time frames on the Wii system make it hard to get into a rhythm. I wish it would give you a choice of 30 min or 60 min instead of 2, 3 or 5 minutes depending on the type of exercise. I've started doing the yoga program to try and become more flexible and relaxed. Summer vacation has begun! Yesterday as a joke to a co-worker my daughter sprayed my hair blue! My co-worker has been telling me that I needed to put a blue strip of color in my gray hair.Since it was field day(fun day) at school my daughter turned me all blue! The kids loved it, the kinders wanted to be sure that I knew my hair was blue lol lol Three 4th graders that have colored hair (2 blue and 1 purple) informed me I had joined the cool group lol Kids,parents and staff loved it! I lucked out that it did not rain while I was out with the kids or I would have been stripped blue lol It washed out great with no "little old blue hair lady " aftermath.
This morning the kinders had to be sure I knew that my hair was no longer blue lol
I did not keep track of my food today as my other daughter got me mcdonalds breakfast, we had indiv. pizza for lunch then we had snacks for our after school party and then oh my taco bell for dinner. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT it is now over and tomorrow is a new day and a new start. I have goals set for this summer. 1. get below 200 by Sept. 2. go exercise in deep water M W F with a co-worker and then go with my daughter to her gym t th sat. 3. still walk my 11,500 steps a day, 4. clean out my VERY MESSY garage(get rid of stuff I have not seen or used the last 4 years) 5.make cards,scrapbook,and just down right relax!

This challenge has not been a good one for me! I pray that the next one will see a big change. I will be exercising so I hope that will keep the weight going down as it helps change the body.My goal is to hit 199 by time school starts in Sept. Well, at this time I can't seem to keep up with my weight. I am up then down then up then down.... It is starting to drive me crazy! A co worker and I are going to start the deep water exercise class a week from this coming Monday it goes M,W,F at 7:30 am was told we could stay for a different class right after so we will see if we can make it thru both classes. Then my daughter joined a gym and she can take a friend with her so we are going to go on T.Th,Sa with Sunday off. She works nights so we will go at 7:30 am. Not sure what I will be able to do but I can walk and maybe do some arm stuff to start off with. I will be able to do this for 3 months so I hope it will get me started back down and that I will be able to see some body changes. What fun it would be to start school back a few sizes smaller and a few pounds off I would love to hit onederland when school starts. So Sparks I will be here everyday keeping you up on how I am doing. I am getting excited about it.

Roslyn.....thanks for asking......mainly just a little sore from 2 1/2 hours of walking and bending both Sun. and Mon. evenings serving the snacks at VBS and keeping the leaders/helpers table well supplied with snacks and drinks.

Della.....that's a good idea and project....I think of a question I once saw..."If you woke up this morning with just what you thanked God for last night, what would you have?"......makes one think about all the things we take for granted...

Hi ladies.

Sorry I have been MIA. Della, way back Oprah had a grateful journal. When I went back to church I made a conscious decision to change my life from where I was and as I was earlier in life. As I studied in bible study and had conversations, I began not taking things for granted and being grateful and thankful. I also have a journal for everything. I treat journalising like I do SP, not doing it all the time. I think journalising helps in so many ways. I also have a prayer journal. I think you will enjoy it and when you go back and see the things you have written and reflect on it, it makes a difference. You are going to make me start again.

Being greatful being thankful this week. Our pastor talked about how thankful we should be each and every day but for some reason we always go the neg. way. Looking into a closet of clothes and saying" I have nothing to wear" Looking into a frig with food in it and saying" there's nothing to eat"...He challenged us to start a I am thankful journal and each evening to sit down and list 4 or 5 or? things we are thankful for that day. When we focus on positive things we rest better, we are more relaxed, we are happier, we have more energy. So starting to night I have a small note book that I am turning into my "thankful" journal. I have a feeling it might help me with my weight loss also. I have a few already to write, thankful for my pastor and how he is talking the next few weeks on being positive, I am thankful for sparks and all the new friends I have made. I am thankful that I am healthier today then I was a year ago.... Now it's your turn three or four or more things you are thankful for? Get your note book and start writing
