So I am checking in today at 6:00 in the evening. It has been a long busy day......I am working to get my attitude right because we had a couple of deals fall apart today. I need to remember that there was a reason for it and God is in charge and will turn it into a good thing. Just feeling a little down at the moment.

There, now I am all better. I did good on my eating. I didn't exercise on the treadmill this morning but I have been going all day - Surely that one counts. Now I am going to do some bookwork, fix some supper and go to bed.

Back from Easter weekend with my folks ... it was all very nice. My heart is grateful for all Jesus has done for me!!

Strapped on all my weights and walked 3 miles with Leslie this morning. Laundry today too - hung one load out on the line since it is in the 60s today. I really should have gone walking this afternoon but ... no excuse ... just didn't.

Hellooooooooo

Stopping in this morning with some fresh emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon for your breakfast. emoticon

Thanks for the encouragement Karen...but I have so much paperwork that needs to be done and I am such a huge procrastinator about it.

I am taking Grson to the orthodontist today and then "may" pull weeds. (a never ending job AND a"thankless" one) The weather will be in the 80`s.....nice and warm.

So...gonna get busy...may be back on later, today.

Not how did he die, but how did he live
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away?

Good morning. A long thought today, but I liked it. I worked till 11 last night and go in at 10:30 this morning. but then I'm off two days. I'm a cashier today. That means 3 things. 1 I'll get my breaks and lunch close to on time, 2 I get to leave on time and 3 there isn't as much thinking.

April Fool's Day to each of you!

My new employee started today at 8:00 sharp. Boy I wasn't quite ready for her as I am usually sparking at that time. I am going to have to change my schedule around -- probably see me later in the day from now on. An employee keeps you on track, we will probably get a lot more done now. emoticon

I did get my exercise in before she came and managed to fix DH a good breakfast so I am on track - just a little later.

Callie - It doesn't sound like your day was a total waste if you washed the sheets, went to the grocery store and did your exercises.......plus helped a friend.

Hi eveyone!!

Later than usual in posting. I have been doing "nothing"!!! I have wasted so much of this day. I did do my exercizes and go to the grocery store but had so much more planned. My DH threw me off.

If I don`t get started in the a/m..I don`t usually get it done.

Did help a friend with setting up her page on SP.

Well..need to go and make my bed ..washed the sheets earlier today.

Hope your day was more productive. emoticon

a bit of a set back this weekend. We went out of town and ate a lot. I missed a couple of workouts but got in a least one round of taiji. I got back on track today with a good workout. week days are not so hard but weekends kill me. I do so well and then take two steps back on the weekends.

DH has been taking 2 new medicines. The past few days he has been getting dizzy and nauseated. He stopped one pill and is still having the same effects. This afternoon he is going back to the DR. Hoping they can figure out what is going on with him.

Good evening...everyone

I had a beautiful day! Sunrise Easter service at 6:00 a/m...pancake breakfast afterwards...(only had a little scrambled eggs, fresh fruit salad and 2 slices of bacon)..regular Sunday a/m service, Sunday school...and then over to my daughters` for Easter dinner. So far, have not over eaten on my calories. emoticon

Now..I need to clean up a little. have not even made my bed for the day. I have a ton of dishes. I left the house very early this a/m...5:15..and got home an hour ago.

Hope your day was just as wonderful as mine. emoticon

It has been a good day - Went to a family dinner and ate a little of everything that I don't get to eat often. I'm going to try to figure out how I did in a few minutes. I tried to be good as Monday is my weigh in day and I didn't want to blow it.

Hope everyone had a Great Easter!

Good morning. Going to be a warm one today. Temps going into the high 70's today. There was a basket of candy on the counter behind me last night. Every time I was tempted, I grabbed a piece and gave it to a child's parent. Ok the children are going to get enough candy today, but figure if the parent gave it to them it was ok. Some how it worked, I got lots of smiles and didn't eat a single piece.

Hope you ALL will have a "blessed" Easter Sunday. HE is risen!!!

Good a/m.....everyone.

Karen...I checked out your link...very impressive site. I would love to have your garden by me.

Grandchildren....gotta love them!!! Our`s still love to come over (age 11 & 15 boys ). we just had them over spring break for 4 days. Even if they just hang out...they LOVE it!

Going to a "surprise" b-day party at 11:00...it is now 10:10. It is a potluck luncheon. I am taking "finger sandwiches" so I know I will be able to have something I can eat. I made some turkey w/spinach (instead of lettuce) & mustard.

I usually do well around others, anyway. It is when I am all alone that I have binged. emoticon

Our weekend is very busy with Easter plans...how about yours`?

Have a blessed Easter Sunday and know that HE died so we may have eternal life.

GOD BLESS

Good Morning!

Vegetable recipes are my specialty. We sell vegetables at Farmer's Markets and we own a CSA where we deliver a box of vegetables to the members each week. One thing I have learned is people need to know how to use the vegetable before they will ever try it. I include a newsletter and a page of recipes for each vegetable we feature. I am in the process of renewing the recipe sheets but this is my webpage. Click under veggie information and you will find them. www.littleladybuggardens.com

I hope all of you will enjoy this Easter Weekend. It is one of the most important Holidays in my life......The day that I became free from the devil's clutches.

Good morning. I had all 4 grandchildren that live in this area yesterday. Tony leaving is a problem. DD says as soon as she says she is going Grandma's Tony gets excited and runs around grandma, grandma. When they get here he runs past me trains trains. He pulls out the old wooden trains. Grandma never even gets a hi. The problem comes when it is time to go home. Tony screams no play trains. Now I'm childless till Sunday evening. Well Beka gets home early evening but I don't get home from work till midnight.

Last night I made DH's favorite. I tried to make pie vegetation shepards pie but with corn bread. well the corn bread went down into the veggies and I ended up with corn bread with beans and veggies baked in.

I just made the Italian Vegetable Bake from SP recipes and it was delicious. It has so many veggies in it that it's easy to meet the veggie daily goal It only 37 cal. per 1/2 cup. You could add any left over meat and make it a complete meal. This is definitely a keeper.

Here's a good example of the most conservative women's swimsuits. There are models with sleeves and leggings that are not as long.

yes He thinks my swim suit is pretty good. It took my several years to find it, but it is a tank top and pair of shorts all made out of swim suit material. The tank top is more fitted then I would wear to work out so it won't float up in the water.

My favorite is "Steamers" put out by Bird`s Eye. Frozen broccolli w/cheese ans cauliflower/broccolli/carrots w/cheese. 45 calories in a frozen cup. You can eat the whole bag (either one) for 150 cals. emoticon

I have several favorites, none of which need an actual recipe:
corn on the cob, with fresh lime juice and a little cayenne pepper (instead of butter)
asparagus, lightly steamed, with fresh lemon juice and zest
Brussel sprouts, steamed, then sauteed in a small amount of bacon fat, with a little crumbled bacon

Seeing so many new people I think we should do a challenge. Everyone post their favorite vegetable recipe. Yes you can use SP recipe site to help.

Good Morning

Calli - You make me laugh. One of the first steps toward beating an addiction is confession.....so I guess you are 1/2 way toward being cured.

MaryAlice - My step son will not let his daughters wear anything too revealing when it comes to swim suits - He would highly recommend the short dress and pantaloons style. The fight it on at that house when summer comes and summer clothes are the style.

Today is a Day the Lord Has Made, Let Us Rejoice and BE GLAD IN IT! Have a good one.

"I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow."
Julia Cameron

Good morning. I needed to get Beka a swim suit. Since Beka will be spending the summer with her father, I asked him what the girls were wearing. He said the same as here, but please make sure it is age appropriate and no sling shots and eye patches. Beka picked out a bright yellow swim suit. It is a two piece but the top is long enough that only a inch of her tummy shows, and surprise my tomboy picked a swim suit with ruffles. Her father said he didn't like it and sent me a picture of a swim suit that was a short dress and pantaloons. I don't think she would fit in with that. Beke asked why he wanted her to wear a halloween costume.

WOW!!! Ginny...I would have never imaged there were all those fruits. I only think of emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon cantelope, apples, pears when I go to buy fruit.

emoticon for enlightening us.

Good a/m..everyone....I am up wayyyyyyy too early. I have a confession .....I have an addiction to SP.

My husband couldn`t sleep so he went out to the spare room so he wouldn`t disturb me. At 3:45 (nature called) I got up. I heard him come in the living room to use the other restroom. I went back to bed and pretended I was going back to sleep and then after his bedroom door shut..I got up and came on SP. emoticon

I don`t want him to know that many mornings I am on here for about 3 hours while he is asleep.

I may blog, I visit my friends spark pages, I read articles...just get lost in the time I am spending.

I am addicted and I am hiding it........I need professional help...... emoticon emoticon emoticon Does anyone know a good SP shrink that they can refer me to?

Karen, I love Perkins and their senior menu. Grilled chicken breast and 2 sides of broccoli is my favorite. I usually don't eat the roll.

Loved your pics of Walking in God's Land ... beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind remarks ... this journey is definitely one I do not understand!

We were at a funeral most of the morning and early afternoon. The older sister made it all about her. Her younger brother and his family were almost like not being family at all. Really sad, especially for the 2 granddaughters who were basically ignored. Makes me so thankful for all my family!

We leave tomorrow for the weekend ... celebrating Good Friday and Easter with my folks. I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful, blessed Easter. emoticon

April 1 is just around the corner! emoticon

Good Morning to All

Every where we went yesterday, people were there wondering if they could be of help. Went to Home Depot and they took our list and filled the cart for us. Went to Menards and a young man showed us where every item was on that list and helped get to the check-out. Our waitress at Perkins couldn't have been nicer. On the way home, hubby said that we were truly blessed this day - AND WE WERE!

Now as far as what we were shopping for????? - Last October we had terrible winds (80+ mph) for over 3 days. It ripped the tops off of two of our greenhouses and now we are fixing the damage and getting ready to plant. I realize that wasn't as interesting as shopping for a new Easter outfit or even some new household gadget, BUT it was a good day emoticon

Perkins is a good place for me to eat and I did stay on track - They have senior menus of grilled meat, lots of veggies and the portions are a nice size. I love to eat there when I go out. I can enjoy the meal without guilt......or feeling like crap later on.

Sounds like everyone is doing their thing and all is well in your world - emoticon as we can do all of this in a healthy way.

"I learn by going where I have to go."
Theodore Roethke

Good morning. Yesterday I was suppose to be a short day, 4.5 hours. At 3 my relief called in. That means there was no one to cover customer service after 4:30 and they can't close it till 10:30. I said I would stay till 9, Management came up with a manager that could cover the last hour and half. Only to have another manager call in. Someone needs to teach these people how to make people feel good about working late. They were work, work ,work you have to get everything done there is no one after you. I am sore and tired.

I found out who is taking care of the neighborhood dog. A lady that lives across from the buss stop took the dog in, but every time the school bus came the dog looked like he was going to hurt himself trying to get to the children. She decided that as much as she worried about him being hit by car, it was torturing him to be fenced when the children out there. Now she lets the dog out in the morning, the dog makes his rounds, goes home gets breakfast, lies on the porch watching the neighborhood, when he sees the buss goes back on duty.

Hello everyone...the hike was wonderful and I may post pics on a blog later or in a few days.

Pam...I know that depressed feeling when we have worked so hard and nothing changes. I measured also and found a slight decrease but I have found my clothes fit different. I have lost some "back fat" which no one may notice but me.

I know my body has changed shape from all the exercizing I have been doing. I have toned up some and my butt doesn`t jiggle when I walk. (seriuosly...now stop laughing... emoticon ..)
Only I could tell...at least no one said anything. emoticon emoticon

I`ll come back later when you stop laughing.....LOL emoticon

Keep up the good work. Let's not give up even if we don't see the results we want this day, week, month. Some of our good results aren't as obvious as numbers on the scale. emoticon

Hi all ... my brother in Puerto Rico carries a taser with him when he walks. No one has to keep their dogs fenced there, and there are some really mean ones. As soon as he sounds the taser, they run back into their yards. A mean dog is really a scary thing!

I agree, Karen, everyone here is a great help.

emoticon for you Callie!! It's lovely when people notice we are a smaller size!!

I measured the other day and was very disappointed. If I'm going to be honest here, I need to tell you I cried and had to fight depression all day. BUT I'm not giving up. It is just going to take me years (if ever) to lose these inches. At least I'm not gaining any inches, and that is a plus. I had been holding off on buying new jeans because I wanted to buy a smaller size. It just isn't going to happen any time soon, so I decided to stop waiting and get new ones.

I walked and jogged 4 miles today. I'm getting to the place where I'm not going to push myself so hard because it doesn't seem to make any difference what I do, but I'm not going to quit either.

So, saying all that, I want to encourage everyone to keep at it. Even if the scale isn't budging and the tape measure doesn't show a decrease, we are healthier. I have a saying by Abraham Lincoln posted on my fridge that says, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Today, I'm choosing joy! emoticon

My dog attack experience;

I was working for the sanitation department, back when you throw the garbage sacks onto the truck, we was going along when a dog decided he was going to eat me. I did all the yelling and arms-out but he would not back off and bit my lower leg, my partner jumped out of the cab with a tire iron and went after the dog. It was scare and the look of rage/determination on that dogs face will never be forgotten.

P.S. this is how I met my DH he was one of the supervisors and had to take pictures of my leg. We started dating a few months later.
