Ha! Me too-those seats are so hard to take-congrats on getting back on it! I wondered about the BF Treadclimber-and had never known anyone that had actually used one. Sure looks like a great workout-congrats all around!

I had to start out walking a little at a time because I was deconditioned and a slow walker.
Now I have been walking most days and have been able to increase my speed and stamina.
The weight loss has also helped.

Some Sparkers report walking 5 miles a day.
It took me 2 1/2 hours to do that.
Am I a slow walker or just have a herd time squeezing in all that daily time.

I walked my 5 miles this evening ... kept it easier than I normally do. Didn't use weights or stretchy bands. Worked up a sweat but nothing like I normally do. Will get back to a harder workout tomorrow. I was gone most of the day and couldn't exercise until this evening.

Keep up the good work, Elizeveth!! I am also starting the new year right. I have lost weight before by using a journal but when I stopped weight started coming back. So I'm back to the journal and I guess I'll have to keep at it, while doing strength training every other day and the treadmill the other days as before. I know I can do this!!! And so can all of you!

We can all get to the finish line!

Hello Everyone,
I am starting this year with a renewed desire to get my weight back down to what is was 5 years ago when I retired and quit smoking. I will continue my goal of walking 10,000 steps a day and have started tracking my calorie intake. I used to weight train and I am going to start doing that again 3 days a week. Will do yoga on off days.

Hello All:
I am restarting this year with a new attitude. I am eating around 1,600 cals a day, 3 meals and 2 snacks. For exercise, I started doing pilates 3x week, yoga 1x week and walking for 30 minutes on the other days. I have finally accepted that the best way to lose the weight is slowly while making manageable changes. The hard part is staying motivated which is why I joined this group.
Have a great day!

So happy to see everyone enjoying their exercise and finding pleasant ways to get it. Wishing I could join in but my feet and legs are not cooperating, nor my back. I will be spending most of the day in my recliner with my feet up trying to get the swelling back down. Keep up the good work.

I had a 2-pound gain that really threw me but I'm marching on. I made cookies yesterday and not even a lick! YES! I'm not staying within my calorie range but am pretty close, and I'm walking 5 miles every day 5-6 days a week. I won't weigh in again at least until next week. I have to remember that the scale isn't the only way to see improvement. I lost 2 inches last month and I'm stronger ... can do more with my exercises and go longer. I will emoticon !

Braved the scale to assess holiday damage. Could have been much worse. Three days in a row of exceeding exercise goal and staying in cal range.

Today it was TNT that’s 3 sets of 10-12 reps on each body section, upper, lower & core so I did (hand weights, squats, setups)

I am thrilled with myself, because of yesterday accomplishments; eating out and staying in calorie range, making sure I finished my cardio and TNT when I am usually on the couch for the evening.
emoticon Could not sleep last night so at 2am I got up and did my TNT then back to bed.

DC~~ great plan "pass on the guacamole" or just a little, KEEP YOURSELF HAPPY

Mornin' All,

Nothing like a little truth serum to get me back on track! Reluctantly got on the scale after a 2-month holiday hiatus. YIKES! Up 3 pounds. May not sound like alot, but it sure doesn't help towards my objective to reach goal weight by March 2013. So now instead of a 15 lb. loss I'm up to 18. DRATS... Subconsciously though, I think I got on the scale to help prepare me for a social event tonight. For sure now it'll be a whole lot easier to pass on the guacomole.

I'm anxious for my holiday break to be over and return to work on Monday! I desperately need the routine to keep me at the top of my game.

None of this would be possible without the phenomenal SP support team! Strength in numbers! ~dc emoticon

I was in a blue funk until I got on this team and read the posting. You guys have got me thinking in the right direction. So what I put on 4 pounds, I can take that off in two weeks if I just get off my duff and get moving. I need to stop snacking on corn nuts at night, I just got up and throw them away. Yes it is a waste of food but better then getting on my waist. I need to get back on track and start reading my library books at night instead of raiding the pantry.

Don't usually post again, but when checking my emails this AM, I saw this newsletter from Dr Ben Kim. He is a naturopathic doctor from Canada. I enjoyed this article so much, I wanted to share it with this team because so many of us are dealing with chronic pain or disease. It is well worth the reading.

Happy New Year!

Whew, good thing I joined SP in August 2012; it gave me a good head start before facing the challenging holiday season. Even though I struggled through the November and December festivities, I did try to hold onto SOME semblance of control.

But today I get back on my bike (really elliptical trainer) and carry into the new year the 2012 resolve and commitment to drop these remaining lbs. Cowardly, I won't be meeting up with the scale until at least the end of the week! (Need time to benefit from drinking lots of water and @ least 30 mins/day of exercise.)

May 2013 be filled with Good Health, Prosperity, Peace and New Adventures... And oh yeah, let the numbers on the scales/tape measurers/clothes sizes head south for us all!

Regards, ~dc emoticon
