How many calories are you eating for one and for the other how many calories in your protein bar and your slimfast. ? I can have oat bran, milk, toast, peanut butter and kiwi for 269 calories in the morning. Then I snack all morning on my veg. and fruit, babybell cheese and 35 cal. yogurt. Lunch is a bowl of soup. It is amazing how much food you can eat for 1200 calories a day. and make sure you track all your food Hope this helps.

I concur with what has been said. I'd also enter the food in the nutrition tracker before I eat it - that way it allows you to adjust when you see problems. If I don't do that, I can find my calories way over goal.

Like Maryalice says How reasonable is your meal? measured reasonable or eye reasonable? I find they don't usually match . An eye normal bowl of cereal when I serve it would feed an army according to a cereal box normal serving of 40g. And what is in your reasonable meal veg potatoes and a meat or salad and cream cheese and a sticky pudding to finish.
Track for a week and see where it takes you against what you are allowed. And are you drinking enough water? or is it fizzy pop? water is best
Put what you eat in the tracker and make sure your dinner is reasonable. You can be gaining weight because your dinner is larger then you think it is or because your dinner is too small and your body is holding on to everything. Also you will see just how much snacking you are doing. Did you just start exercising? You could be building muscle. If you took your measurements earlier, take them again and see if you are losing inches.

I am 53 and made the decision to start eating breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. For 30+ years I've gone all day long, eaten nothing and then REALLY enjoyed supper and snacks. I've decided to cut back and chosen a protein bar for breakfast and Slim fast for lunch and a sencible supper......but, I've gained 5 pounds! No fast food. No sweets. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?
