THIS WORKS. WENT ON WEEKS CRUISE DID NOT GAIN A POUND.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years
old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off. took 16 months.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x. took 7 months.

use a salad plate as a dinner plate

use fruit for your sweet tooth cravings, an apple works great. helps with the chewing sensation.

fill your salad plate with half vegetables.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

If you have a recipe you like you can feed the ingredients into the recipe calculator with the servings you should get and bingo it will tell you the calories per serving.

I use it for recipes from ordinary recipe books too

Good for you! Never give up! I wanted to send you a Spark Goodie but you don't have a Spark Page set up yet. You might want to do that so your Spark Friends can send you virtual Goodies and messages of encouragement along the way! emoticon emoticon

Well I am only 5"1, and also WW doesn't count the fruit as points and that is sugar; so I am going to try and just stick with 1200 calories. BUt I am not going to give up

Remember they calculate your points based on age, starting weight, and height. I am only 5' tall so that's why my points were only 22 - and, of course, I had the extra 35 weekly I could use. Most of my friends were getting between 24 and 26 points as they were taller then me. So, 26 may be right for you depending on your height. My experience was that if I stayed with just the 22 points I would lose about 1/2 lb. every other week, but if I used any of the "extra" points, I would stay where I was or I would gain. One thing I didn't like about the point system was that although WW encouraged you to eat "healthy" foods, most of us would eat as much "junk" as we could fit into the day and stay within our points. I was always looking for ways to stay within the points but still eat the thing I wanted to eat - like chocolate, snack foods, etc. It was Spark People that got me on the right track - eating within my calorie range but choosing foods that were healthy and giving me the nutrients my body needs. I've learned how to balance my fats, carbohydrates and proteins now and that is what is working for me. Good luck and let me know what you find out about your points! emoticon

Wow; thanks that sounds about right; but now my allowance points are 26 so maybe that is why I am not able to lose weight; OK; going to ask the people at ww when I go back this week; but that would make sense

Hi, CANDIDA - Some years ago when we were doing WW at the workplace I was told that a point equaled approximately 50 calories. I figured it out and at the 22 points I was given, that would have been 1100 calories. So, it sounds like using 50 cal per point would be about right. Hope this helps! emoticon
