I just bought the Fitbit Zip this week and I do recommend it.
I've always found pedometers to be motivating. I had a tiny, cheap one for the longest time that worked great for years, but alas nothing lasts forever and it died. I purchased numerous ones, but none of them worked as well and most would keep resetting their counts throughout the day and falling off so I had pretty much given up finding one that worked well for me anymore. Until Fitbit Zip.
It synchs with SP and it was easy to install - not by the instructions that came with it which are only pictures - but when I went to the website they pretty much walk you through it. I expected I'd have to ask my DIL to do it for me, but woohoo I did it all by myself LOL! An added bonus for those who like to collect SparkPoints, when you synch it with SP you get 500 extra points - woohoo!!
It's working well so far - it's easy to wear by clipping either to my bra or pants band or carrying in my pocket - all options I'll probably use at different times, but for now it's on my waist band. It hasn't reset yet, hasn't fallen off once and I find myself checking the step count frequently throughout the day and I know I'm moving more. I have mobility problems because of worsening arthritis in my ankles, knees, hips and back, but wearing the Zip is encouraging me to move more even if I am limping.
BTW, the more expensive model includes sleep counting and climbing stairs - which are unnecessary for me - as I know I'm a lousy sleeper likely because of blood pressure meds that are a must - and our house has two flights of stairs which I climb a lot, but I don't need to count.
As Joan Rivers says, "He who limps is still walking." So here's to more moooovin' & grooooovin'!!!
